Greedy Dog

My 8 month boxer x dobie???? is gatting horrendous for scavenging for food. She has 2 healthy meals a day was 3 but she was still doing it on 3. She destroys bins all the time and nicks food of kids.

Any advice please

Dogs are opportunists, they are mostly 'hard wired' to look on any available food as 'theirs'.

 

The key to this is training - train all the human members of the household NOT to feed her anything except her food, and to put her out of the eating area when meals are served OR insist that she stays on her bed. Don't let children wander around with biscuits etc in their hands. Make sure all worktops are cleared of food, and that any food waste is disposed of properly. You may want to think about re siting your rubbish bin if she can reach that too, or at least putting it out of reach when you're not around.
