amanda72
just been told by brothers ex, who are still mates.... that she should not bring my nephews around to my house because of the dogs I have, they can not be trusted!!! I have now just text him as I can not get hold of him a rather snotty reply, my dogs are so soft they would not hurt anyone, they have a bad enough time without him adding to it! Sorry rant over

DanishPastry
I am a bit thick and can't really see from your post if your brother told his ex, or she came up with it herself? Either way, I'm sorry your family can't see how lovely your dogs are
BillyMalc
Tell him your dogs can't be trusted but you can't be if you see her, silly bint But surely your brother a) knows your dogs and b) would see sense in the enormous benefit of kids being taught how to behave around dogs, by responsible people with well socialised, happy dogs? Will save them from being scared of them and acting stupid - and then get hurt by a bewildered, strange dog. Good luck
ingipops
maybe his ex believes all the negative press she reads in the paper, and she is genuinely afraid for the safety of her kids? maybe a kind word and the offer of a chat to meet your dogs without the kids in the first instance will help her to understand a much maligned breed? best of luck

paddysky
Sad society that we live in when people are ruled by the media hype I can understand how you feel, I am in the same situation and worse, just for the way my dogs look
one.eyed.dog
From the way your thread read it sounded like somebody had told her your dogs were dangerous. If she has been bringing your nephew round and everything was ok why would she believe somebody else??????? Some people are just daft. I hope you work it out. amanda72
Well I spoke to my brother today, and he had said not to take the children round, as we had only just recently got Mason. So yes I can understand now where he was coming from, as Mason had to get used to us lot first and then introduce him to my family, ie parents, brothers, and kids. I had told my brother that from the begining that I would not introduce him to any of my family untill I knew him more, and find out what he was like.... His ex and him had had a few words, and I think she was just trying to cause a little friction, as I think she knows how I feel about my pooches. Little Madam!! So all sorted now... Families cant live with em, cant live without em
