I have the back door open all day as well when i'm here and she has just poohed right by the door. any ideas?

With most rehomed dogs, it's not a bad idea to go right back to basics for a week or so at least, so treat her like a new puppy, close that door and go out with her outside to show her that it's a 'good thing' to wee and poo in the garden with a small food reward just as she's doing it. DanishPastry
some dogs can be a bit too nervous or insecure to wee or poo when out and away from home, no matter how many hours you walk them. Can you take her to the garden after a walk and try to encourage her to go before you are back in the house?

kittycat
Try going out into the garden with her. I had a similar problem with Nala, I have to shut the back door when Nala is out otherwise she just thinks the kitchen is an extentsion of the garden
