  1. Is this any help? There's a section on how to find out if someone has set up an Enduring Power of Attorney - you have to pay to find out. http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Governmentcitizensandrights/Mentalcapacityandthelaw/Mentalcapacityandplanningahead/DG_185924 (((( )))) Thinking of you.
  2. Alicia, I'm so sorry. I really hope cfor all your sakes that she has a quick and peaceful passing. ((( )))
  3. So sorry about your father in law. I don't think any one will think you're being self absorbed. Sending hugs ( can't do emoticons).
  4. Had a very hairy few minutes on the A1 today. I was driving southbound, whizzing down the outside lane in me tiny smart car. Quite a long way in front of me was a big transporter carrying a JCB. Suddenly, what looked like a railway sleeper fell off the transporter and slid across the lanes towards me and then started to spin as it got closer. I didn't have a "going to die " moment. more of an "Oh f**k, how can I get out of the way?" moment. Someone was smiling down on me because it slid past without touching me - must have been because I sucked my stomach in really tightly, so I was then very thin. However, it looked like mayhem behind me with stuff going all over the place. I pulled over as soon as I could and rang the police but I have no idea what happened to everyone else because I was way past the scene before I could pull over. I just hope everyone was as lucky as me. I felt ok but shaken when I got home but for about an hour afterwards, every time I closed my eyes I could see the sleeper spinning towards me.
  5. Sadly, George Clooney is spoken for!
  6. I would like to be able to live with the person I love.
  7. Went to the pub for a pre lunchtime drink and was (as my USA friends say) " over-served". I'm in no state to do anything much. I think a snooze is required.
  8. It's been there a long time now. I can't get rid of it either. I've just had my second breakfast. Breakfast 1: mug of hot water with a slice of lemon, homemade muesli with semi skimmed milk ( how healthy was that?) Breakfast 2: mug of fruit tea, one nectarine, two bars of chocolate ( started off withbgood intentions but it was following an hour and a half's dog training - that 's my excuse)
  9. Are you anywhere near N Herts? I'm sure my glasses need changing, Hope you're feeling better today.
  10. I'm 62 ( it scares me when I see that written down ) and a 36G and the ogling hasn''t stopped yet. It was just that it was particularly bad today! Maybe I should feel flattered at this advanced age?
  11. I've been out on a day trip today with people I volunteer with. I wore a cross over v- necked top, not low, quite modest in fact. However I had some bloke staring at my boobs all day. Maybe he'd never seen any before.'
  12. All the Rhodos in the woods at the RSPB HQ at Sandy in Bedfordshire, have been removed because they were considered a "weed". They looked wonderful at this time of year but the grounds are being restored to a more natural state, so the Rhodos had to go.
  13. I think you did the right thing re the found dog. Dog Lost can take it on now. Sorry you're having such a carp time - you know where I am if there's anything I can do.
  14. You're one of the strongest people I know. Sending
  15. Yep, still here but wondering if I just think I am.
  16. If someone held a competition for insomniacs, I think I'd be in line for a pretty big prize! I'm spending the weekend in Derbyshire and I've been busy, busy, busy but still can't sleep. Hoping to do a bit of a tour around today and see more of the beautful countryside. I can't get the damned emoticons to work properly so wavey, hugs, smiles, flowers to everyone. I've started to do Rally O with Como and the big daft beast really seems to enjoy it. Does anyone else on here do it?
  17. HLGS I hope it goes well for you and hopenthat that you don't miss the family too much.
  18. Ooops! Hope it's not down a dog!
  19. Very sorry about your mother in law Andrea.
  20. Can't help you there but whoever your provider is should be able to help you.
  21. So sorry to hear that your mum is in a lot of pain. I wish I had some advice to give about who could help.
  22. Hi Mommy Bear. Try not to worry too much. My two have raw food every day, including things like chicken carcasses. They do fine on it. I admit that they have never had a whole bunny but my understanding of the theory is that the fur and skin will "wrap itself" around any bones and help it through. You may find that Mungo's poo is quite hard in comparison to the usual consistency and may also be whitish in colour. It will return to normal once all the bunny bones find their way out. my understanding re bugs and infections is that a dog's stomach acid is very strong and should kill any bacteria. Dogs were scavengers, still are in many countries and are designed to cope with eating carrion. I hope Mungo will be fine but if you're worried, your vet is the best person to advise you.
