  3. Amber, it helps to get it out, so go for it, fire away on here, i'm not sick of hearing anything. thanks Jacky ........ My job application papers have arrived, i've photocopied them, and started filling the copy in, its not looking very good does anyone know the dates i worked at my previous jobs?........no?............neither do i I know my last job ended in may 1995, but no idea when i started it, and the few jobs before that, i haven't a clue when i worked there or when i finished So far the first 2 pages are blank, as i have no 'other courses or vocational training attended', also have no 'membership of professional bodies' and no 'other languages, written, or spoken' I worked in a bank back in the 80's and attended some courses, but i can't remember what they were, something to do with banking practices, mortgages and lending, debt recovery etc, also did a staff motivational, 1 week positive thinking course with some American guru, but again, no idea what, when, where etc.
  4. Morning GROSS ALERT, don't read if you are of a delicate constitution..... I was woken at 3 am with a wet foot, thought oh bollox Meg has weed on the bed, stuck my hand on top of the duvet to see if it was wet and it felt most odd so i turned the light on, and the sight that greeted me was like something from a slaughter house, she had puked all over the bed, besides a bit of food, there was a barbie doll foot, remains of a red crayon? tin foil, and lots of other revolting things Finally managed to get the bed stripped, remade, duvet cover and sheets in the washing machine, Meg outside for a bit, and everywhere cleaned up again, then couldn't sleep, so i'm now more tired than i went to bed Today i shall be mainly making sure the kids bedroom doors stay shut so she can't eat anymore toys. I also have a cold starting, and a sore throat to go with it, i'm not impressed, i've not been anywhere to catch anyones germs
  5. morning i've just read back over the last 15 pages to catch up i'm caught up now, but can't remember all the posts i was going to reply to thanks for all the advice re CV's, job applications, i shall take take heed of it for those poeple and dogs needing them, and good luck at the doctors Marion
  6. Oooo, a new fred A chap phoned me this morning about the job from yesterday, he asked for a cv, i told him i didn't have one as i'd not worked for years, he said it wasn't a problem, and is sending me some 'gumph' and an application form, which i have to send back to him I have no idea if i'll even get an interview without a cv, and if i do i'll probably not get a job, i've never had an interview before all my jobs so far have been walk in and start ones, or someone rang, and offered me one which i took. Tis all a bit weird out there now
  7. Congratulations Jayne! Bless him, do you have pictures? i've seen a few of your dogs, but more pictures are always welcome
  8. Its an office job I don't think i can wear holey jeans and wellies..... I don't know if i'll get it, but rang on the offchance, as its just around the corner, mon-fri, and good hours, going by the description, its easy enough work as well. So pleased i'm not the only person with a limited wardrobe gemstone, I have black trousers, but i'm too fat for them my clothes are more suited to the farm worker job stylee, shame there aren't many farming jobs going at the moment
  9. i seem to have just rung about a job........ i'm now having a major wibble, as i haven't had a proper job for over 10 years, plus i have no clothes, my wardrobe consists of 2 pairs of jeans (one with huge holes in them) and 7 t-shirts,(1 for each day of the week) plus 2 fleece jackets my 2 pair of shoes consist of, my wellies, and my boots which have seen better days maybe it wasn't such a good idea after all.......
  10. fingers crossed for you car Alex, hope it sorts itself out. this morning was nice and sunny, now its gone dark and dull, i was hoping to get loads of washing sorted Alan quite likes the fact i can no longer hear it means he can crank the stereo up without me complaining its too loud, he finds it quite amusing
  11. oops! i was going to suggest if its a video one, can't you get some movies with subtitles? then realised that by the time you'd squinted to read them it'd not be worth the hassle it'll make a lovely pressie for your OH though. i'm finding out what its like to be without hearing at the moment, and its hard to get used to, its not something you can imagine by just sticking your fingers in your ears and pretending you can't hear, its so ....empty, though its amazing how quickly other senses kick in, i could feel the vibrations from the car stereo on the way home from hospital, something i'd not been aware of feeling before, it was weird, i could feel when the songs started and ended, even with the engine running as well oooh having a rambling session, sorry hope you find something equally as good, just for you
  12. good luck Melp and Trev with operation preparations tis very odd being deaf as a door post, but tis handy that i can't hear cups of tea being asked for orf to go make some fishes and leaves
  13. Helen I apologise if you're into political correctnes, but that had me no problem Anne, it tickled me too! thanks Marion this is me>> did someone say something?
  14. am back from the hospital, they didn't keep me.......... but i have to attend twice a week for the next 5 weeks that'll be fun......not. i've been under the microscope, and had both ears 'bunged' up so can't hear a thing they will be de-bunging and bunging me twice a week, roll on 5 weeks time when i should be able to hear again, or maybe not? judging by the kids mouths that keep moving, i think its an advantage not being able to hear this week
  15. anti wibbling Alex i hope the next 14 days pass quickly and painlessly for you, and everything can be finalised. i am going to the hospital today my appointment to see a consultant finally arrived, hes coming from another hospital to see me locally, i have to take medication etc with me (i don't have any....), so hopefully that doesn't mean i'll be staying in?
  16. wooo hooo, half term this week, so a whole week of not having to get up early for school Meg has buried chews all over the house, she doesn't eat them, just runs round with them and hides them she has just been trying to hide/bury one with her nose on the leather arm chair, it didn't work
  17. excellent Laura, there was a site somewhere that you could look your house up on, and it told you who lived there 100 years ago, but i can't remember where it was, or what it was called it was most interesting though, does anyone else know where the site is? i've just been googling for the site, didn't find it, but found out that Frederick Button lived at number 5 beach rd in 1900 he was a fisherman, Samuel Abbott lived at number 5 Beach rd in 1901 and was a Smack owner Frances Abbott lived at number 8, Lydia and Thomas Bee lived at number 15, the Birds lived at number 10 in 1958 and theres plenty more............... can you tell i don't have a lot to do? i like looking into the history/past, of people and places, its very interesting.
  18. poor Yama, i really think you should parcel her up and send her to me Wendy, Yama is a great dane and a most lovely one, Uke has 2 of them, both gorgeous today i have been mainly digging a huge hole at the back of the garden, and using the dirt in it to fill in Megs holes she has been digging, now we have a flat garden again except for down the bottom where the new big hole is
  19. Well done Elaine i have been awake since 7.50am, i don't even get up that early on a school day Meg was out in the garden minding her own business when she was jumped by a ginger minge its now sat on the fence looking at her, and she is staring back, not quite knowing what it is, shes never seen one before
  20. mutterance and factoid .... Pegs bum stinks, it smells that bad, it's making me feel ill anyone want a puppy for the night?
  21. Bummer Alex its easily done though... Alan just said they should only need to take the fuel tank out and drain it, no need to take the whole engine out *edit* ooops! poor cushion heres some virtual flowers, hope tomorrow is a better day
  22. I was minding my own business hanging some washing out, and fetching the dry stuff in, Meg monster was wandering about, when i heard a strange noise, upon investigation, it seems she has taken a dislike/liking to the swings, and eaten one the kids will be well pleased it was their favourite 'boat swing' she destroyed... oops
  23. so sorry Loobie, sweet dreams Nannie, rest peacefully
  24. i agree , definately weird in a nice way if anyone thinks you are weird in a not nice way, i'd say it was them with the problem not you
  25. good enough reason! ooooh, council man has finally been out to look at the derelict land behind us (used to be an allotment) its only taken 5 years of badgering, he has taken some pictures, and agreed that its derelict and they will come and clean it up, and send me the paper work so we can have it wooo hooo, loads of huge garden now, its only £20 a year, with an option to buy it after 2 years at discounted price.
