Don't know if any one has seen/heard about this ? so thought would post it just in case! 1 of our members from my GSD forum posted it and I think the word needs spreading I'm putting this on Chit Chat because of the amount of people who read it (Mods feel free to move it). Please go to Channel 103 and press Teletext. When the page loads, hit News, then New Headlines. After that, press the yellow button on your remote which will give you a pop up menu. Go to Teletexts and arrow to the next page. It should take you to a debate. The debate this week is whether Rottweillers should go on the banned list. The actual poll takes place at the weekend. Although Rotties are a dog I wouldn't have, purely because I just don't like the look of them, I feel the dog haters are about to have a field day. We have had, what, 3 Rotties involved in attacks. 2 of which we know the dogs came from extremely bad backgrounds - of course, the press is keeping very quiet about that. The 3rd attack was dog on dog and the owner got bitten trying to separate them. Again, the Rotties were blamed when it was their owner who couldn't or wouldn't control them. I do not believe Rotties should go on any banned list but as usual we're getting the knee-jerk reaction from mostly people who know nothing about the breed or even about dogs in general. There are thousands of well trained and gentle Rotties out there. The majority should not be penalised because of the minority. Perhaps someone ought to point out that about 5 or 6 years ago (maybe slightly more) two Jack Russells savaged a baby to death. How strange we don't hear about that one. I fear that if Rotties go on the banned list, GSDs will probably follow soon after, along with Dobermans and most other large breeds. I have had a look on the telly and there is a response page with e-mail, text etc so I think we should get responding
