  1. You must call the Police.... if someone is going to have a fall
  2. I have a brand new riding hat just sitting around one of the modern vented hats not velvet or skull cap.... my sister gave it to me because its too big for her and its too big for me its a 7 I think...its never been used
  3. I really hope it helps... it certainly shouldnt do him any harm... keeping everything crossed he is back to his lively self before long
  4. If only we 'knew' what way we wanted to go!
  5. To get a horse to land on the correct leg.... if you open the rein a little ie move it away from the neck on the side you want him to land on (god I hope thats right its been years!!!)
  6. You always have to allow for the fact that most cob types have a fairly straight hock, so its not always easy for them to step right up underneath the girth, they simply dont have the flexibility in their hock....
  7. Wanda is stunning what a lovely mare she is.... Poor little Banner, having worked on a stud farm I know what a horrible condition it is...massaging the area does help (breaks down the horrible gunk)...but not all horses are very happy about it....
  8. Is he going to get anti biotics?
  9. The reason I said he might want higher as he seems to be running into the bottom of the fence and getting in too close which is why it probably all feels a bit rushed.... a bigger fence might make him back off a bit....Id try schooling him with a ground pole in front of the fence as a guide and make him walk between fences.... take him to a little 'clear round' show and make him walk the course....
  10. Loki - Has he not had a course of anti-biotics already? It s got to be worth a try if not...just speaking for myself...last year I had a terrible chest infection ... had one lot of anti-Bs got better for a week then it hit again, worse than before, and I had to have a second stronger lot before it gave up......I think you have tried just about everything really....
  11. Milo -Wonderful photos, he is lovely and neat infront.... I think he waants to jump higher though... Bumble - Do you think the rain might have bought on some fresh grass shoots? Loki - How are things...any improvement....
  12. Poor Loki.... is anything happening on the yard when you are not there? something or someone upsetting him?
  13. Oh... I have put off writing this message, been trying to talk myself out of it...but I desperatly miss not having my own horse, its been about ten years, though I have broken, re scholed other peoples, but after the last one whos owner was a right 'lady dog' I vowed never again!!!! so I made a promise... unless it was mine, my very own I wasnt going to ride it.... There are still massive hurdles to get over.... I need to find a nice livery yard....with nice hacking and good facilities... I need to get myself a little van (just a car type one) for lugging stuff about in....and last but not least...decide what sort of horse Id like.... and oh my god have I thought about them all...eveything from an ex race horse to a draft..... but have sort of settled though this could change on an unbroken pref unspoiled... Quarter Horse or Pref ...Quarter Horse X Andulisian (which I found out today is called an Aztec!) Now this may be a long way off...lots to arrange and sort out... top priority is getting a pay rise from this lousy place....then we can begin!!!
  14. You could try the Half Halt (see link) its old fashioned but works well http://www.classicaldressage.co.uk/half_halt.html
  15. Horse Agility... http://www.thehorseagilityclub.com/great-britain.html
  16. I hope this doesnt sound too silly but I wonder if putting him out with a few nice mares might perk him up a little?
  17. You could try pony agility!! (you understand Im only suggesting this because the photos will be so cute)
  18. I watched the 'groundwork' one of these at the weekend and was blown away.... might be good for the little monkey and you need next to no equipment.... http://brannaman.com/bbdbpage.htm
  19. Sounds like he is feeling his power is slipping with being seperated from 'herd' so is re inforcing his possition...
  20. Ex brood mares are often big in the tummy area...you will have to watch to see if she has a season to know if she is in foal if you cant touch her..... if she is put back into work and made fit again her tummy will go back to normal
  21. Im off work for a week now so wont have any internet access...Im going to keep everyting crossed for everyone with health problems....that means you Loki!!.....and Bumble!!.....will be hoping for all good news when Im back Monday week.... good luck everyone!!
  22. Blimey, thats a bit unexpected...Im still hoping they will find a simple explanation and all will be well....keeping everything crossed for you.....
  23. Lots of snorting etc. sounds like a 'wind' thing hopefully they can scope him and sort him out....
  24. Naturally .... it much easier to rant ... I would rather know why someone so clearly incapeable mentaly of looking after himself or any other animal was left in charge of them. and was still at work!!.. someone at the top is escaping scrutiny......
  25. I hav'nt seen anywhere that says he has done it before...I do know it happedned on a different force with another dog handler last year
