  3. Im sorry this is quite a late reply....Meena sometimes gets a touch (if she doesnt drink enough water ) I boil up barley in lots of un salted water and mix the resulting water in with her food....it works very well and quickly
  4. Im so glad he can come home....I know just how you feel though I eventually had to retire my mare after going through the box rest, in hand and small padock thing 3 times.....I gave in and retired her to pasture (she was 14) .... part of me still regrets it but i couldnt put her through anymore....

  12. Hi, I hope someone has a few ideas with how stop Barnum (My GSP) inhaling his breakfast (he is ok a tea time) he is fed on James Welbeloved(suplimented with raw meat and fish) and is a fussy, stressy dog who is very hard to keep weight on... The problem I have is in the morning (he is fed at 6.00 am) hes inhales his food so fast he just swallows it and is then sick.....any ideas would be very helpful....I have tried putting ice cubes in with the food to slow him down and it worked the fist couple of times...now he just waits until the melt and then inhales his food....(the drool is unnatural)
  13. Sounds a real mystery....I hope you get some good news soon....
  14. I have been away for a week....honestly I cant leave you five minutes....all my thoughts are with you, Milo and Blue....if Vinne is an ex race horse you could check out the ex racer forum you might get more info though you would need his registered name

  17. People just dont think its a serious problem..... they would if they had to spend a fortnight in an isolation yard washing great sucking holes in horses necks....grim wasnt the word.....blimey I have done some horrible jobs....
  18. I hope everyones injury worries turn out to be nothing serious just as the weather and holidays approach....
  19. I watched the program on Channel 4 on Sunday War Horse (The real story) a mix of the harrowing and heroic...worth a look if you have a 'watch again' service

  21. Id speak to my vet if it was me.. there are things they can give to stop your mares coming into season...though that wont stop him chancing his arm if he is that sort of pony....if you have insurance now might be the time to check the small print...
  22. Clare that last jump pic over the white gate is fantastic!!!! look at him stretch!!!... EAD Im sorry to hear about your rubbish lessons my younger sister had a very similar problem, except she was nearly bucked off this bronk of a horse they put her on as a beginner (It had put their top instructer in hospital)....I came very close to the throat of this so called instructer before walking into the school and geting my sister off the horse and taking her home....Try and get onto a 'local' riding forum if you can and see what other peoples experiences have been....and always watch a lesson before paying for one...if they wont let you watch a lesson then walk away
