One of the chaps I get the racing greyhounds from phoned me the other day and asked if I could find a home for a 7 year old GSD boy. His name is Reggie and he was one of a pair of GSDs that were guard dogs (I use this term very loosely as he has a lovely gentle nature and is a rubbish guard dog ). A few weeks ago the older bitch Reggie was with had to be pts due to arthritis and old age and poor Reggie is fretting himself away I have been asked to find him a loving home as they really don't want to have Reggie pts as he is a lovely boy but at the moment he is very miserable. On first meeting Reggie he bounded out of his enclosure and instantly wanted cuddles even though he had never met me, he would come back to me instantly if I called his name and didn't have a problem being handled or touched. There doesn't appear to be any aggression and he happily trots around the breakers yard and greets people as they come in Reggie enjoyed the company of the older bitch and could probably live with another dog but he has not been assessed with cats. His owners will have him vaccs and neutered if a home can be found for him. So come on who can help poor Reggie by offering him a foster or permanent home? Don't be put off by his age, this boy has energy and considering he has always lived outside he appears to be very agile and fit with no signs of stiffness. He will make someone a very loyal and loving companion I will add some photos shortly but Photobucket is closed for maintenance.

UPDATE: This boy was not pts on Saturday and has been granted a few more days for us to try and get him out. It turns out he is not tattooed so that makes getting him into a greyhound rescue a little more difficult as they only tend to take ex-racers and he would probably be classed as a lurcher. He is now being advertised as a 2 year old so its anyones guess as to how old he really is I think from his picture he looks a lovely happy and gentle boy

I was contacted by a lady today about a black greyhound boy in a pound kennels in Kent that will be PTS at the weekend if a rescue space can't be found He is aproximately 5 years old and has a wonderful temperament. Can anyone down there help him? Please pm me or call me on 07816 825 490 if you can help, this is very urgent.

I have a 3 year old brindle greyhound boy in the Wigan area who needs an urgent foster or rescue space. I have contacted all the usual people but nobody is able to offer help I'm getting very concerned for this boy as he has been waiting for a number of weeks now and his owners will not keep him forever. I may possibly be able to help out with part of the transport.

A rescue space is desperately needed for a 3 year old black and white greyhound boy. His owner has promised he will keep him until Monday (15th June) and then he goes Obviously this has left me no time at all to try and get him a rescue space. Can anybody help? This dog is currently living in the Wigan area but can travel depending on whether a transport run could be set up.

Well I'm very pleased to say that these boys have been found a rescue space down in Guilford They are not out of the woods until I pick them up but come Sunday they should be on their way down south. Thank you to everybody for your offers of help, they are very much appreciated

There are 3 greyhounds on a farm in the Wigan area that are in desperate need of a rescue space. I was contacted by a lady who volunteers for a GSD rescue and who had been to see a GSD they wanted to get rid of. While she was there she noticed the greyhounds and they asked her if she could take them too so she contacted me and asked if I could help get them out as she doesn't think they'll be there much longer I'm afraid I don't have any other details apart from they are aproximately 4-5 years of age, male and no good for racing.

Well this girl is once again looking for a rescue space Her Owner changed his mind at the last moment which really annoyed me as Helly had very kindly found me a rescue space with the RGT. He called me back this evening to say he did want to rehome her after all So if anyone can take this girl please let me know.

Lisfannon Blue, or Blue for short, needs an urgent foster home or rescue space. She will be 4 on the 2nd of October and has a nice temperament although isn't good with small furries and is a keen chaser. I will be going to see her this week and will add some pictures of her. Can anyone offer this girl a foster or permanent home as her time is limited

What a little star she is she is going to make someone a lovely pet, the kind of dog you can take anywhere by the looks of things Is she ready for rehoming yet?
