  1. Meet Savage. He's a gorgeous little Staffie boy who ended up in the pound . He did his time and no-one claimed him so he has come into Oldies Club care. Like most Staffies poor little Savage is really nothing like his silly name (was on microchip not chosen by pound staff) - he's a gorgeous friendly little old man who has charmed both his transporters and his foster family. To celebrate his new start in life we would like to give old Sav a brand new name and would like your help in doing this. For just £1 a name you could be in with a chance of naming our lovely old boy and win yourself a £10 book token. As many goes as you like If you wish to participate please post the name you would like in the comment box below and send entry fee via paypal. All proceeds to Oldies Club Please pay by PayPal to: [email protected] choose 'personal payment' then 'gift' in the notes please quote 'Name Chosen'. Fundraiser ends Friday 13th December 2013 at 9pm

  9. Our schools arent on half term until the following week. Hello not much to report here apart from the fact I STILL have the lurgy and it looks like its here to stay for at least another week. Grr
  10. I dont know how accurate the thing about Avon stuff is. I would definately get proper mosquito repellant as well with minimum 50% DEET as they do bite- and bite harder than the midges in this country. I used Jungle Formula Maximum - cheapest place to get it is Savers for about £2.99 compared to the extorionate £8.99 in Tesco!! I only managed to get one bite when away and I sprayed every day - I had the bite on my arm for at least a week after I cam home. My friend has more bites though we discovered one of her repellants didnt have DEET in so was quickly binned. Most hotels will have a plug in mosquito repellant in the room as well.
  11. Had an early night - was in bed by 9.30pm but seem to spend most of the night up and down. Still feel like rubbish - boo! Glad babies are developing well. Fingers crossed for a smooth pregnancy for Mum.
  12. Congratulations Alex!! Still feel like crap Wish I was still in bed. Havent had a cold for so long forgot how rubbish they make me feel.
  13. Light and floaty stuff is best with it being rather humid over there although weather may change in November. I did take a waterproof for the rain but I never wore it. Its not so bad when its warm and rainy. H&Ms have still got reasonable priced vest tops for the more touristy areas. Normal t-shirts are fine for the the temples. If you wear dresses you might like to pack light ones. Would recommend getting a good pair of flipflops/ sandals that you are comfortable wearing. Its too hot for wearing trainers.
  14. Have got a cold and am feeling rather rough
  15. Phebe it was about 25 minutes for the mini manicure which maonly included trimming and shaping my nails and then putting 1 layer of base coat, 2 layers of nail varnish and 1 layer of top coat. I havent as yet managed to scag them which is a miracle! Dog ban has been lifted and wen spent fab time down on the beach and then in the cafe afterwards. Really enjoyed ourselves
  16. Blimey Sam you got up before the temple tape started! Hope you manage to get a good sleep tomorrow. Wow 17 is a fab age Marion. Am wrapping baby gifts as two friends both had their babies this week. One boy and one girl.
  17. Had rather busy evening yesterday. After work I had a mini manicure. Ive never had one before as my nails are rather weak and usually scag and break off especially with the grooming but 2 weeks in the Sun in Sri Lanka and I came back with claws lol. I felt a bit awkward as not my usual sort of thing but it wasnt too bad. Clearly the other people there spend alot of time and money on their nails and must be regulars as they seemed to know the lady doing their nails pretty much inside out. After manicure and time to dry went to book club. I missed the first one by misjudging how much time I was going to be at Batleys so was my first visit. Had read the chosen book and hated it. 5 people turned up only 2 of us had finished it, 2 has gotten so far and given up and 1 hadnt read it as the copy she bought off Amazon never arrived. We spent about half an hour ripping the book apart and saying how bad, cringeworthy and unnecessary some of the descriptions were in it. After that we decided on next book and spent the rest of time chatting. Quite nice escape once a month to a cosy cafe Book was apparently made into a film but i really dont fancy seeing it. Jayne you wouldnt cope with dishing out the food for the Dogstar cats and dogs. It contains dried fish and the beady little eyes watch you
  18. I swam with dolphins at Malta but it was a captive environment. They had been rescued from a Russian circus and couldnt return to the wild. I remember seeing some of the scars on the bodies of some of them and wondering what they must have been through whilst with the circus
  19. Urgh rain is foul this evening. Went to see About Time in the cinema. Was quite good, Got soaked in Tesco car park
