Thanks all for the help. Ideally Sam we would love to buy but at the moment im not sure its feasable unless a cool £300,000 fell from the gods Rent with right to buy in a couple of years would be the best option and we are open to areas although the Midlands would be best placed to keep us functioning how we are currently. If we could rent a property then we could make moves to fundraise and hopefully give us a foot up over the next couple of years. Weve grown to running 60 dog strong and usually have 40 in foster homes and up to 20 in kennels. The kennels staff are fabulous and I cant thank them enough for all they do for our dogs but its a good jaunt (20 mile round trip) and we seem to be getting reputation for rehabing the harder dogs at the moment. There are a couple that I doubt will be rehomable but are very happy and secure in our kennels and again aswell as more extensive rehab work we could give these much more sanctuary. Its sad that in the current climate with kenneling bills alone amounting to that much, they have increased again this year from £25,000 last year we are not only at risk of not being able to continue to expand but forced to cut back on our numbers. There are so many at the moment more than I ever remember before although I seem to say that every year and no matter what you do it never seems to be enough. Frustrating and heartbreaking all at once.

Ive only been made aware there is a thread on here tonight and just wanted to say thank you very much. There are so many places on the web now that we are covering its been so hard to keep on top of them all. I am totally overwhelmed by everyones kindness and thoughts for our very special girl. As Fee said on Saturday and Sunday this weekend we want to enter the forest en masse. It is such a vast vast area to search unless we can do almost a fingertip search we wont be able to satisfy ourselves that she isnt there. I must stress though this really isnt an area to be letting dogs off leash it really isnt and im heartbroken. I travelled down with Tzar at the weekend and although with me from a tiny pup and always used for running out after lost dogs even he was tethered to me unless in a close hold on the main path. So if people can come and do have dogs with them please keep them safe. We will have someone on the carpark all day both days to meet and pass maps onto whoever comes. We are hoping to go out first and search the enclosure and then to split into groups covering as many areas. If people can come and do have powerful torches to bring they would be a great help as some of the areas are so dense there is no way into them but a light would help also walking sticks to help us push and poke into those areas to check nothing is there. Again thank you all. Nobody can rest and this little one just needs to be safely back within the Gap fold.

Rachel ive sadly just been through two years of this with my own Greyhound Rodney. He was diagnosed with Cushings two years ago and we started him on the treatment. He too began to develop demodex and became ill. Roxy has clearly had a severe allergic reaction to the aludex bath and as hard as it is to comprehend looking at her now it will get better as long as you dig your heels in and tell the vets you will not treat her with it again. Go to Boots and get a combination of Vitamin E tablets, Vitamin D and most importantly Echinnacea drops to help boost her immune system back up. Once she starts to get less sore speak to your vets about advocate. Its a spot on that is very effective with demodex and you put it on three weekly instead of a month to begin with. What dose of vetoryl is she on? I ask this as Rodney was started on 120 and I had my suspicions as to whether it was cushings or not as at first he picked up then the mange started to develop and he started to lose weight. I questioned it and questioned it and the vets were adamant on re tests it was definatly cushings. I dropped his dose myself to 90 first then 60 and still the mange and weight loss progressed. He became very poorly. In the end I wasnt happy and moved him to the rescue vets. We found out that it wasnt Cushings at all and the vetoryl was what was causing the immune system to supress and the deomodex to flair. How often is she having her bloods re tested? They should really do it once a month till they are sure she is stable. You may find that her dose needs dropping slightly and that is what is pushing her down. Hope she is feeling much better soon.

Sue I am so so sorry Hugo was a beautiful gentle man who captured the hearts of all that met him. I can always remember being suprised that a dog with such a big heart and character stood physically so small You are in our thoughts.

I cannot believe that you all have so little faith in Fee BUT IM SO RELIEVED TO HEAR ITS NOT JUST ME Having spent all but an hour with Jess yesterday she nearly didnt make it to Nicky who in turn nearly didnt hand her on to Fee so what hope is there if we all nearly failed

Jan I am so sorry I didnt realise it was you BUT can remember seeing Eddie from the side of the ring and thinking he was a little beauty it was him with the headcollar on wasnt it? Wish I had known I would have made time to say hello Thank you for your support and it was a fantastic day I cant believe how beautifully behaved ALL the dogs were they were a real credit to their owners and made for a much more relaxed atmosphere on the day. Can you give him a squidge for me please seeming as I missed him. We have to say a massive thanks to all those who came on the day and what a fabulous amount raised I really am yet again very humbled.

Sorry and it may not make me popular but they deliberatly set out to defraud the owners of the kennels. If they knowingly wrote a cheque to allow a dog to pass into their care then they should have stood it OR made it perfectly clear they would take the dog but NOT cover the costs. We have taken dogs from vets before and the costs of necessary surgery has run into thousands literally one dog cost us £2500 we were aware of the costs when we agreed to take it. Had we not she would have been euthanised although the money had already been spent. Had I collected the dog then cancelled the cheque too right I would have been expecting to find my backside hauled into court. Its dishonest no matter how unscrupulous the owner of the kennels are or how morally wrong its felt the kenneling charges being made were. It all sounds very dodgy on every level to me. Rescues occasionally have to tell little white lies to get dogs out of danger but to me they should always be above board and honorable where money is concerned.

Dear Auntie Sandra Just a quick postcard to say I as landed with the Greyhound Gap lot. Im settling in well and have been for my walk today with the girls and as you can see we are already working on putting a bit of meat on my bones I love my raised bed and you cant see the pile of toys behind me that ive stacked neatly. Will let you know how I am again soon when ive put on a few pounds and head to a foster home after I lose two plums apparently Thank you so much again for stopping for me when I was scared and helping to get me to safety Love Teddy x Sandra he is absolutly fine and settling in well he loves his raised bed and finds it doubles as a great trampoline, adores his squeeky toys and loves food and pigs ears. Will keep you posted.

Twas too late Fee no flies on me I was already onto it get everywhere I do Sandra im so sorry that things have gotten a bit tough with Jack and Jumble but you are totally right with the decision you have made. He is actually landing at our kennels tomorrow and is bringing with him a 12 week old friend oops people see me coming a mile off I swear Pup is going straight into foster care and Teddy is going to be heading to our kennels for some tlc and pampering before he looses his manly bits and then will head off to foster when we have a suitable one available. Will get you some piccies at the weekend and give him a squidge from you and tell him he is very much loved. Thank you so much for getting him out there and noticed and I promise I will find him the best home available.

Lucy was from Cheshire. The family had had her from a pup but when the kids came along she couldnt cope so went to live with the ladies elderly Father sadly he has died recently so she had to take her back. Once again she was petrified of the kids so they just couldnt her. Sounds very similar
