    Hello

Just wanted to say a quick hello, Ive really missed catching up but it's been tough of late! An update: Looleebelle (Lucy, or Bruce as Jack calls her ) is wonderful but Angel baby she ain't! She still suffers from reflux but the Gavisgon helps and we're finally getting some sort of routine. Jack is fab, loves his sister and is now potty trained - yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay Riles is healthy and happy (except for the fireworks) Mum fell (slid off the bed) landed on her bum, fractured her fima (sp?) and dislocated her hip replacement resulting in a 15 day stay in hospital and she now lives with us for 12 weeks (she's been here 5) I've had a bit of a health scare and had to have a scan today but it's all clear and hopefully Im ok - I tend to go a bit insular when there's owt up tho H is just H, travelling a lot but here at the mo. Love to all and I'll add pics later.....x
  4. we were interviewing the vicars daughter on sunday afternoon with a view to her babysitting for us, Jack was in the room wafting yellow dusters around like a cheerleader:- Me: Bug, what are you doing? J: Oh Just fannying around H: pardon? J: it's okay mummy says it to you all the time
  5. Its my friends fathers funeral next week - here's his reading Living Bouquets When I quit this mortal shore And mosey 'round this earth no more, Do not weep and do not sob; I may have found a better job. Don't go and buy a large bouquet For which you'll find it hard to pay, Don't mope around and feel all blue; I may be better off than you. Don't tell the folks I was a saint Or any old thing that I ain't. If you have jam like that to spread, Please hand it out before I'm dead. If you have roses bless your soul, Just pin one in my buttonhole While I'm alive and well today; Don't wait until I'm gone away. Wise words huh?
  6. Why that'd be grand Not sure I still have your number due to an unfortunate incident with the phone and the pavement, hang on......*checks*....yup I have it here, will text you. Glad you got some quality snooze time.
  7. come here and look after Lucy - you'll be glad of three hours never mind five and I'll love you even more Just kidding sorry you arent sleeping x
  8. Cheryl, if it's any consolation, my mate who's a nurse says a swelling is good as it shows the swelling is xternalised rather than internalised. Hope she's better in the morning and sending much love to you both xx

    Finally

Baby Luby And of course, big brother.... Life's going ok, mum is still in hospital but being quite foul so she's clearly on the mend. J is dealing with the underling without too much jealousy but can be quite testing at times and Lubes is going to see a paediatrician fr her 'silent' reflux and H is working away too much for me to be happy! Hope you're all well, missing being involved more but time is so limited at the mo xx
  10. Been trying depsperately to pop on and post pictures of Jbug and Lucy (or Luby Luby Luby to Jack, sung to the Kaiser Chiefs Ruby and at full toddler volume and pitch ) Having a bit of a tough time tho, Lubes has Reflux and my mum fell and has broken her thigh bone and now needs a new hip replacement as well as a pin n plate. 10 days of twice daily hospital visiting and she's coming her to recover (again). On the plus side, Riles is doing great
  11. Any one have any use for a selection of size 16 maternity wear? Mainly mamas and papas, seraphine and crave. Also some baby girl clothes some worn some not. I havent put it in swap shop as I'm not asking anything other than a home for them, of course if you want them and felt a donation to a rescue was appropriate that would be great ;) Mods please move if swap shop is a better home, Ta Amanda
  12. Thank you all so very very much, I'm quite teary at such lovely messages and warm welcomes, a special thank you to Cherylbejo, Claz and Wendymoonboobs for sorting out the photos Can't believe she's here! She's fairly good,a bit mixed up with her days and nights (we were up from 3pm til 5.30 and trust me there is NOTHING on the tv worth watching at that time of night) J is being a treasure but my mum comes down during the day so he and I can have some 'special' time and Riles gets his too I'll be on later with some piccies Thank you again it really is lovely
  13. Hello and thank you Still in hospital as she's a little yellow at the moment.Hands up who likes Martha? X
  14. Hmmmmmmmmmm, just popped on to say I was still here, still getting the odd pain but no regularity
  15. could be a false start and then I'll feel a right prawn but will keep you all posted
  16. Hello - I *think* labour may be starting..... Very irregular at the moment, every 10 mins then every half hour and nowhere near as painful as it was with JJ - that just happened immediately. Oh well wish me luck..... x
  17. Saw the midwife today, she booked me back in for two weeks but says she doesn't expect to see me as she's sure the baby will be here way before. *gulp* and Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! I have really bad backache. But Im probably imagining it........ Off to bed, nighty night. x
  18. I am supposed to be writing my Birth Plan Go to hospital, have pain free birth, catch up on sleep, come home. Yeah right. Thank the Lord for Cherylbejo and the tinterweb.
  19. Saw the consultant today. My what a handsome man. He could've told me I was about to part with a 15lb er and Id have believed I could do it. As it turns out he reckons around 8 and 1/2 but that my previous complications won't impact on this birth - yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay. He said just to believe in myself and my body. He steadfastly refused my community midwife's suggestion of an induction at term stating that often lead to more complications/interventions and that the best thing to do would be to take it as it comes. I am so much happier this evening.
  20. Glad to be of service..... ..............if not mild it may extend from to the whole of the alimentary canal, from the mouth to the anus, attended with flatulency, purgings &c. In this severe form it often terminates fatally ( ) Elderly people and persons with debilitated constitutions are liable to this complaint. Attention should be paid to the state of the general system, especially to the stomach and bowels. An emetic is often of great service. Give also a genereal aperient. Small doses of magnesia, and the use of lime water will be of great service in removing acid from the stomach and bowels. The neutralizing Mixture diluted may be given till the bowels are activated upon. Make a decoction of sage and hyssop, add a little borax, and wash the affected parts with it. A solution of burnt alum has also been recommended; or apply it pulverised. NEUTRALIZING MIXTURE: Powdered Rhubarb, 3 scruples; saleratash or crude bicarbonate of potash, 3 scruples; powdered peppermint plant, 3 scruples; boiling water 1/2 pint; decoction of aniseeds 1/2 pint; Mix. Strain, sweeten with sugar and add three tablespoons of brandy. Take one or two tablespoons as oft as the symptoms require it. An infallible remedy. ETA Anyone else??
  21. Apparantly it's been in our family for years, it's a tatty old thing dated May 1866 but its fabulous - it ranges from Abdominal Ruptures through to the Cold Water Cure (??) taking you through Opium poisoning, Painters colic and encompassing recipes and dyeing techniques. Most things seems to be cured by regulating the bowels or wrapping your feet in mustard paper however Lots of homeopathic cures in there also. Would've been cracking for Loobie's rabbit stew too
  22. CherylByJove - I luffs you, you are very calming You should be resident birthing guru - have you thought about being a Doula? Ive got my Almond oil but its the scarring from JJ that's causing the potential problems *shudder*
  23. Good evening, Im still here and keep trying to keep up but it's increasingly uncomfortable to sit at the pc or have the laptop on in bed. Seeing the consultant on the 14th as one of the community midwives thinks she's a BIG baby - nice. I was bigger bump wise with Jack and he was 7lb 11 but hey ho time will tell I suppose. The words elective episiotomy have been mentioned
