  1. Its very strange his teeth all the lines. He has very clean teeth and its not tartar built up. I notice in his notes that he did have his teeth cleaned when he was at the rescue centre. Very strange, guess we will never know quite what its about. Gillian
  2. Thats look very much like his harness but his is blue , he does still pull abit, more so when he sees deer or rabbits etc, today we went to holkham, he saw couple of deer running, boy did he pull and he still trys to choke himself and tongue goes shade of purple. His says you can show me cook chicken all you like mum but deer are way better . He does have quiet a thick neck underside and a big adams apple as i call it. Gillian
  3. Forgot to ask another question (sorry). Our dogs weighs about 27kg now and speaking to our vet she says thats about his right weight, I was wondering how much wet food would you actually feed for this weight. You see before when we got him he was on 360grams of arden grange and when we asked about changing him over to wet we wasnt to sure quite how much wet to give and the vet and nurses couldnt give a very good answer, depends this depends that, i just need some idea. So going on our old dogs being abit smaller so we worked on around 700gram wet. He seem to look about right now as he need to put some weight on when we got him. Anyway i was just wondering how much you lot would feed for 27kg dog on wet food??. Sorry im full of questions, any body think i havent had dogs all my life , you just like to know your doing the best for them. Gillian
  4. Wow lots of advice thankyou, i really dont think my dog like dry food at all, and some of you have said about naturediet and wainrights so next time i go shopping i will look at these ones. Maybe someone could answer this very strange question for me, our dogs bottom and top teeth have lots of lines going across his teeth on the inside,, any idea what this could be from? They look like they have been there quite awhile. And he has had one front tooth out. Maybe this is why he doesnt like hard food do you think? Never seen anything like it before. Ive make note of them feeds and will look for them, we do have jollys and pets at home about 15 miles away so not far really, plus a good pet shop about 10miles away. Thankyou again for the help Gillian

    Dilemma

God it makes me so angry just reading about this poor dog, I totally think you should poke your nose in as this poor puppy cant speak for herself and its totally unfair to treat her this way, would this bloke like to be treated like that. I would have gave him a right mouth full (sorry),. Any chance of offering to buy her off him? maybe he would be greatful to get rid of her, guess the only worry is he would get another one thinking that it would be different. Or kidnapping her . really i would speak to the helpline rspca and see what they say, it wont hurt to find out. Please please do keep us update about her. gillian
  6. Thankyou for the offer cheryl, slight worry you say you only have little dogs. The trainer lady said not to walk with to smaller dogs as he will tower over them to much and could worry them. What dogs do you have if you dont mind me asking?. We do have a lady next door but one that will help when she is around and walking her dogs, she has a white male terrier but long leg one and a spaniel girl, our dog doesnt seem to have problem with the girl just the boy but were told that if he growls to walk on and not say anything. The good thing is their owner is very understanding about it all and doesnt worry about it, (thankgod). She says the more good meets we have the better we would all feel. I have just come back from holkham, he walked for 1hr 45minute and now totally done in bless him, very cold thou out there. He will bark at the deer when close by . Do you walk at any of these big places cheryl?. Seems like everybody lives quite away from here. Thankyou again for the offer. Gillian
  7. Thankyou all Thats what i needed to hear , i have to say i am one of them owners that will do anything to make their dog very happy, even if it harder on me . Gillian
  8. Oh my god what is that women thinking of (celeste). The thing that really annoys me about that is say that the dog did bite her baby then the poor baby and the dog suffer it all. Its no good crying after the event. Gillian
  9. Oh my god that would put the wind right up me Sounds like you coped very well with it. Well done you. Gillian
  10. Thankyou all I will change his bakers dry food then, so what do you think i could change it to?, he only has about 100gram aday of this. I have to admit i dont no much about dry food. As for wet food he has 600gram of winalot or butchers, any advice here much welcome. I did change his food over very slowly. He does eat very well on this and his tip bits . Im sure it cost more to feed him than us ha ha . Gillian
  11. you are spot on olivea , nothing worse that feeling useless, and wondering if its you. Boy do i feel like that alot of the times in my life. But thats another story. Gillian
  12. Thats the best news, best dotty, It makes me really sad to see so many dogs in rescue centres at christmas, why do people kick the old dogs out and get new pups, so so upsetting. wish i could take them all, maybe if win lotto can move to bigger house and have more dogs . gillian
  13. Thankyou olivea, its hard to relax but im trying, just so worried incase he does actually bite another dog. It comes from our last dog she hates other dogs and we knew that from day one getting her as the rescue centre told us so we just avoid all dogs and went out of our way. And we had her for 9yrs so my body has got use to that, so when she died we thought we take on a laid back old dog ha ha well we all know that rescue dogs do hid afew problems but he did seem very laid back at the kennels , and was told he was no problem. His very loving thou, dont get me wrong, im home alday on my own while other half goes to work so our dog is my company which i love. Anyway we will work on it. Greygal (sorry dont know you name) we live near fakenham. Do you live in norfolk?. Gillian

  15. sorry if ive put this in the wrong place, i can see a feeding topic anywhere. Views on feeding wet tin feed or dry food. When we got our dog he was on adren grange dry food with abit of water. BUt he want eatting it up very well and picking through it, so we changed him to tin wet food slowly into three meals and he loves it. He does have two hand fuls of bakers senior as well. Ive always feed tin wet food with our old dogs but really like to know they are getting what they need from it. So any views, wet or dry? Gillian
