  1. Anyone watching Celebrity BB? There's lots of nobodies in there but loving the oldies - Julie, Cheryl, Colleen, Julian (who thought Ross Kemp was in the house) and of course the wonderfully wonderful Martin Kemp . Didn't intend to watch it but Friday is early finish and I've just watched it on 5*. Think I may be keeping an eye on progress!!
  2. My Good Lucks too merledogs!!! x
  3. Freecycle - so I join Freecycle and then have to join again through Yahoo? It's very confusing!
  4. Hugs to those that deserve them, those that need them and those that just plain want them! xxx My daughter is 27 years old, always had a job, had good cars since she was old enough to drive that she has paid off without problem, has savings, has ISAs but because she hasn't got a credit rating she and her partner can't get a joint mortgage - even tho he has one for the house they are living in!! So frustrating because they had found the perfect property! She now has a credit card to build up some sort of rating!! There is lots of talk about Australia as they both have qualifiations that would open doors - I do hope this doesn't tip the balance. I wouldn't (couldn't) stop them but that would break my heart..... BUT we'll not think about that just yet!!! My Ex came round yesterday and planted some laurel bushes in my garden for me. I am left with about 10 homeless laurel bushes..........is there a 'Shrub Rescue'???
  5. This is good but I will have to practice - 9% on my first try !!!
  6. I seemed to have missed a page of posts before my contribution - ooops!! Blame it on the moonlight, blame it on the good times, blame it on the boogie - but most of all the bacardi!! Merledogs -hope they have turned the tunes off and you have peace tonight.
  7. I've decided I only need £500k to give up work and live nicely so there was room for a bit of sharing there......but it still wasn't me! Sorry to hear about DWP have done to you - they are such t***s at times. Can you claim under the hospital travel scheme? Houndzrus - hope you enjoyed your trip to the hairdressers - you can't beat a bit of pampering!! Jazz-if it won't fit in the freezeer then you'll have to eat it! Start with the ice cream..... Yantan - sweet dreams tonight xzzzzz I have bacardioed tonight and will sleep very well. Day off tomorrow so will lie in and then spend the day with my boy Jack - I think a long walk on the fells is called for. My friend has called in through the day this week to let him in the garden and I know he has missed me by the way he greets me when I get in at 6pm. Never had a staffy before Jack came into my life as a rescue after Lesley (Red Rottie) died. He is such a babe. I owe him far more than he owes me - he saved my sanity.
  8. Good morning!! It wasn't me........ Back to work then - don't know what I would've done with 148 million anyway .................ha ha!! Have a lovely day everybody and enjoy the beautiful weather. At least you are not repaiting the flat roof in the rain Merledogs!
  9. " then i dyed my hair and decided i didn't like it as i looked like a match crossed with an oompa loompa so then had to dye it back again Lol" Oh Griff - there should be a photo to accompany that!!! I have taken four days off from my weekday job to cover for a girl taking leave from the activity centre and I am having such fun!! I'm in the reception and the place is buzzing with people and the phone never stops ringing. Love it to bits, although the pay isn't as good as the elf service and the hours are long but the extra money will go towards a holiday next year. I don't have a deepfat fryer, a union rep, a sil or clean my oven so I'll just send good wishes to all! x
  10. I feel the same about the father of the poor boy who was murdered in the Warrington bombs so long ago - Colin Parry. He was/is very self seeking. We have been treated to thunder and lightning this afternoon - after a group of 5 people left the centre on a one and a half hour pony trek!!! Luckily they saw the funny side (or said they did!!) I think Ullswater will be full now, Yantan!
  11. Good morning Merledogs - how's the head???? Happy Saturday to all. It's a lovely morning in Cumbria and I'm off to my Saturday job then my friend is bringing dinner round tonight. If the weather is fine we are going to eat in the garden and make like we are on holiday....Have to stretch the imagination sometimes or it will stop working! Ha ha!!
  12. What a terrible situation to be in when your friend cannot even enjoy her own home. If this is making your friend ill perhaps a trip to her own GP - maybe a clinician would be able to give some advice on who to turn to in your local area without disclosing confidential information? Just a thought x
  13. Thanks, Yantan. I like your executive decision, Merledogs! Good morning smiley faces to everyone, and thank crunchie it's Friday!!
  14. Merledogs, we can all hope that it will be his turn next! I may be joining you in a few weeks. My weekday job is with the NHS (not clinical) and due to the restructure the PCT is being disbanded to become a CCG who buys it's support services from the CSS (I kid you not) We are being matched and pooled into new posts but there isn't a new post at my grade........if I don't have a post by October then I'm out. I cannot lie - I've not missed a minutes sleep over it. (The only time I got angry was when my boss said it was easier for me than a colleague whose hubby is out of work and who have a 5 year old child - excuse me - they don't give out benefits for single ladies who live alone! I'm not worse off but I'm not better off either!) Live is such an adventure!!
  15. 50 Shades - I really did struggle through the first - didn't like his attitude and thought she was an absolute plank - and honestly couldn't see a plot. I thought the whole thing was boring and repetative. The author has a really good PR agent!! There are much better erotic novels out there.
  16. I have just got back from seeing Jools Holland and his Orchestra in concert and I was blown away. Totally amazing!! Griff - well done on biting your tongue - I'm not very good at doing that! Words seem to force their way past my lips despite my best efforts. Well done Houndzrus and good luck Owl!
  17. I missed the start of the ceremony as we were travelling but saw Mr Bean - I cannot stand Mr Bean and as soon as his sneezed into his hand (ye-uk) then the tele went off. I see Macca was also wheeled out and I really cannot watch that man either !! That does make me sound like a killjoy - I bet the fireworks were spectacular!! Good luck on your walk today houndzrus!! Hope everyone has a great weekend
  18. Good luck!! Hope the weather is good for walking. x
  19. Cheryl, if it's not done it's not done. Ironing or anything else. Everyone else will just have to help or put up with it. Once the clothes are packed they'll get creased again anyway!! I hope your appointment this morning has helped and that you have a lovely break. Merledogs - must certainly boost your confidence that there are at least opportunities! Griff - Hugs. It must be tough xx If we had a lake in Penrith it would certainly be full by now!! We have Kendal Calling (Music Festival) and the Penrith Agricultural show this weekend and it's going to be very soggy!!!! Wish I had a wellie shop.......
  20. Really sorry to hear about your redundancy, Merledogs. Enjoy your cider - tomorrow could be the start of a whole new adventure!! x
  21. Sounds like some rough times are being had so hugs to all. All I could think was 'poor horse'!!!
  22. OMGosh My daughter and her boyfriend have just got engaged!! He came to ask me for her hand on Friday the 13th (the secret was bursting to get out!!!) and took her walking on the Lakeland Fells today and proposed! This is just over a year since my eldest son got engaged and three weeks after he got married. I am soooo happy!!!
  23. Good morning!! I hate slugs - yeuk - I'll stick to poop scooping thank you! It's an absolutely georgous beautiful day here with blue sky from edge to edge. Hope you all have a good one!
  24. Jazz - are you just being greedy having both??? Really sad about Lab dog Owl - have you ever seen the film 'Black Sheep' about killer sheep? It's ever so funny if a bit grisley. My ex is a shepherd so I bought him the DVD ......... (This is my 100th post!! Wow!!)
