  1. 2 squirrels , and 86 kg of lugagge ( 5 bags , 2 boxes ) are safely back in the drey I got back around 5 am local time , and decided to have small nap which I woke from 8 hours later......
  2. My mum had that over xmas and she has resigned her self it never going away and then it did , fingers crossed you get the same loobie you are welcome back to us any time my love xxx not really unless you are in sunbathing on a beach or by a hotel swimming pool area or tourist bar where thats acceptable , tourists who do walk around outside those areas showing their bras , knickers or generally look they they forgot to finish dressing ( and you will see them ) are not viewed in very high regard by locals ( or me ) and it can cause re problems in some areas. I tend to advise no ultra tight fitting tops , cover shoulders ( cap sleeves are fine ) or vest tops with wider straps , knee length shorts ( I prefer below the knee personally ) when entering a temple you remove shoes , and your head is uncovered and that includes sunglasses on your head and trousers must be below knee length.
  3. Britain First have a very very very clever social media team who present fiction as fact in a way that lots of folk not just your Dad believe , there are some very clever anti Britain First groups that deconstruct the myths and downright lies as well as poke fun at the total and utter idiots complaining about "those moose limbs " Another Angry Voice Blog also a very informative article on Britain First http://anotherangryvoice.blogspot.co.uk/2014/06/12-things-britain-first.html in the morning I am at Physio first thing to get muscles de tightened , then having a facial and back massage at a spa , driving to Luton to meeting the MD of animal handling equipment company to collect 5 grab poles , driving to bournemouth to stay over night with one of the countries leading dog handlers / catchers and get training on catch poles and go to the pub ( as 2 separate activities for safety ) then wednesday its a hair dressers appointment for an up do , another drive to somerset for a garden party wedding where we stay overnight in a glamping tent ( slight change from Nepal ) then back to MK Thursday morning , family and friends dinner on Thursday evening and leave for airport at 4 am Friday I am getting on that flipping plane for a rest........ Sam
  4. the send them back to where they belong parties are all deluded nutters my parents are Irish , I was born in the UK and I am now a resident of Sri Lanka and have also lived and worked in Australia , where would they like me to go ? Ireland the only country I have not worked and paid any taxes to ( I don't personally pay taxes in Sri Lanka as I am unpaid but Dogstar pays taxes for the other staff ) Its total and utter nonsense and just does not hold up under any sort of rational examination , why should anyone in Ireland have to pay any thing for me or "take me back" I have spent under 6 months of my entire life there on various family holidays silly silly people indeed but its very scary how quickly people share things like Britain First on Facebook
  5. Facebook shows us the best and worst of people , it allows people that no one would listen to in "real life" a platform to vent , whinge , whine , moan. It also allows people and sadly organisations to portray themselves in a very different light and can create cult followings and blind faith, and people share things without giving it a moments thought ! Today I have packed and repacked 80kg of air luggage that Mark and I are bring and 150kg of sea fright luggage with another 100 kg of sea fright to do this week as an incoming shipment has been delayed . I am going home for a rest !!!!! Jayne , let me know maximum weight and maximum size you can bring and I will arrange the items to be delivered direct to you
  6. I know all suffering is relative and any problem is a problem if its your problem and we can't all take on the suffering of the world but lordy some of the first world problems some of my Facebook friends ( okay family , okay family by marriage ) face make me snigger long posts detailing tragic events like failing to get an online booking at a restaurant , hair straighteners not working and the horror of children playing hide and seek in the food hall at marks and Spencer's
  7. I don't recall that but often I can't remember what I had for breakfast ! I hope you win them and they get safety delivered this time My life currently is a whirl of Dogstar meetings and appointments and the packing of around 300kg of items for sea fright , I am going home to Sri Lanka next week for a bloody rest I can tell you ! I feel your pain I really really do , hope the cats protection can help
  8. Thats great news Jazz , to be pain free will make a huge difference for you
  9. flipping heck thats very scary indeed
  10. you are totally right a broken squirrel is no use to anyone !!!! I am going to schedule in all my physio into my weekly calendar and flipping stick to it and I am looking forward to getting this fixed and myself fit and healthy again. Oh lord I would have crapped my pants and thats without Jazz's jelly bears Not sure about butterfly but I am going to buy a kick board so I can get those legs moving !!! there is also a belt I can wear to do water jogging , it all looks nutter than squirrel poo but it works according to the water physio youtube videos I watched yesterday Now you know why they were so cheap !!! have you read the reviews ? maybe best to throw them out or limit your self to one a week !
  11. Very sorry for your loss 55 Miles , good grief thats awesome and no wonder you are tired , well done you I am with you on needing the tee shirt ! glad you got it sorted Good luck with finding her , hope you all stay dry
  12. Jazz re the sweets that gave you the upset tummy , are they like the Sugarless Haribo Gummy Bears ? if so GO VERY VERY EASY ON THEM !!!!! http://www.buzzfeed.com/michaelrusch/haribo-gummy-bear-reviews-on-amazon-are-the-most-insane-thin#.hwx3pP0PZ http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000EVQWKC/?tag=buzz0f-20 Jayne I think not seeing the object of your affection is probably the most sensible course of action , its hard to move on if you have an emotional connection to someone / something and unrequited feelings are very painful indeed. Alex your not sad at all , I brought an Andrew Marr book on the Queen recently and I am loving the history side of things , it was also a total bargain at a quid from Poundland Broken squirrel update , I have been to a UK Physio and she has confirmed both my legs are currently affected with the stupid quad muscle tightness thing I had last year and my left knee is inflamed again and its going to need months of physio , dry needling and medical pilates which luckily I can get in Sri Lanka. Rather sadly she suggests I stop swimming breast stroke as thats only making it worse so I am going to have to learn some new strokes . Lucky its not permanent and its all fixable with treatment and effort on my part so thats a huge positive but its still a flipping pain in the arse well okay pain in the leg...... When not hobbling like I have just got off a horse I have been a busy little squirrel for Dogstar , last week we spent a day at a Dogs Trust rehoming centre which was very informative and 2 days at the Worldwide Veterinary Service in Dorset . Luke Gamble the CEO had just been on the telly on the Nat Geo T Rex Autopsy special http://natgeotv.com/uk/t-rex-autopsy and he is just the same bouncy and gung ho chap in reality as he is on TV but he did not have a dinosaur in his office thankfully. Tomorrow I am collecting 1500 microchips from our supplier, lord only knows what the customs man will think if he sticks his head in my bag this time....
  13. Hello Loobs , how are you ? I miss you xxx
  14. I brought one in B&M last week for under a fiver !
  15. Please don't think you are wasting anyones time but I am glad you are feeling better
  16. I would suspect most Showers in Sri Lanka are better than mine so don't worry , now the toilets are a different kettle of fish altogether........................... do you have a walk in centre you can go to if needed ? I am sure your parents would rather you did mention any health problems to your Dr or consultant rather than waiting till they get back
  17. very sorry for your loss Suzeanna , I agree you don't know how much you will miss a powerful shower till you don't have one ! mine in Sri Lanka is so slow that I fill buckets of water to wash my hair with and yet my mothers shower nearly knocked me off my feet !!!
  18. Morning all from the UK where I think I am at risk of exposure its so flipping COLD shopping today to buy thermal undies I think !!!
  19. I checked the epidemiological report and until April ( last update ) there had been 17 reported cases of Encephalitis country wide compared to 11611 reported cases of Dengue Fever. I think you have to make a choice you are comfortable with , the general advice re mosquitos for travellers is try to avoid being bitten in the first place , with that said I don't use spray , or sleep under a net so I am not one to ask for advice on such matters !
  20. Is Jap Encephalitis being suggested again now ? it used to be in 2007 then it was optional for a while then it was a requirement after the war if you were travelling near the the IDP camps as there was a outbreak. Dengue Fever effects more people here than anything else and you can't be vaccinated against that , last year half my time where out with it in one go !
  21. Owl how is your knee ? I am back at the physio again tomorrow as mine is playing up a bit I am back in the UK a week tomorrow and my mum has announced she is coming to collect me from the airport
  22. 8 weeks ! that seems to have come round rather quick Mark and I will be in the UK between May 26th and June 26th so you will be arriving very shortly after we get back here then Mark will be in touch re your luggage allowance and items that would fit ! I am guessing you have 30kg flying long haul ?
  23. we were very lucky our flight took off 30 minutes late and we made our connection at Doha , my team mates from the USA who were leaving a few hours later had a dreadful time as the airport was even more chaotic when they arrived . It was a very strange experience checking in and half expecting more aftershocks , everyone had a eye on the nearest door in case we had to get out PDQ Its been rather strange the last few days walking around on ground that does not wobble..... I am back in the UK later this month for a few weeks , Grandma Squirrel says she expects me to manage to keep out of trouble until then !!!!!
  24. Happy Birthday for yesterday Murtle I am so damn tired , I have been home 3 days and getting 8 hours a night and I am still so damn tired I feel like I am wading in mud when I walk
  25. Bugger me , I had hit post on that laSt posT when the the quake struck ! I was sitting in a hotel lobby who had arranged a taxi for us to go to the airport ( we have been camping in there car park ) the building started to shake and things fell off the wall so Mark and I legged it to the car park with all the staff , it seems the quake was 7.4 and The epicenter was 78 km away. We have had aftershocks since I arrived but this was much stonger and it lasted for a lot longer We are at the airport now , we have been checked in bit it's total chaos but we are hoping to fly to Doha this afternoon and to sri lanka this evening Sam x
