  2. I hope you all have a great time. I do miss my favourite bulldozer he is such a lovely boy and it was a real pleasure to help him learn how to play flyball he loves him mum so much he was able to learn really quickly Good boy Bo too
  3. Thanks everyone The last 18 months or so have been pretty rough - but hopefully we are finally on the right track now and he will be walking before too much longer
  4. Sending tons of good thoughts - I hope he is sorted and home very soon
  5. Sorry - don't post here very often but as I still know a few people thought I would give an update on how my lad is doing these days! Gnasher has been struggling with walking for the last few months after being hit by thyroid problems whilst still recovering from spinal surgery leaving him with a fair degree of nerve damage Once the thyroid issues were sorted and his energy levels came back we tried a few things locally to try to get him walking again with no luck. We were then lucky enough to find a specialist rehab centre in Wales and Gnasher has been under their treatment for just over a month. There is a lot of work to do - both for him and us with several rounds of daily physio exercises, daily muscle stimulation exercises and twice weekly hydro treadmill sessions - all designed to build up his muscles in his legs and reteach him how to use his legs properly to walk. Thankfully he seems to be responding quite well :yay: despite not always being the most co-operative of exercisers Tonight we went back to see my regular vet for the first time since visiting Cardiff and he was pleased to see the progress we have made  Amazingly enough Gnash is a happy chap who loves nothing more than playing and bossing his humans around Here are a couple of pictures - hopefully soon I will be able to post a few of him standing and showing how well he can use his legs
  6. Lady has grazed these pads before when running indoors chasing balls whilst at flyball sessions. With her it seemed to be when she chased a ball and then tried to stop quickly to pick it up she would graze the pads. They always healed up really quickly with no problem and I was careful about not throwing toys for her if the surface was likely to be a bit harsh (she has also done it on grass) and used the protectors when she was running indoors at flyball to protect the pads.
  7. :GroupHug: for you and little Toastie hope he is around to boss you around for a long time to come
  8. Gnasher stood up to all the treatment really well - he was absolutely shattered though and only just recovered his bounce we are now deeply involved with trying to sort out physio and treadmilling locally under the supervision of specialists to carry on with his treatment I think things are just about sorted but waiting to hear from physio
  9. Fingers crossed that he soon puts the weight back on and stays fit free Gnashie sends his love to his little pal
  10. Excellent news - hope she is home soon enjoying her spoiling
  11. Tons of good thoughts for her operation
  12. it is only obvious with the benefit of hindsight I hope she is a little bit happier today
  13. I can very much relate to the feeling of wondering if you are doing the right thing as you watch her struggle You are doing your absolute best for her - no-one could love her more or do more to help and I hope she goes from strength to strength after her op. One other thing which occured to me not sure what the weather is like near you at the moment but here it has turned quite cold. Keeping Gnashers back warm is something which has made a huge difference to the pain he is in so putting a warm blanket over her might help to ease things a little
  14. Good luck at the vets Not sure if this is likely to help her or hurt her more but you could try a towel looped under her belly to take some of the weight off her back legs to help her move
  15. hope she is feeling better this morning. Gnasher has been having acupuncture for years now for back pain and I can thoroughly recommend it. Linky here to see if there are any vets near you who offer acupuncture vets
  16. what have you done to him to make him still he looks like he has filled out a bit now too
