  1. I haven't been on the board for a while, so sorry this is very belated, but we were so sorry to read about Brummie. These oldies break our hearts but life would be so dull if we didn't have them in it, even for just a little while wouldn't you say! Thinking of you Windy and Teddy
  2. Our little old yorkie has exactly the same problems, I know how you feel. What seems to work for a few nights then stops etc. We have tried many things. I have just started him on Fitergol, It will take about a month to start working, if it is going to, so I will let you know in a few weeks if any good!!!!
  3. Thank you for your enquiry. Yes, she has been rehomed, but I will keep your sister in mind, should we get anymore stray fuzzies at the practice (which no doubt we will!!!) Windy
  4. Lovely female, albino ferret looking for a loving new home. She is approx a year old ( she is a stray so this is a guess) and has suffered a fractured pelvis and left femur - all healed now and doing very well. She needs a home with someone who has experience of ferrets as she is a little nervous of being handled still, but is getting better. Would probably be ok with other ferrets, but she is to be homed as a PET ferret only, no working homes please.(due to the previous fractures) Looking for a home in the Herts/beds/northants areas as would like to carry out a quick homecheck on her new accommadation ......
  5. Teddy sends his love to you and Brumski, he is just the same, and had to have a similar thing earlier this year. All three elderly yorkies that have come to live with us have been the same about eyes, nails etc to varying degrees. You have this planned like a military manouver - all will be fine!!!! Windy
  6. We have an ageing Yorkie - Teddy, he has been with us now for just over a year.(he's believed to be about 14) He has got various joint and spine issues(doesn't stop him beating the cats to the cat flap though!!!!! Like your little one he can be a disruptive influence on a walk, due to the length of time taken on each blade of grass, or on the occassion where my attention was taken and thinking he would not wonder far, turned back to see - a tiny 'wonky' yorkie heading in the opposite direction at'warp' speed and had to send one of the collies ahead to head him off cause I couln't catch up quick enough ( i blame it on wearing flip flops that day!!!! But we also found that trying to stop him coming for a long walk with the others also caused a problem ( neighbours commented on whether we had shut a seagull in the house while we were out!!!!) But, we found a fab bag by COUNTRYMUN, that we take out with us now. It just looks like a casual bag, nothing 'iffy' looking like some of these pet carriers around at the mo, and we find once His Lordship has had enough, he goes in the bag for a bit of a rest. You have to smile at these older Yorkshire terrorists, they have such determination!!!!! Good luck with your little chaps problems Windy
  7. Hello, I could not help being nosey and reading your post. Have you tried AKTIVAIT by VET PLUS ( the makers of Synoquin) I have not tried it so far with any of my gang but a couple of Vet nurse colleagues have mentioned it to me,with a good report. Of course you should talk it over with your vet 1st, but just wondered if any one else had tried it. Regards Windy
  8. Fantastic coat!! Every distinguished Yorkie of a certain age should have a wardrobe to choose from! I glad I'm not the only one who puts 'snazzy' gear on their Yorkies!!! I have even made space in the coat cupboard and the dog's gear hang next to ours!!!!(perhaps I should not have admitted to that!!!)
  9. Thank you to you all for a lovely welcome. I will try the photo thing!! Probably best if I get the boyfriend to do it for me, I'm really not good at this techology stuff(makes me sound really old - I'm not just born in the wrong century - I think ) I'll post piccies soon!!!
  10. I do indeed!! I think the term is ' I am currently owned by' ... 1 collie, she is about 12 1 collie x, he is about 11 1 yorkie, he is 15 (only been with us for just over a year - we have a thing about gereatric yorkies - he's our 3rd) 1 yorkie x jrt, he's about 2 and been with us 6 months or so now. 6 cats of various ages 1 Amazon parrot ( or flying demon as we like to call him) anybody else out there with a parrot will understand!!! and last but no means least 2 ferrets Oh and the boyfriend
