  1. That's interesting BC, thanks for the info. I will ask my vet about that and if it is his glands getting inflamed I'll do some research on the food thing. If they are bothering him this much then I guess it could be a longer term issue. Typical, trailhounds are supposed to be able to eat ANYTHING!!!! Be my luck to have a finicky one!
  2. Thanks Border Collie. He has alway been fed Autarky, and has done very well on it. He has just gone out for a run on the beach with his Dad, and seemed quite up for it, so I will see if he will eat when he gets back, and keep an eye on him today. If he doesn't perk up I think evening surgery at the nice Mr Vet's will be the order of the day! I guess I just don't know the whole deal with anal glands (hmmmmm!) and don't know the ins and outs (pardon the pun) of it. If I take him to the vet I guess I will ask!

    Reiki healing

Hi all, I've only just found this board again after a few weeks (got all lost again when DP board went back online and went off again...) but now I have found my way home! Anyway, I am a Reiki Master too, and will be checking in here to send reiki to the requests here with the rest of you. I would like to ask if you could all send reiki to my furbabies too? I would appreciate the extra healing energy and support for them for a while. Sometimes I find it easier to work on other animals than my own..... A small thing - I think. Mungo has woken this morning with no appetite and is chewing his bum. He has a tendency to tummy upsets, so if he could get over this one quickly that would be helpful! Sammy - started having seizures in July, and we are still having fits every 2 - 3 weeks He is on a high does of phenopbarb and potassium bromide, and I dont' want him to go any higher as he is already kind of doped up. Have had some homeopathic advice and will start that hopefully in the next couple of days. And for the situation between Mungo and Sorrel, his beardie "sister". He is struggling to settle with her and they fight badly from time to time - I would love that siutation to be healed. Thank you so much Sammy being squashed and Mungo on top! Sorrel Deb xxx
  4. Mungo the trailie has been licking his bottom for a few months, and has had his anal glands emptied twice when being at the vets for another thing. The last 2 days, he has yelped very loudly when he has done this (once in the middle of the night last night - great for my sleep!) and jumped up to walk around. Night before last he vomited a tiny bit in the night, and this morning....and I must stress, for a trailie, this is the worst sympton of all.... HE SHOWED NO INTEREST IN HIS BREAKFAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even when I soaked it in warm water and made it all squooshy and smelly and appetising (not for me I hasten to add). Any ideas about this? I will probably call the vet anyway, and feed him rice for a day or so, but I know nothing about anal glands (which is a good thing I feel ;) ), and don't know if they would be painful enough to make him yelp, or to put him off hid food, or if they are unconnected, or if there is something else going on. His poos are fine by the way. If anyone has any comments they would be much appreciated, thanks! Sorry if you are eating your breakfast
