  1. Moaning Hello Mindy How have you been?
  2. Moaning England played better so deserved to win. And Wales aren't out of it yet. I support both but Wales is where my heart is. suzeanna You probably know this already but if you attempt to dig up/chop off bindweed, it will resprout from a tiny bit of root and they have a huge network of roots under the soil. The only way to kill it is to repeat spray with a glyphosate based weedkiller until it all the roots are killed.
  3. I've ordered Domino's - they have an offer on at the moment, 50% off if you spend over £15. I've ordered two so I can put one in the freezer. Domino's, beer and footie, bliss. Well it will be as long as Wales don't lose.
  4. Got tons of work done this morning. Finished for the day now. Am starvink but not going to make anything until my Asda shopping arrives - any time between 12 and 2.
  5. Moaning WFHing this morning then on leave this afternoon so I can watch the footie in peace. Was awake for 21 hours yesterday, absolutely knackered by the time I nodded off I did luff George Happy gotcha day Wispa
  6. Moaning I've been awake for an hour - couldn't get back to sleep so got up. I am hoping I can catch an hour on the sofa before I need to get ready for work
  7. griff I can't remember if I've mentioned this before but have you tried Buscopan for the cramps?
  8. Moaning Need to sort my own house out griff - so much to do including a major declutter of all the stuff I've hoarded over ten years. Wish this miserable weather would go away - just rain rain rain. I'm working from home today and Thursday morning (England v Wales Thursday afternoon so planned that strategically and took the afternoon off).
  9. UEFA has launched an investigation into the Russian fans' behaviour (not the English). I hope they get disqualified from the tournament but they'll probably just end up with a fine I've had a splurge on spring cleaning, starting with the kitchen. Knackered now so had some lunch (Roquefort and grapes, yum) and thinking what to do next.
  10. I was watching the England match last night. The Russian fans were letting off flares inside the ground and there was a loud bang. Not only was that incredibly stupid (did they not think that some people might think a bomb had gone off?!) but how the feck did they get them inside? Where was the security? Lots of trouble involving England fans as well. No doubt there are some England fans who are intent on causing trouble, but apparently there were a lot of Russian fans attacking England fans before the match, not necessarily those who were causing trouble, and apparently some locals were involved as well. Blame needs to be apportioned where it's due. From seeing some of the footage on tv, it was brutal and two England fans are in a critical condition. The Russian fans also climbed over barriers inside the stadium, possibly panicked by a loud bang going off in the Russian bit and some of them were attacking England fans as they ran through them. No security separating the fans, just a tarpaulin over some seats. The England fans were panicking and trying to run out, which caused a stampede. If you look at the footage you can see England fans squashed up against a fence which they were jumping over, despite the drop on the other side. Could have been catastrophic. Where were the police inside the ground?! It's sickening.
  11. Moaning Oh no griff, just what you don't need
  12. watching the footie. COME ON WALES!!!! The singing of the Welsh national anthem was absolutely beautiful. There's nothing else so rousing, regardless of the event.
  13. Moaning Hope Kota is okay griff Jayne I like your approach - people are often to complain if they have had service but if you get good service you should make it known Yesterday got woken at 4am with water coming through the bedroom ceiling again Only got the problem sorted 18 months ago. I'm going to go out there with my binoculars and have a look if there is anything obvious I can see like a tile which has moved. Then went outside and found my driveway ankle deep in water because it had rained so much that the drains had backed up, plus there were leaves blocking the water going back down again, so had to clear that out. Deep joy
  14. I've put some money on Belgium to win the Euros. Gotta be worth an outside punt. Did another couple of bets as well. Bring it on!
  15. I've been working from home today - hard at it since 7 and have only just stopped to have a break. If they think I'm doing any more today they can feck off. Boss was in an arsy mood this morning, which irritates me. I've been outside for ten minutes or so doing some brutal pruning on y Rhodos. Amazing how much damage you can do in such a short time. I hope they will forgive me when they're looking bushier next year.
  16. Moaning Bear in mind that if you get a kitten it could live for 20 years or more. I've got two cats who are both 18, one of which I've had since she was a kitten. Personally I would get an older cat which is already a house cat - which also saves you having to litter train etc.
  17. Moaning Weather here was beautiful again yesterday. and forecast says it's going to be 24 degrees today and tomorrow Glad to hear Blue is doing better Vet rang me yesterday with the results of Timmy's latest blood test. Turns out his white cell count has gone up by a thousand (whatever that means) so he doesn't need the bone marrow biopsy at the moment. I've got to make an appointment for another blood test in a couple of weeks so we can monitor him but it seems like whatever it was may be resolving itself I've already been out in the garden pruning this morning. Shortly going out to the front garden to water everything. Followed by breakfast, followed by taking the dogs out, followed by a desperately needed haircut at 9.30 and then lots more gardening. Very sad to hear about the death of Muhammad Ali Have a nice day everybody and don't get sunburned
  18. You're welcome griff Moaning I've only been back in work a day and can't wait for the weekend already.
  19. suzeanna you don't need Canesten for thrush. Get some natural yoghurt and a syringe and then at bedtime inject some yoghurt up yer chuff (excuse the graphic description) and if you do that for a few nights it will be gone.
  20. I'm gardening again today. Have planted out a deciduous Azalea in the front and then gave everything a good watering (including some stuff in my neighbours' gardens). I'm just planning where to put another couple of plants and then will be out digging holes again. I'm determined to get the garden the way I want it this year, but there's an awful lot to do.
  21. Moaning Glad you're back home Sam Sounds like life is a bit different and more challenging than it was back in Blighty, but you sound like you're taking it all in your stride Belated happy burpday Marion suzeanna I hope your back is better griff how could he not like you? You're luffly
  22. Afternoon. How exciting griff I spent a few hours digging over borders, digging in manure, transplanting roses and planting out a gazillion bedding plants. Was exhausted by the time I came in for lunch so crashed on the sofa and have only just woken up. There were five feral pigeons this morning. I hope they aren't going to start bringing tons of their mates because otherwise the neigbours will complain and I'll have to stop feeding all the birds If it were up to me I'd just feed all of them. I went to B&Q and bought 9 bags of compost/manure and a couple of small fuchsias. I also happened to see a japanese maple Red Emperor which I liked the look of but was a bit pricey at £42. Anyway, I pointed out that one teensy branch had a couple of dead leaves on and a few of the leaves had a bit of leaf scorch, so managed to get it for £30 Did that a couple of years ago with another Japanese Maple but that one had dead leaves on half its branches (got it for £20) and look at it now: This is the one I bought today - I'm going to shove it in a pot and hopefully it will look just as lush soon:
