  2. Hi just a quick update on Sandy now that he has been here for a week. He has settled in very well indeed, he gets on well with Olive and Freddy the grumpy greyhounds, he loves his walks and has the most ear piercing bark when he is excited, which seems to be whenever he thinks he is going for a walk. Fortunately we have very good neighbours who like our dogs. It never ceases to amaze me how resilliant these oldies are. Poor old Sandy had his owner die when he was in his twilight years and has to go in to foster with Maggie who looked after him so well, then he went for 2 weeks to Elaine, while Maggie went on holiday, was taken seriously ill and rushed to the vets for a major operation and now, a few weeks later, here he is asleep under our table quite happy. None of this would have been possible without the oldies club and their band of willing volunteers. We would like to thank everybody for what they have done for this lovely lad and to say that he now has a comfortable home for the rest of his life. Thankyou to the oldies club Chris, Les, Olive and Freddy
  3. Hi just a quick update Sandy got home with us about 4:30 had a quick check around the house and garden then curled up on one of the bean bags and had a snooze. We then took him out for a walk in Swinley forest with the hounds which he seemed to enjoy. He has had his tea and is now asleep on another beanbag. Apart from trying to mount Freddy which Freddy did not appreciate he has been very good, and has settled very well. Thank you for all the good wishes for him and I will post again in a few days when he has had time to settle a bit more. Chris Les Freddy and Olive
  4. This is for Elaine, I thought you might like to here about Lenny he is quite, a character, tonight I took him outside to meet one of our neighbours, who thought he was lovely while we were talking about him another neighbour a couple of doors up from us came out and opened the back door of his car as soon as Lenny saw this he ran straight over jumped into the back of the car and pointblank refused to get out. Eventualy I had to lift him bodily out of the car much to the amusement of the owner. About an hour after this I was putting some raw potatoes in pan to cook for our tea I dropped one potatoe and before I could pick it up Lenny leaped on it and ate it bless him perhaps we are not feeding him enough. He seems very happy and we love having him here with us and the greyhounds. Chris
  5. Hi Just to let people know Lenny is now living in Bracknell he has settled verry well considering he hasn,t been here 24 hours yet he slept on a bean bag next to our bed with our older gryhound Burt. He follows us every were round the house at the minute but his tail hardly stops wagging so we think he is happy. He has been for 2 walks in Swinley forrest and enjoyed that. We are very gratefull to the Oldies club for allowing Lenny to come and live with us. Chris, Les Olive and Burt
