IN MEMORY OF ROLO If you knew him I think you probably would know Rolo was sweat and gentle at times a little slow He was loving and gentle a great big softy I think Just say breakfast lunch diner he'd know the link My German Shepard accepted him with ease How that poodle chased played and teased He would bark and nip and rag quite rough But Berlin my shepard was, well, quite tough His coat was chocolate brown curly and tight When I bathed and cliped he was a lovely sight Would walk trot prance make passers by glance On a walk he would of't lead me a merry dance Once on a walk in the woods he bolted and fled Just wait till I catch you you brat, enough said I've no squeaky ball to attract you to play Not even a treat to tempt you to stay I walked through the woods squeek squeek I cried No one around thought I, yes there was, I sighed People were out walking, must have appeared a farce You lost your dog? he's back there you silly,arse Oh yes he was loving and gentle but it must be said Slow? No I don't think so, insisted on sharing my bed He'd growel and snarl when i said "go I'm not that soft" I think it was his way of saying "no you, you bog off" Much to write about my friend, he's not hear any more There was a hush, a hush and a knock on life's door He left too soon I often think about that dark July day But now and then upon my bed, "move up" I hear him say Ian Murray (mintdevon)
