  1. his is poor Roddy the Pom. He has lived in a loving family for three years. Prior to this, he had a very, very sad life. So much so, it took his owners one month to gain his confidence, all poor Roddy did for that month was hide under the table, shaking with fear; we can only guess what a very sad life this boy must have had in his early years. Three years on, Roddy is a very loving, gentle dog, with his owners and people who he knows, including children. He lives with a cat and gets on well with dogs. Roddy is now looking for a new home, due to no fault of his own (His current owners circumstances have changed, which means they can not have a dog and have had to make the heartbreaking decision to part with Roddy). Anyone who feels they can offer a home to five year old Roddy, need to commit to offering him a very gentle, calm introduction. There is a risk he may revert to his past fears; this could mean he will avoid people until he trusts them, any new owner may need to allow him to come to them in his own time. However, once overcome, this guy will make the perfect companion, he loves to sit on your lap, is good on the lead and derives much pleasure from interesting walks. If you feel you have the gentle approach and need a companion dog who will give you love in the abundance, please contact pawz at www.pawzforthought.org. http://www.pawzforthought.org/pawz/gallery.asp
  2. ten month old roxy lovely natured lives with two cats children please contact www.pawzforthought.org
  3. Thank you so much, and good night, going to speak to some one with a dog in need, Fennell, please speak with Kev when he visits you tomorrow, he will give you sound advice, and he will not be afriad to let you know if a behaviourist is needed, well done fennel and please do not let this put you off rescue sites Liz@pawz
  4. PLEASE be reassured this girl was assessed, so if nothing constuctive to say, please say nothing, sorry RYKAT, being a true member and respect many members deeply, if this type of comment is condoned I am shocked, SORRY, but I think this person tried this behaviour on another website and was struck off, Not you fennell and so sorry this type of comment has gone off the focus of your query, but you know now we will give you full support
  5. Again thank you so much, in addition to the rare dogs that have a kennel space only, we have great volunteers who walk the dogs, but the kennels are not ours, it is with a private boarding kennels, who we agreed to home with because of the owners attidute, and for some of the replys here, I simply feel very great sadness, we all try very, very hard, including Joe the boarding kennel owner, I have forstered 20 plus dogs for pawz and when we have went to Joe for advice, for the appropriate dog for our pack, he has never, NEVER let us down. Like many people Joe has the dogs welfare first and formost. thank you Many thanks Claire, are you the same claire from Nottingham area ???
  6. Thank you for you logical reply, lets restore the faith, and focus on fennel, pushka and her family
  7. You are trying hard and please be reassured we will give you full support, the majority of people on this site give great advice also, you just need to make sure you are reading the right advice. I would strongly suggest you wait until Kev has visited you tomorrow. Take care Liz@pawz
  8. Hi and thank you for providing advice, our website is www.pawzforthought.org, contact number 01915675194, this is on all adoption forms
  9. Once again We, Pawz have offered full back up, we simply would not home a dog without giving the pontential owner all the information, but, like many GOOD rescues, can not be held responsible once home. The main thing is 1 the owner is to recieve full support (As she is committed to the dog) Pawz ALWAYS accept the dogs, for the whole of the dogs life, Back. Maybe people want to keep to training advice and not opinion on rescues
  10. Thank you very kind words, the owner posted here for training advice, which we will give
  11. Hi I am a volunteer for Pawz for thought, be reassured we offer full back up, and if Puscha needs to come back she will. In fact another volunteer is visiting Pushca tomorrow. I am slightly concerned about your advice; volunteering for a caring rescue, I am at a loss why you would be so aggressive with your message, this approach simply does not help rescues, dogs in need and people simply wanting training advice Liz@pawz
  12. Benji has gone to hios forever home today
  13. http://www.pawzforthought.org/pawz/doggallery.asp?index=2 Hi my name is Benji, I love everyone, pets and people, simply wag my tail in a very, very gentle way,. I find myself here due to no fault of my own, my elderly owner has become very poorly. I am current living with another dogs, and a cat, who I do adore.( I Like cats but please do not tell my doggy friends as they will think I am a wuss) I love walks and sitting on your knee (but on my terms, also like time cosying on the sofa alone) . I find hearing quite hard (I am deaf), but this causes no problem, if you wave at me and let me know the attention is needed I simply come to you. I am 10 years old, but plenty of life and love to give, enjoy my walks and need a human companion. Please contact pawz for thooght and leave a message if you feel you are the ideal owner for me
  14. http://www.pawzforthought.org/pawz/gallery.asp?index=25 Yodi - This little dog needs a break we have just agreed to take him into our care. He is thoroughly screwed up not 100% sure why but can only guess; time will possibly throw light on his situation. he has had a rough time of it when I put the slip lead on him to take him for a quick walk he put his head down and closed his eyes shut very tight flinching it was at this point I decided that he needed a chance. He goes from being attentive and very soft and pliable when you have a treat in your hand to a screaming lunatic when he fixates on something. He apparently is very bad with cats and would hunt mice all day typical terrier we are hoping we can help this dog but at present all of our foster spaces are taken. He is we feel like this is going to be a very long haul. If there is a saintly dog lover out there who is competent with dog behaviour who feels they could help short term or long term please get in touch a short spell in kennels may give him time to unwind and get into a routine sometimes this can be beneficial but ideally this dog needs one to one urgently. With a strong minded determined person who can put in some constant work with him
  15. Great news, Robinson is out of kennels and in a foster space, so we can now get a much better assessment, early signs are, as we thought, a very charming boy indeed. Robinson is so named because he was found tied up and abandoned behind the Robinson Crusoe Cafe on the Long Sands Tynemouth. He was left with a bowl and a ball. He is good with other dogs and cats and likes riding in the car. He is a friendly dog who has been well cared for . We think that his grey muzzle makes him look older than he really is. This guy is a very loving dog, likes his walks and will make a family their perfect friend. http://www.pawzforthought.org/pawz/doggallery.asp?index=1
