  1. I saw this one too...Who would be responsible if this did go horribly wrong. Would the Mirror hold a front page heading "the mirrors labrador christmas present to a recent dog attack victim aged just 7 who is still wary/nervous of dogs go horribly wrong"
  2. Cheers Billy, dont know what happened to the link but that is the one i meant to post. link
  3. Our previous "golden chancellor" "no more boom and bust" Gordon. Who was never any good at maths (doesn't it show?)and brought the country to its knees is now backing the mirrors campaign to tackle dangerous dogs. But and a very big BUT.... He stopped short of agreeing to review the act. The jib pulling corrupt robing moron....I'll stop there Any way here is the article link HERE The point at the bottom i recon are pretty good but wary of point 3.
  4. I strongly agree with your reply here but wasn't the police informed about Kyle simpsons dog prior to the attack. Thats what i was refering too when i said the police failed.
  5. Why not??? No need to loose your rag on there just speak sense. The only reason the public are reacting in this way is due to beeb propagander.
  6. What terrible news again. I think we are seeing a repeat of Ellie Lawinsons case here. Because the police have failed again, their amnesty was unseccessful and failed to prevent this terrible tragedy they are turning the blame to the breed and again putting the fear off god in to people about the APBT.
  7. On aol they call them dangerous dogs. http://news.aol.co.uk/weapon-dogs-are-seiz...709060548256253 I have never known a 4 week old puppy to be dangerous.
  8. Not sure if DNB involved/knows about this one? Found it on u-tube and although the poor dog/owner was in the right he got the worst end of the stick due to the way he looked. Thank god he is back with his owner? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_SEwDJS2Aw...feature=related

  10. I seen this one. One of his dogs die from a snake bite and he want to avoid this happening to daddy. I have opinions like every one else on every forum on the internet. Some people agree some don't and i don't know who is going to agree and who will disagree. If no other training method worked i would rather give my dog a shock than see him lying on the floor dead from a snake bite.
  11. We have all seen Cesar Millan (dog whisperer) and daddy? His own rescue pitbull. Daddy An excellent example of the pitbull? Daddy has millions of fans all over the world yet look what would happen to him in the uk?
  12. So they claim more money on their expenses for a fitted kitchen in their second home than we earn in a year and it takes them this long to work out the figure? What are they all doing s******g their secretaries like prescott?
  13. Although our mp is independant he was in the labour party for many years and is labour through to the bone. I e-mailed him the other day asking him to e-mail Andrew to tell him i think he is doing a great job and to keep the good work up fighting bsl and the dda.
  14. I aint sure of anyone elses views on Andrew Rosindell but i think he is doing a good job and is totally against bsl. I have read that he keep staffies and they accompany him on his election campaigns.
  15. Thanks sooo much for all the kind thoughts. I couldn't take Cap myself, my uncle did it. I feel really guilty because my uncle looks like he have cried all day and can't talk about it. We are having Cap crimated and berrying him along side Rip, his best friend. I aint gonna hide the fact that i have been upset all day. Today has been a very difficult day. Thanks sooo much again for all the kind thoughts.

    Cap

Today we have had to make the dreaded decission to send poor cap to the bridge. He is 14 (15 on the 23rd March) and has struggled for a few weeks with his arthritis. Over the last week his breathing has got very heavy and we have been told by our vet that his lungs are filling with fluid. Today is going to be very very very hard but we know he is now suffering. He is not wagging his tail when he sees people and the look in his poor big brown eyes is soooo sad. Cap (avatar) has been with us since he was 6 1/2 weeks old when i was 13.
  17. Lets hope no innocent people or children was caught up in the bomb and only the people attending the dog fight. Lets hope that the organisers didn't have an easy death and suffered like they had planned for the dogs. Dog fight bombed
  18. Do any one know how this would affect guard dogs? My best friend has had 2 quad bikes solen at £5500 a time in addition to tens of gallons of red diesel, £1000s of tools, having his house broke in to and sentimental value items taken too. He now has 1 gsd and 2 border collies running loose in which have done a good job in keeping the theifs away for several months. Some thing our police have failed to do.
  19. I would like to thank every one who have joined the debate (although it was origionally about Victoria Stilwell). I have enjoyed this debate and i am not running away from it (wish i could continue). Unfortunately i am back to long hours at work now (after the festive holidays ) and will be unable to comment on a regular bases. To all
  20. Thank you, i think you understand my view. My last post explains a little bit more. I am trying to say exactly what you have said by there. If the government want to hit another breed with bsl i would rather see a system in which would allow responsible owners to keep their dogs. Not a repeat of 1991 (and ever since) where thousands of responsible owners are affected and thousands of dogs destroyed for the way they look.
  21. Either i have not explained my self properly or a few of you have miss understood. At the end of the day the government lay the law. They are not going to drop bsl all together because that would be like them saying "we have searced Iraq top to bottom, east to west and not found any weapons of mass destruction. We are bringing our troops home tomorrow." (hundreds of troops dead, tens of thousands of civilians dead and billions of pounds wasted). How stupid would this make them look after attacking them on fake dossiers for weapons of mass destruction. I share the same views as all of you and thats why i post on the forum. What i am trying to get across is, Our government might meet us half way where there is still a form of relaxed bsl in place together with our ideas but THEY ARE NOT going to drop bsl all together just yet. Dropping bsl all together would make them look like the idiots they are. (just like my comment above on Iraq). If they dropped bsl they would be massively criticised for all the innocent dogs that have been slaughtered through bsl. They are not going to allow that. I completely agree with rumpoles comment on educating owners. This is the direction i have been pointing in. The classes i have mentioned i am pointing in the direction of educating the owner on the points you have mentioned and many, many more. So some one agrees with part of my idea.
  22. Please take note of my previous comment. My suggestions/comments all along have not been right from wrong but realistic suggestions considering our government situation and attitude. If The Sun kicks up a stink and suggests another breed being banned. Joe public the sun reader will not see any other options and believe this is the right solution. The government will quickly ban this breed to show Joe public they are doing some thing about the attacks as they want Joe public to vote for them. Didn't this happen in 1991? I remember the pit bull with its jaws open and the bit on the jaw lock etc in one of the papers. I know many people including dog lovers who don't like the pit bull due to all the negative press from that time. There is not many people out there who would like to see bsl removed more than my self. But... like i've said the government are not going to admit their mistakes just like that and drop bsl all together. The only chance of that is knocking one brick out at a time hoping eventually the wall falls down.
  23. Thanks for link, thats some thing i was not aware of. Not read it fully but perhaps a few ammendments and made compulsory for certain breeds...........And perhaps if proved successful.........BSL relaxed. (Instead of breeds being banned and wiped out. Owners could be made to attend these courses/classes).
  24. Perhaps centralised at the kennel club? The kennel club could put together these lessons and gather what imfomation should be included. They could recruit and train their nominated trainers (approx 5). These few trainers could then train people wishing to become these dog assesors (what information to give, how to prepare the lessons etc, self funded by the individuals). Just a suggestion mind. Please bear in mind that as with any job, all recruits should have several years experience of dog ownerships and selected by cv, what handling experience they have had etc. I don't always give the best suggestions. Any one else with any more suggestions or their own views? My view is bearing in mind our thick and dictating government too. They are not going to just accept "well i had a pitbull and it never bit any body". or after a certain breed attack "i've got that breed of dog dog which is a total softie. Blame the owner." They are in a similar situation to John Majors goverrnment were in 1991. Desperate for votes. They don't get those votes and they loose out on a very, very good salary and very, very good perks.
  25. I totally agree on the socialising bit and think this is some thing that should be included in the owner training (as well as advised in the dog training). Many, especially new owners don't know how important socialising is and should be educated on the importance of socialising before their purchase. Good luck to all the dogs and their owners up in court.
