    Eggheads

Maybe they say 6 to a team but one is a standby in case of illness Good Luck, will be keeping an eye on things and supporting you all the way.

Go guys and girls, this would be brilliant, just a suggestion but why dont you apply in the normal way but also write and ask them if they would like to do a one off doggy special so there is a category on all things canine and with of course The Oldies Club being the opposing team, it would be good TV and publicity for them and of course good for the OC as well.
  3. Amy I have a problem I need one that says I failed by fostering someone else's foster dog
  4. You might be a failed fosterer but thats the best kind
  5. Would some wheels help Charlies mobility? I know someone who loans theres out to rescue dogs who needs them, I believe they are currently in use but i could ask them to consider Charlie should they come back to them in the forseeable future.
  6. I was doing a show on behalf of ESSW on Saturday and I knew Martin and tracey were going to be in the area if Bailey was well enough for a short holiday so he brought him to see me at the show. I can't thank them enough, he is so loved and adored and not just by mum and dad but also by Tracey's Mum and dad to, he is one spoilt doggy and the OC couldnt have found him a better home. Onto the piccies and no BBB visit would be complete without a stolen ball photo which he'd stolen out the prize box and of course was allowed to keep, I still can't turn that dog down especially when he smiles. We all chatted loads, played with Bailey lots and he was having such a good day, full of life and so very happy although apparently he can be like this one minute and almost not recognise anyone the next minute, dementia is so hard an illness to cope with. All my thoughts are with you Martin and Tracey you'll do right by him I know. I had a little cry after they left, both for the pain they are going through and also cause Bailey is such a special boy and will always hold a place in my heart. Live every second of every day.
  7. Lots of positive thoughts coming from this way, hugs to you for you to.
  8. Meds seem to have Bailey back to being his usual ball bouncing self during the day but not so well come the evening, they are going back for a medication review this week and may have to increase his dosage, but at least he has showed some improvement which I think means they are on the right tracks. Come on Bailey, I'd love to meet up with you next week when you head down South for your hols, especially ifI can throw a ball for you again, just a little way. If things work out I promise I'll get some photos of Bailey for everyone, just need to keep thosepositive thoughts coming I think.
  9. They have been to the vets and had his pain meds changed (Michelle he always did have bad arthritis and pain could definitely be a factor)and after 24 hours they can then start his dementia meds, fingers crossed for them all.
  10. I've had an email from Bailey's owners this morning, he has been quite poorly, you can feel the pain they are going through at the thought of losing him in the email so if anyone could send some positive thoughts Baileys way and also to Martin and Tracey at what is obviously a very painful time for them I'd be so grateful. I just thought you might want to know that Bailey is very ill at the moment - we're pretty sure he has some severe dementia. A lot of the time I don't think he recognises me or Tracey, and he only wants to know us if we have food or a ball, like he would any stranger. If we are on a sofa or a bed he won't join us, and if we are downstairs he wanders off to bed on his own for the night. Any time we try to stroke him he snarls at us. If one of us walks to the door he follows expectantly, as if he's waiting to be taken somewhere.... we're pretty sure that he's forgotten who we are, thinks we are his captors, and is desperate to go back 'home' to the person who had him before you. Add that lot to his increasing pain in his legs and I fear the worst pretty soon. We've taken him to Brean for three weekends this year and have another weekend booked from the 18th-21st September, although in honesty I think we'll be lucky to make it. The vet says there are drugs to try to combat dementia so we will give them a go. If they fail though, there's no real point in all three of us being unhappy. Ball Bouncing Bailey was such a special foster dog to look after, he won the hearts of both me and Rob and I'm sure many of the OC committee and followers to, sending positive thoughts Bailey old boy don't be to harsh on your Mum and Dad, they love you to bits.
  11. ESSW are having a companion show in West Hythe Kent on 30th August, if you want the organisers contact details I'll happily PM you with them I am sure she wouldn't mind OC having a fundraising and publicity stall there if its not to far away for you, looking at the map it might be
  12. I'm so sorry to read this, huge hugs for you, the pain does ease eventually I promise, Tess will be looking down on you.

    Dog Coats

I have two dog coats herem, used but good condition, one greyhound style the other a bit smaller and deeper cut if OC could make use of them just lte me know where to send them
  14. I don't know wether to say hooray for getting so many dogs rehomed in one week or to say oh no you're gonna need more fosterers. A bit of both i guess.
  15. Thanks for your thoughts everyone, its been a very quiet and strange week without Ollie by my side, Rufus has missed him and keeps laying on his bed and at one point was found sitting outside one of the bedroom doors that was shut, he thought Ollie was in there and when he went in and there was no Ollie he looked so confused. Thankfully we've got the new house to keep us busy which has helped lots but I just wanted to say a thank you to The Oldies Club for letting him share my life for two years and all their helpers who helped to get him down to me two years ago. I was blessed with having him for so long.
  16. Thanks everyone, I've got a strong feeling he'll be back in the arms of his original Mum now, where he should be, I just hope she doesn't mind sharing him one day.
  17. Ollie woke up this morning and was very dizzy, he couldn't walk and could barely stand so we made the call. He went to the Bridge just after 8 this morning, I can see you running and running already Mr Oll's, I'll miss you old boy.
  18. Sorry Fee I'm not having much luck either with my local contacts, I'll keep trying though, will stretch out a little further afield.
  19. Thanks all, Ollie says to say a special thank you to DitzyLips, he is currently sleeping off the roast chicken he had for lunch (no bones), not that he's being spoilt or anything like that
  20. Have you seen about the similar thing that happened to Sally (Daisy and Missy)on spring thing, I don't know if you live anywhere near her, definitely report this to the police and to the dog warden, I would have been petrified.
  21. No mischievious photos this time but I'll let him off just this once
  22. Despite his recent diagnosis of liver failure I am so pleased to say Ollie has made it to his second Gotcha Day, every second of every day is so precious to us at the moment and I really didn't think he's live to see today but he has We celebrated with a small beach walk this morning, pictures to follow as soon as photobucket starts to behave. We love you Mr Olls despite your incessant gobbiness in the van and your loopy moments we wouldn't change a thing about you.
  23. Sorry to hear this Elaine, lots of warm comforting thoughts for you both
  24. Ollie's got to go back for more blood tests tomorrow, it appears his liver may be failing
