  1. I hope the osteopath has helped murtle Sam, sorry to hear idiots are being idiotic I would say ignore them, but thats easier said than done. Jayne, I hope you're feeling better today I spent yesterday at an agility show with Logan and Kia. My face is now a rather fetching shade of pink, having forgotten to put any sunscreen on I managed to get my mum to video a couple of my runs. - that was clear and we finished in 2nd place - he knocked a pole but was really good otherwise
  2. Morning. I had most of my hair cut off yesterday - I used way too much shampoo this morning, and I've tried to tie my hair back twice today before remembering its too short for that now I also picked up my new glasses yesterday, so nearly don't recognise myself when I look in the mirror Glad Ana is turning out to have been a good choice Jayne
  3. Owl, glad you got it checked out - sounds painful
  4. I hope the tattoo has gone well griff And how did the towels turn out? I think I'm building up to a tattoo - I've wanted one for a while, but haven't been brave enough. I now know what I want, where I want it, and have someone local who can recommend a good tattooist, so now I just need to actually go through with it! I hope the pencil packing is going well Yantan. I'd like it to be 17.30 now - I've had enough of work for the day. Slept badly last night so I'd quite like to go home for a nap before dinner
  5. Morning Had a lovely weekend enjoying the sunshine. Agility show all day Saturday, and then gardening yesterday. I pressure washed the block paving around the shed and it look so much better Jayne, I hope the week flies past - new cars are always exciting! Glad to hear Baddie and Bruno got on well together - it makes things so much easier if you're not having to worry about dog interactions.
  6. Morning. Really like that cut Alex. I'm also contemplating going from long to short - but my hair is wavy and uncooperative so I'm scared of having it not long enough to tie back if its being argumentative! I've had my (very, very overdue) eye test this morning - I still have eyes My prescription has changed a bit, so I've ordered new glasses
  7. Sam So sorry to hear about Errol
  8. Oh dear Jazz - sorry to hear you still have fleas. When I was in there one Tuesday our vet mentioned its been a bad year for fleas, as the weather didn't get cold enough this winter to kill them off like it normally does. Have you been using flea treatment from the vet, or the stuff you can get without a prescription? The stuff from the vet is stronger so it would be worth calling and seeing if you can dose with that so soon after what you've already used. Jayne - I hope Ted's tummy improves, and sympathise with your frustration. My mum is always reluctant to take Shadow or Morse to the vet because 'they're old and I wouldn't want to put them through any extensive treatment or investigations.' My view on it is that she can still take them to the vet and get pain killers / prophylactic treatment, and the vet won't do anything she doesn't authorize, but she'd just rather not take them at all and treat at home herself.
  9. Jazz I hope the hip pain eases. Glad to hear some of you are managing to enjoy the sunshine Suzeanna, you're neighbours approach to the fence sounds a right pain. I hope he gets all the work done soon.
  10. Morning. Sorry - haven't been keeping up as I've had a migraine for over a week Please take as necessary - I have been reading and thinking of everyone. Thankfully my head seems to be a bit better today - am back at work after taking Monday off sick and working from home yesterday. Took Logan to the vet for his boosters yesterday - he was very good He's normally a bit of a ninny at the vets, as he's scared. Yesterday he hid behind my legs but then let the vet do her thing without any panics. Somehow he'd managed to go a whole year without seeing the vet, which is quite definitely a record for him - he's rather accident prone. Must be growing up.
  11. Glad to hear he is doing well so far, and hope his first night back home is peaceful.
  12. Hope everything is going well Griff Alex, better that the dogs are somewhere you're happy with - I'm sure you wouldn't be able to relax if you had any worries, so better to go with your gut feeling. The only kennels we've used in the UK were the quarantine kennels that Biggles and the cats were in when we moved to the UK. They were pretty grim, but there wasn't much choice. We were back at the kennels this weekend for an agility show, and they're still pretty grim. They do regular boarding too but I'd never use them - they dogs don't get walked, they aren't shielded from other goings on at the sight (pet shop, grooming, agility barn, agility field and private dog walking field) so the dogs are constantly being stimulated by things going on that they can see but can't get to. Not very relaxing for the dogs at all.
  13. Marge, so sorry to hear about Cherry Naughty Archie! How exciting for you daughter suzeanna, though I can see why it was a shock for you
  14. Alex Sorry you are missing Max Glad to hear Suzeanna is home safe Griff, hope you hear back from your consultant soon
  15. Morning. Suzeanna, will be thinking of you today Fingers crossed for a smooth op for Dex What an idiot Griff. I've had a few people who have known Logan for a while be surprised that he's a cross breed. The comment is always along the lines of 'he's so lovely I thought he was a proper breed'. As if mutts can't be lovely! Whatever the breeding or mix of a dog, its the personality that counts.
  16. Kia was apparently channelling Sophie's spirit on yesterday's walk - it took 40 minutes to get her back on lead at the end! Just like Sophie, she was in sight pretty much the whole time, just having too much fun chasing rabbits to let me close enough to grab her It's exactly what Sophie used to do, and not something Kia has done before. She was shattered when we got home, and slept all evening. I hope Dakota's tooth is easy to sort out - Logan is missing one of his front teeth where he snapped it off when he ran head first into a labrador It hasn't caused him any trouble, but canines are bigger teeth, and if her breath is smelly, best to get it checked out.
  17. Snow, baddie is  We're having a quiet weekend. I'm trying to think of somewhere dry-ish we can take the dogs to let them off for a run, but I'm drawing a blank. It's 3 years yesterday that we said goodbye to Sophie, so I've been having a look back at old photos and remembering some good times
  18. Buster I hope the meeting goes well snow Flooded garage isn't good Murtle. I hope nothing important gets damaged.
  19. Suzeanna Sorry the news wasn't better, but it sounds like they have a good plan to get it sorted as soon as possible. A lie down sounds like a good idea, your head must be whirling
  20. Well done Griff and Dakota Suzeanna - am thinking of you today
  21. Glad the dentist went well snow Is anyone watching any of the Olympics? As a Canadian, I feel I can say it is going rather well I do miss the snow.
  22. Suzeanna How was the curry Jayne? Good luck at the dentist snow Went to bed at 5.45 yesterday, and got up this morning at 6.30. I should be feeling well rested, but would quite like to head back to sleep for a few hours
  23. Morning. Hope everyone has had a good weekend. Jazz Nowt wrong with taking pills for depression. I've been to the doctor for a migraine med review. Got a different type of triptan to try, as the sumatriptan has been making me ill every time I take it recently. Staying off the daily preventatives for a while longer until we're finished with IVF related things (we had another unsuccessful try in December/January, but have a couple of frozen embryos to transfer). Its one of those situations where if I were to get pregnant the migraines I'm getting now would be worth it, but at the moment it all feels a bit whats the point, as it hasn't worked yet. Was off work with a migraine on Friday, and heads not good again today On a more cheerful note, its sunny Hopefully it stays that way for a while.
  24. San, big for you and your OH. My dad was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes about 5 years ago. His is well managed by diet and lifestyle changes - was scary at first, but now just seems normal. Tis freezing and miserable out there. Normally I wouldn't be too complainy as I'm warm in the office, but we still have portaloos due to the drains flooding, so I've just had to traipse out across the car park for a wee.
