The Ark would like to thank everybody for their concern over Tyler, both those who've posted on here and those who have emailed or rung us with suggestions. Today has been a busy day on Tyler's behalf involving long consultations with our vet's behaviourist, who knows Tyler well and Tyler's original owner and family. As a result we have learned more about his early life and been convinced by what we've been told that he needs to go home to his former owner. Being separated from her and spending the last few months in a new home has done him so much harm and it seems he can't survive without her. It's likely that rehoming him again or finding him a foster home will be just too much for him to cope with. His original owner's situation has improved since she handed him in and she knows him better than anybody so she's agreed to let him go home with our support and that of the behaviourist. Any treatment that's deemed to be needed and appropriate will be given, either traditional or complementary, and we will all be holding our breath that this will be the answer to Tyler's prayers. We've all had sleepless nights over Tyler and just hope that we are doing right by him but without his beloved owner, life looks hopeless for him. Once again, many thanks to everybody who has contacted us in any way about Tyler. We're grateful for the support, encouragement and possible remedies.

Tyler hasn't lived with another dog before. He's not too happy with the noises of liviving in kennels but hasn't shown any real aggression. However, he's so dependant on his human owner that we think he would probably be quite jealous of any attention another dog in the home would get, although this hasn't been tested out.

I don't suppose she wants two Collies, does she? We are rehoming a pair direct from home due to a family break-up. They are an 8 year old male Rough Collie and a 4yr old Border Collie. The lady wants to keep them together if at all possible, although if push comes to shove, she would consider separating them. She's having to move house on 1st June, so they're going to have to come in to us then. If you're interested, I could pm you the details.

What gorgeous dogs. I bet they didn't bark as much as Rupert that you and I transported a few months ago!

Here she is! A fortnight on from that first awful photo. She's hardly recognisable as the same dog. The vet is really pleased with her and she can go to a new home very soon. All we have to do now id find one for her!!

Molly went to her new home today! The lady who adopted her has four other dogs and has rescued and fostered loads over the years, so she's in excellent hands. She's getting along really well with the other dogs, has spent some time investigating the house and garden and has now bedded down in their bedroom alongside the other dogs. So this is a really happy ending for her. I've asked her new owner to send in a rehoming story when Molly has settled in, so keep watching and thanks to everybody out there for all their care and concern about her.

An update on Stormer. She's already beginning to gain some weight and doesn't look quite as painfully thin. She's been to the vet for a health check this week and he kept her in overnight to allow a thorough check up. She's on antibiotics for an infection in her claw beds and is very constipated, (Heaven knows what she's been fed on!) He says she's essentially perfectly healthy, so once these two things have been sorted, there should be no stopping her on the road to recovery. You'd think she would have little or no energy having been so starved, but she's quite a lively girl and so friendly. I'll post a photo of the new, improved Stormer in a few more days when she's looking even better.

WELL DONE. Oldies!! I know how much work is involved because we're looking into it for our rescue.

Well, that was supposed to have a photo with it! There's not much point to the posting without the photo! I thought I'd done it all right, but obviously not, but I don't know where I went wrong, so will send it in for somebody to help me out here and put it on for me.

Just look at what has just come in to the Ark this week! Apparently the reason was that there is a new baby in the house. She's recently had pups and that's what has caused her to lose weight!!!!! Perhaps if she'd been fed......... She's supposed to be a Staffy X and she's the most loving and trusting girl. It's absolutely sickening.

I thought it was about time I updated everybody who's been so concerned about Molly. The lady's husband returned from his travels and has point blank refused to have another dog in the house, so she's had to back out sadly. So I contacted the next lady on the list, got the home check completed and she's coming for Molly on Saturday! This wonderful lady has waited patiently, saying that if Molly was meant to come to her, it would happen. It looks like it really was meant to be. Meanwhile, Molly is a different dog these days, much more outgoing, enjoying the company of other dogs, putting on weight and her joints are strengthening. She trots off on her walks with such enthusiasm compared with the lack-lustre little dog of a week or two ago. I'll confirm when she's gone and hopefully get her to post some post-adoption photos as she first saw Molly on Oldies.

OK I give in!! We were quick, but not the fastest. I still think we did well and it got people telling their rehoming tales.

I rather think it might be lip service so he thinks he's involved in the decision. My kind of lady, that!!!

We had a Border Collie brought into the Ark on Monday afternoon. Less than an hour later a lady turned up in tears. Her Border Collie had just died and she was donating his bedding and food. One of the girls mentioned we'd just got one in and she reserved it immediately. The home check was done first thing yesterday morning and the lady came to collect him straight away. So he was reserved in under an hour, homechecked and collected in well under 24 hours! The dog can hardly have been aware he was ever in rescue! Can anyone beat that?

Well, Molly's prospective owner came to visit today with her other 2 dogs and all went very well. She loves her even more now she's seen her and wants her. But she needs to square the addition of another dog in the family with her husband first and he's abroad on business at the moment and she's had problems reaching him, so it may have to wait till he comes home in just over a week. Then she'll be back, if he agrees. She really can offer Molly the environment she needs, so we're happy to wait, particularly as Molly is really blossoming now and seems happy and settled with us, is gaining weight and responding to us. Whilst we want to get her into a home as soon as possible, we don't feel the same urgency as when she first arrived and this home feels like it's worth waiting for. There are a couple of possibles in the wings if this doesn't work out, too.
