  1. Combed a football size bundle of hair out of Harry.

We have some sunshine today , for a change, but still a cold wind. I am fed up with this cold wind. It has been around all winter.

I should be doing some gardening but it is too cold.

  2. We had a good run down , Freezing fog on Sunday morning but it quickly cleared.

Good run home. After a fidgiey morning Harry has a long pee at lunch tine breaj settled down to sleep for the rest of the journey.

Got home about 7/30 pm- 800 miles there and back.

Have had a nice steady walk round the neighbourhood. Harry thought he should speak to everybody we passed..

he is very riendly to everybody so far, including a litle staffy who was desparare to say hello.

  3. Yes, not an insurmountable problem. Probably an inconvenience now that family have moved on. He is in foster with 3 Goldens.

When I lost Cleo I thought I would not have any more dogs due to age but , having had one or more at a time since 1972 it just didn’t seem right without a dog. I have trained and competed in obedience, studied dog behaviour due to having a reactive dog, and dabbled in agility. I have seen many changes for the better in training dogs.

  4. Will do.

I don't know where we will stop. My son is driving so I am leaving it to him.

Harry was surrendered as 'he didn't get on with dog next door'

Foster home report he has not put a paw wrong since he arrived- the perfect guest.

  5. I have been getting organised to collect my new companion, a 9 year old golden retriveer.

A 8 hour journey tomorrow to Norwich are and 8 hours banc on Sinday with Harry.

  6. Front door lock jammed this morning and I couldn't lock it.   Locksmith came and fiddled about with it to get it working. The problem is tyje PvC door is moving due to heat of the sun on it and then it doesn't line up with the locking mechanism.

The sun shines on my front door from early hours.

Once the sin moves round the door adjusts back.

  7. Thanks owl, that is what they are. The site I looked a tonly gave the male version.

The two males come together and the two females come together.

Sunny but cold today but it is nice to have some brightness after several dull days with  ramdom rain showers.

    I bet they did!

Definitely a change in bird activity, they are starting to pair up early. Snowdrops coming out everywhere.

My first three snowdrops bloomed on New years day. Now there are several.

I have had one  one bullfinch and one bird greyish colouing with black cap on head, same size as bullfinch. This week I have teo of each.

  9. One side of my back fence started to sway in the wind  this morning.

Got a joiner out to stabilise it  so it doesnlt  fall down. Will have to get new posts when the weather settles down as the posts have  broken- probably rotted.

  10. All fine here. A but windy but I am in a sheltered  position.   Being in a square the houses at  side of the qsuare protect me  abit.

Two large pots blown over on the back garden.

Glad that the trees birdring the back garden not blown down , They are tll and neglected but maybe the covering of ivy help them up.

We have sinshine now but still  some wind.

  11. Been out to pick up prescription and the wind in baltic. The sun is warm if you are out of the wind but the cold wind cuts right through you.  Even with a hat on my head was cold and my face was freezing cold.

I am glad to be back in the warm.

I stocked up on few items as forecast is for snow for us tomorrow and rain and gales at the weekend

  12. I love my air fryer. I have a two person size bought from Asda.

It is just a small fan oven so anything you would cook in the oven , you can cook in the air fryer.

uses less electricity than using a large oven for a small portion.

Very handy for a quick  ready meal.
I find with mine it cooks quicker than normal so I keep an eye on what’s cooking until I get to know how long it takes.

I use foil trays for small containers

  13. Some blue sky and white fluffy coulds so bedding out on line. Probably won't dry but will get some fresh air.

I also get half price electric this afternoon so the rest will go in the tumble drier.

Carrot and coriander soup in the making.

Had a birthday dinner last - very nice.  Now to get back to more healthy eating after Christmas and New year.

  14. Been bitterly cold today so have not ventured further than the bird feeders.

Been reading about Dogs on the Street in Essex.  ( DOTS)

An organisation who help the homeless with dogs. Volunteers  go out at night to give  help and vet treatment to the dogs of the homeless.  They have a sanctuary where they look after the dogs of the homeless who  have to go into hospital and the dogs of those who have to go into hostels during the very cold weather but cannot take their dogs with them.

    An admirable thing to do.

Settling down  now to watch next instalment of the Traitors.

  15. Wet here but too cold. Seems we can have dry and freezing or wet and warm.

I am with you Eve, I never used to feel the cold but this year I  do seem to be needing more jumpers and more heating.

  16. Frosty this morning but sun is shining.

My garden hasn't been dry for weeks so maybe it will be able to dry out a bit.

Waiting for an Evri delivery at lunchtime.

Not sleeping too well and I don't know why. anyone got any tips or remedies to help? I can barely function at the moment because of it.

I found Bach's Rescue Remedy  worked when I woke up in thenoght and my mind was racing.

I used the normal one but I see they have a nighttime one now. I think it is just a capsule with 4 drops instead of 4 drops of the normal liquid.

For getting to sleep I used Kalms Night. It took about 6 weeks to work.

Nothing worse that not being able to sleep. The more you try the worse it is.

Now, I just read for an hour and find I can drop off   Same, if I waken during the night and can't get back to sleep. A hour's reading can sort it.

  18. Family heading back to Romania. It seems  very quiet now.

Went tp shops to exchange a Xmas present and it was mobbed.

Had to park att he opposite end of the car park to where I was going.  Shops packed with bargain hunters in the sales.

  19. Welcome back jazz

Wet and miserable here yesterday but we seemed to be in the best little pocket of Scotland, weather wise. Chaos north of us and A9 main route north, was closed due to cars stuck in s now or floods or tree down . Despite warnings not to travel so many did , but ended stuck in cars for hours.
we do not respect the weather enough.
