  1. Hi - thanks very much, I'm pleased you've shown the photos as I couldn't get them to show, just the link! He is lovely, isn't he?! Like a cuddly teddy bear .......
  2. Benji is a 12 month old staffie boy, currently in one of our foster homes with two other dogs. He is gorgeous, a big softie who loves everyone and everything. He is fully vaccinated. Benji would make a lovely family pet. We are willing to rehome Benji anywhere in the UK, subject to a satisfactory home check. We also ask for a minimum donation of £50 to help towards our veterinary costs. For further info, please contact Jackie at AARU: Jackie Dog Welfare AARU PO Box 5414 Burton Joyce Nottingham 01509 852164 (dog welfare enquiries only) email: [email protected] Other enquiries@ 0115 932 1555 Registered Charity No: 701405
  3. Katy/Kita is still looking for a home. We haven't had one enquiry . She is such a lovely girl, so affectionate and loves everyone! She is fully vaccinated.
  4. We took her off the website as she developed an ear infection. That has been treated with ear drops and she is now raring to go! She is gorgeous, such a big softy, and she loves people. If only someone would go to see her, they would fall head over heels!
  5. Kita is still looking for a forever home. She is a gorgeous dog, so affectionate and loving. We haven't had a single enquiry about her. If only someone would visit her, they would fall in love with her!
  6. I'm sure she would love camping! Especially if there was a cooked breakfast on the go!
  7. We haven't had one enquiry about lovely Kita ...............
  8. Thanks very much for your help - I'm sure I'll get the hang of this soon!
  9. Kita came into the care of AARU after being involved in a road accident. She was a stray and got hit by a car, then by a road sweeper. Amazingly she only sustained injuries to one of her back legs, which had to be amputated. Kita doesn't even seem to realise that she only has 3 legs - she still runs around just as quickly and loves her walks. Kita is currently in foster care but is now ready for a new loving permanent home. In foster care she has lived with children (I would say she would be better with children over about 8, purely because she is quite big and bouncy!), cats and dogs. She could be an only dog in the household, or could possibly live with a calm male dog, after being introduced properly. Kita is around 18 months old and is a crossbreed - there is definitely some Akita in there somewhere! Kita is gorgeous, very affectionate and loving, and she adores being with people. She is crate trained, and knows basic commands. Kita needs an owner who can continue with her socialisation training, someone who is firm and consistent. She has been through so much in her life so far, and she really does deserve to find her forever permanent home. We are willing to rehome Kita in any area as long as it is the right home. A home check will be carried out and we ask for a minimum donation of £50 to help towards the charity's vet fees. I do have photos if someone can kindly explain how to post them. Or if anyone is interested, please send me a PM with your email address and I will send a photo via email. Many thanks. 10. I'm pleased to say that Pickle's op today went well and she is back in her foster home tonight. She will be given time to recover, then we will arrange for her to see an orthopaedic vet. Bless her, she is gorgeous! Thanks for all your messages, it really is appreciated. I would send a photo, but don't know where to start?!
  11. We (AARU - Animal Accident Rescue Unit) collected a small lurcher cross girl from a kennels a few days ago. She had a bad limp and after xrays under general anaesthetic was diagnosed with a problem where her shin bone goes over the top of her 'wrist' bone on one of her front legs every time she tries to put weight on it. The op is a specialised one so Pickle is being referred to an orthopaedic specialist. In the meantime, she became very ill tonight, was rushed to the vet by her fosterer, and has a womb infection. So the poor little girl is on a drip tonight, waiting to be spayed tomorrow. This means that she will need 2 weeks to recover before the leg op can happen. Pickle will be appearing on the Oldies Club site in due course, so please send her healing thoughts and look out for her when she is better and looking for a new home. Pickle is about 10 years old. Thank you. Jackie
  12. Hi, I'm Jackie and I deal with dog welfare for AARU. I met Tommy at the vet's when he first came to us and he was in such a sorry state, totally confused, could hardly see or hear and was so matted that the lumps in his fur made it difficult for him to lie down. Special thanks to Karen who bravely took Tommy on as her first foster dog - what a challenge but she did so well, building what we called Tommy's refugee shelter in her garden (after we found that he was incontinent and got really stressed indoors). Then one day, out of the blue, came the magical call from Tommy's new owner. A fosterer and I took Tommy to Wales from Nottingham (a journey we'll never forget - what a long way with an incontinent dog!!) to his new found paradise. He really had a ball there, and he was loved more than we can imagine. His owner is devastated - she and his doggy pals miss Tommy so much. In a few days when she is feeling up to it, I'll show her these tributes which not only go to Tommy, but also to her complete and total dedication - thank you E, you are a star!
