  1. Well please thank your neighbour from me Owl. That's a fantastic effort from his workplace 👍
  2. Yes indeed blackmagic. I stand corrected. I think a lot of people of all ages really don't get it. This is a serious situation and we all gave a part to play in it mainly by staying put. However there are are way to many selfish people who think the rules don't apply to them or do but don't care.
  3. Aren't some people beyond ruddy awful and rude Suzeanna. I make a point of thanking all our delivery people. We couldn't do this without them 👍❤ The little Mace shop in town is going to deliver us some shopping tomorrow or the next day, whichever they can manage, for which we are very grateful. I picked fruit on a kibbutz in Israel and loved it though it was hard work. If I was younger, fitter and not in a risk group and found myself with no work I'd have a go now at picking fruit & veg. Right this is where I do an impression of my grandad! "Kids today don't know they are born. Its all self, self, self". I know we have some truly good, caring young folk but oh the self absorbed, self entitled ones need a kick up the jacksie.
  4. Good luck with the switch Eve. I hope it's all trouble free. Blackmagic I hope Cleo recovers from her cough. My old vet always said our local park should be avoided whenever possible as it was a breeding ground for germs with the concentration of dogs using it from not just the local population but from all the visitors dogs.
  5. Cumbria police have been stopping campervans, motorhomes and caravans and sending them back from whence they came as well as day visitors in cars. We are high on the list of the number of Covid-19 cases in any area of the UK no doubt in part to all the clowns that arrived here the weekend before last. Locals are reporting any 2nd home occupancy and any sort of parked up mobile home and the authorities are acting on the reports. I'm sick of those people who think the rules don't apply to them and continue to put themselves and more importantly other people at risk as well as adding to the pressure on our wonderful NHS workers. Right from the off I have been cleaning the letterbox, front door handle and the front gate after every delivery with antibacterial spray and wipes. I've got a note on the front door to let the delivery people know I'm doing this and thanking them for bringing our deliveries.
  6. Exactly Griff. We can make this work with modern technology. So you will all like this one. Police tweeted: "Non-essential reasons for travel, Pitlochry to Wakefield via Cumbria to pickup up a puppy.
  7. I had a lovely video call from Evie and Tristan this morning as they moved to their new house last week just before moves were halted. The house their parents have bought had been empty for a few weeks prior and they moved their own furniture such as they have. Anyway the kids showed me round and we played games of eat the vegan burger and catch the bastketballs. It was lovely to connect from such a distance and have a lovely chat and get together for well over an hour.
  8. Owl that was not a nice night to put in. I am glad it's all been sorted without you having to find an electrician. I think we may all expect the odd power cut now and again as this situation goes on. Jazz you really ought not to be having people in the house including your son given all the things you list as being wrong with you. Your lad can drop things off and chat without coming in. As for an engineer calling - eek! Nobody is getting through our door.
  9. Griff we have a number and an email address for our police to report just such incidences. Look online for your town or county you may find you have the same!
  10. I feel so sorry for all the animal charities whose income is drying up. We can't offer the same amount of support as we did for sure, especially not knowing for sure what money we will have coming in as this pandemic rages on. Those instant noodles must have been tasty if Philip managed to get them all splashed around his face - a real nom, nom moment Suzeanna I had to laugh about one item on our Sainsbury home delivery the other day. I ordered a pack of 4 toilet rolls, more in hope than anticipation of actually getting any. They didn't have any so substituted the 4 pack for a 9 pack!
  11. Blackmagic I am aghast at that Romanian report! Until everybody takes this seriously and stops bending the rules the longer the damn thing will go on. I agree it is indeed hard to recall what day we are on. Does anybody know anyone who has Covid-19? Owl we've gone through our cupboards too & I seem to be in hoarder of tinned soup! I am a soup monster and in winter will have a tin every day for lunch. I got a soup maker for Christmas so started making my own but didn't stop buying tinned soup - just in case I couldn't be bothered to make any. Stay safe everyone
  12. I hope you all remembered to put your clocks forward 😁 Bit grey here this morning and rather nippy but as I'm not going anywhere it makes no odds!
  13. Suzeanna Ruby's still doing very well apart from being tired. She's been doing more drawing stuff online with other people and enjoying being able to chat. She helped me make dinner tonight too. Philip did well getting to Tesco's so early. Did you know you can register yourself online as vulnerable at gov.co.uk? That way, if your medical history checks out which yours will, you will become eligible for help with shopping & prescription pick up's and be given priority when booking online shopping deliveries. Tye loved watermelon too like Candy.
  14. We had a roast chicken dinner and it was very nice. There's enough left for tomorrow - quick warm up in the microwave!
  15. Dog biscuits are really easy to make. I used to make them for George so I knew what was in them as, due to his epilepsy, I had to be careful about additives. My niece and nephew were kids back then and used to love coming round to help make them. I used to use brown flour, veg oil and cheese and cut the dough with bone shaped cutters. I did try doggie peanut butter cookies too but my boys decided they didn't like peanut butter. I rolled the dough into little balls for them & pressed them out with the back of a spoon. Have fun Owl. Wispa will be most appreciative 👍❤
  16. Eve - steady on! Coronovirus crisis or not I do NOT do ironing! I hang stuff over the top banister rail and let the creases fall out! Or not as the case may be. Ruby irons, she was once a professional ironer in a former life, but obviously with the recent surgery no ironing for her. I won a little Portmerion Peppa Pig child's mug and dish in a dog rescue raffle. It arrived yesterday and, as much as I love Peppa, I'm sending it on to our old dog walker for her little daughter who is also a Peppa fan. Her mum says she will be thrilled. Hermes is picking it up today as we can't get out to the P.O.
  17. I'm never bored! I can potter away on my own with all types of things - genealogy, reading, finding things on the internet, antibacing taps, kitchen counters, door handles, garden gate, bit of housework, chatting to friends over social media, swapping funny memes with them, checking up on family and friends, cooking, exercising on the cross trainer, doing the laundry etc.. Ruby is doing grand thanks for asking Eve. She's about to join in with a "Draw it" class via the internet. She did have to take paracetamol this morning but for a headache and nothing to do with her surgery.
  18. Yep we all got that one Jazz. At least those that have at some time registered their mobile no's with government departments. Very sensible of Tesco to limit the amount of items.
  19. The Covid-19 cough is a dry cough Griff. Is Steve able to take his temperature? Wonderful response from my town for the Clap For Carers last night. We found it rather moving. Suzeanna nice to know you aren't as ill as they've made you think! You too Griff. I wonder how many others have fallen through the cracks??? Went online to check if any more home delivery slots had opened up and was surprised to see lots on Sainsbury's site for the next 3 days! As I have a saver pass I grabbed one for today. I am getting shopping for us and our friends in a neighbouring street who are self isolating due to the husband having brain aneurysms. His wife will come and collect their shopping from our garden. She feels less vulnerable that way than going to the supermarket. She's terrified of carrying the virus home. I will cancel the Tesco delivery on Monday.
  20. Oooh I'll take a look Griff if its no trouble. I know I fit in one category of vulnerable because one of my inhalers which I use daily has steroids in it plus I am diabetic and have a couple of other issues.
  21. I've not had a letter or text Griff. Well I did get the general text to stay at home from the government. The doctor said I'd not not go out till I felt better and even then I should steer well clear of people. No shopping or things of that nature.
  22. Our local supermarket, Booths, are doing a pick up service for the more vulnerable. You ring your shopping list in, they pick it, bag it up and then call you back so you can pay over the phone. Then you simply go and pick it up in a separated area. The kicker is that they are making it a £100 minimum shop which would mean I would have to hoard! There is no way we need a hundred quids worth of groceries. I'm trying to get some friends and a neighbour to join in and make up an order between us when the time becomes necessary. I have 2 more Tesco deliveries booked so am ok for a couple of weeks. We still have some tourists here in holiday lets despite being told by the town council that they should return home. I'm on more antibiotics and a course of steroids and am starting to feel better thank goodness. Ruby is a little bit tender this morning but feeling good otherwise.
  23. Ruby's napping on the sofa. She's feeling great and is pain free 👍
  24. Ruby's coming home later today. She says she feel's great!
  25. Yes I got a text from her at about 3.30. She was feeling good and tucking into tea and toast 👍
