  1. Thanks Louise, we're hopefully off for a clinic this Saturday at another yard to get him out and about a little bit more. So will try and get my 'photographer' to attend
  2. I'll call you when I get the train later... I was in work early this morning so should be on the 4pm train home I was on lamb feeding and lambing duty yesterday and had 4 born so was shattered last night. Pleased to be back at the office today. That said I'm still at my most contenet up to my knees in horse poo and mud hehehehhe nowt like it to keep me grounded.
  3. Jasper is an 8 year old Bengal boy. He came into us from London with his sister and was marking alot, when fostered this reduced significantly and we rehomed him as an indoor cat along with his sister believing it was theo ther cats stressing him. However he began marking again and problems became apparent between him and his sister. so we split them up. Jasper went to a rural home and seemed to have settled. He has however carried on marking and the family can no longer cope. Unfortunately for Jasper he is inbred, his mother and father are also brother and sister and we're not convinced he is mentally all there, that said hes a happy little cat, comes to his name and has a high hunting instinct like any bengal. He is vocal and affectionate but in reality needs a rural home, ideally on a farm/stable yard. Where his spraying won't be an issue nor will other cats. I'm not sure such a home exists but we can only try. We have tried for 3 years to resolve his spraying and nothing has worked to date. As most Bengals come into us due to spraying/marking in the home we're used to dealing with and resolving this issue, our variety of methods tailored to each cat have failed with him. He is a blue eyed, snow spot boy, very pretty although slightly bozeyed in cute way. If you could offer Jasper the type of home we're looking for please, email me. Thanks
  4. I've been catching up with all your news... well trying to I spend more time lurking these days than contributing but thought I'd up date you with some pictures of Mr.Newt. Its been two years now since we bought him and hes gone from this: A large fetlocked, unbacked, rising 4 and generally pretty green. I thought he had something but he has spent thel ast two years only one step away from the substitution bench.... However he is now really coming into his own. I've finally pulled my finger out and started schooling him, I use horsemanship methods on the ground and then build it in to ridden work. Its worked so well with Newt hes so supple and tries that extra bit when you ask. We're hoping to get out for some show hunter classes this season. Any way less of my babbling... here he is now :

    Horse Tax

http://www.rethinkthehorsetax.org/ If you don't agree with the proposals due late 2010, which could see horse owners paying a tax of £10-100 per equine, please sign here. The impact on your average horse owner maybe managable but rescues? I know the Blue Cross near me has over 200 horses in their care at any time!
  6. I urgently need a homecheck doing in Birmingham (B20). I had ohped to go myself but I've been ill since NYE and can't drive due to dizziness. The homecheck is for Kalu who is getting pretty stressed in his foster home as he can't be left to roam as he fights the other cats. If you can help at all please email/pm me for more info. Thanks
  7. Keeping you in my thoughts Alex and Millie xxxx
  8. Kalu was rehomed by BCR earlier this year and things haven't worked out. Primarily as the new owner refused to keep him indoors and he started marking in the house. That said he has been with me for 3 weeks now and he is completely lovely. He is a great personality, chatty, friendly but needs clear boundaries as he likes to lick you then bite you if he can. He is not good with other cats, hes nervous and will lash out first, but he has lived with a dog previously happily. He needs to be an indoor cat, we will not rehome him to anyone who won't agree to this, as he gets stressed going out and needs to feel secure to be happy. Kalu is 6 years old, brown spotted Bengal. If you're interested in offering Kalu a loving forever home please email me [email protected] and I will send you a prospective home form and a photo of the handsome boy. 9. Hi, We're advising people to contact their breeders as most reputable Bengal Breeders will assist with rehoming. Alternatively the Bengal Cat Club and Bengal Cat Club of GB both have Welfare officers who can help with rehoming. You're right we're not taking on any more cats at this time due to personal circumstances. I generally find Bengals get on better with dogs than other cats, they're often territorial and I personally keep mine indoors as we live where there are alot of other cats and knowing they can be territorial I think its irresponsible for me to let them outside unsupervised by me.
  10. Molly was put to sleep on Tuesday. There was nothing more we could do for her. She had become very agressive and dangerous to handle due to the pain she was in. She had always been a complete sweet heart and very laid back. Towards the end she'd attack you in the stable or field. So gallop free me wonderful mare, only with us for 5 short years. I was there when you came into the world and we will all miss you desperately. Forever in my heart.
  11. I AM NOT FEELING BROODY... I AM NOT FEELING BROODY. REPEAT AFTER ME.... I AM NOT FEWELING BROODY! I'm not very good at this!
  12. Ok, she has Wobblers in her C6 vertebrae which means it is inoperable. So we're sending X-rays to Liphook for a second opinion and putting her on steroids to control the pain, but shes not the same she is crabby, grumpy and obviously in pain. Its a matter of weeks to be honest, and at the age of 5 its heart breaking for us all. To make things even worse her Mum, Blondie is chronically lame with suspected fractured shoulder and I've been told today she needs to have her eye removed which has a glucoma in it
  13. Molly is having tests on Wednesday to confirm if she has Wobblers or not. I stupidly let my f-ing ex have her when we split up. He left her at a yard with unpaid livery debts, where they pumped her full of feed and sent her out as a hireling on the hunting field My friend and I managed to orchestrate getting her back and since then she's been diagnosed with Stomach Ulcers, OCD in her hocks and now Wobblers. Its all seems linked to her unbalanced diet etc. I just don't know what the future holds for Molly and to say we're devastated is a slight understatement. She is only 5 and should have her whole life ahead of her Does anyone know anything about Wobblers? If its degenerative or if the operations work? Or if the kindest thing is to have her pts, which will break my heart as I'm feeling awful currently for ever letting that idiot take her, but I had to choose Easta and Blondie or Molly and Nya. It was awful but I didn't have £5k to buy him out of Molly and now shes been so let down.
  14. So sorry Jules, run free Olli xx
  15. She has told HR that they can not tell her to not contact me. Despite me writing to them asking them to tell her to stop otherwise I'd call the police. So despite that she has sent me another email today! I am now waiting on Head of HR to call me this afternoon, but have also logged it with the police. I'm trying to get over a kidney infection and have been put on anti-depressents because of her behaviour yet feel like its still me i nthe wrong
  16. Today said individual has emailed me via Bengal Cat Rescue to tell me she wants me to respond to her emails that she has sent me at work and that she has my home address and wants to see me!! Now my address is ex-directory and I have privacy on my domain names, so how on earth has she got my address (I can't find it online)? I have phoned HR at work but I'm really worried she'll just turn up here, and am in two minds whether to call the police. I am really protective of my home and have serious issues when it feels threatened which right now it does. Why when I'm accused do I feel harassed and violated?!
  17. Been looking at HG and I have to say it does appeal. I can't face going over analysising the past been there done that. SPent a long time in CBT after and during my relationsihp thought it worked but obviously hadn't!!
  18. Its now formal grievance, as HR have been supporting me all the way to get this person back to work. As I've done nothing out of line and have had all my emails/letters cleared by HR and or Legal first. I was very conscious that I needed to be within our processes while trying to support her coming back. I had agreed she came back to do her old job, yet she then didn't show up was signed off sick for another month. Nothing has changed except I've tried twice to get her to attend a back to work meeting with me to agree what she'll do while working part time and then ramping up to full time. These have been done in writing with HR's agreement. Sheh asn't turned up for our last scheduled meeting and has now written a grievance on me for bullying and intimidation. While I take some support from HR... the bigger issue is my reaction to it. It has absolutely sent me off the rails. I can't work, can't even read a book. I'm awake all night in a state of anxiety. Even eating makes me anxious, I can't face anything I need to chew other wise I panic.... I've looked up Human Givens Counsellors and am going to see if theres one local, I live in Derby now. I have private medical care so am going to see if I can see a psychotherapist through that as well it might be cheaper. I just feel like I'm going mental
  19. Oh Alex, I've just seen this and am speechless as to what to say. Love to you & Millie xxxx
  20. I know I don't come on here very often anymore, as my job keeps me more than busy. Especially as its moving to Germany next year. Anyway last week I was accused of bullying and intimidating a member of my team, it has had the worst effect on my possible. I have been signed off work with anxiety and panic attacks. This grievance is the worst possible thing, having spent a number of years being bullied, intimidated and abused in a relationship it has triggered all sorts of things for me. The doctors likened it to Post Traumatic Stress. I've been looking for some info on line but its all for supporting those being bullied, I can't find anything on those wrongly accused of bullying or anything about PTSD and being accused of bullying. Does anyone know where I can find some help and advice?
