  1. Yes she is 3 weeks old now. The output from some helpful campers at the campsite next to the yard/field, going down for awalk and leaving all the gates open including the one from the barn and stallions field, with out a care to read signs! Luckily this was the only mare caught, but talk about stupid. They opened 4 gates to let the stallion get through to the others, as he looked 'lonely'!!!
  2. Look who I met today..... Yes the rain was heavy! And..
  3. So do I! Mountain horse long boot come in wide fitting. I can't get Dubarry ones wide enough for my chunk calfs
  4. I wore thinner socks initially, silky types of socks so I didn't get friction burns! Yes the mountain horse boots aren't like rugular boots, they've got thick soles, they do a special one for winter called rim frost. I walk the dogsin my short boots everyday. My long boots were about £100 but for 4 years of nearly daily wear I thought that was good. The short ones are about £60 now. http://www.rideaway.co.uk/index2.php3?sess...mp;catcode2=MRC I've got these in brown, I've got one pair I've had 8 years now. And they're still waterproof. i wore them today all day in the rain and had dry feet. http://www.rideaway.co.uk/index2.php3?sess...mp;catcode2=RIM These are the rim frost ones. http://www.rideaway.co.uk/index2.php3?sess...amp;catcode2=HI These are my long boots, they zip up the back as well.
  5. Just thinking about my ponies and ones I've had in the past who had a stable (everyday names) and a pedigree or registered names they were competed under. Heres the ones who had the biggest impact in my life! Layla aka Layla Squarebum Fat Steaks (yes I did show jump her as that!) Lucy- Star Secret Lassy- Jims Lass Lottie- Honeybrook Lottery Ruby- What a Business (Easta's Mum) Easta- Eastabiznis Blondie- African Copper Newt- Roydons My Newt What are yours?
  6. She does have a blonde mane and tail when shes not impersonating a bog pony! Here is a summer picture so you can see what I mean! Her proper name is African Copper but shes just Blondie to us
  7. My muck boots did this to me initially, but I perservered and they're fiune now. but i also have some short lace up mountain horse boots which are fab and water proof and some long mountain horse boots, sports rider that are brilliant. i'm on my 2nd pair now and the first ones lasted 4 years of daily wear at the yard, mucking out, trekking across fields and riding so they're hard wearing.
  8. Seeing as you asked! And one further back with the lamp and dresser in the lounge
  9. They've been swapped over! I don't need any less harmony in my life currently.
  10. My lovely Blondie! blondie came home today, having had a foal this year for a friend of mine. This mare is very special to me and I had to give her to my friend abotu 3 years ago, otherwise I'd have lost Easta or her when I split with my ex as he sure as hell would have kept 3 out of our 4 and only let me have Easta. Anyway she came home today from Wiltshire, travelled up like the old pro that she is. Despite the stud asking if I'd loan them to her because she has very good blood lines, which I declined. She's gone out tonight with Golly, Cracker and norty foaly! Not the best of pictures but I'll get come more when its light
  11. Yes sorry its Moo&Boo. As talented as Wendbert is! Here is the link to Wendy, Moo&Boo website http://www.freewebs.com/wendypoulton-portraits/
  12. I've now got my gorgeous paintings back from the framers and they're hung in my lounge in all their glory. Firstly Miss EastaB And Mr Newt And both together Thankyou Wendy they're wonderful! Keep a slot free next year for a portrait of Blondie
  13. Easta and I worked at liberty today. So no leadrope/lunge line. She was great, we did sidepass and went over taupaulin. She also ran and followed me over a fence too! I was soo pleased with her, I can't tell you how much shes changed. She ground ties as well now and just hangs out with me in the school doesn't disappear off. Oh and tomorrow is the day that Blonde one returneth!
  14. Have sent my Cv out to a couple of places so we'll see what happens. I guess its made worse by the fact my OH is under threat of redundancy which is getting more real everyday... so its not a comfortable place to be!
  15. I've seen an email today that I shouldn't really have seen which basically means all of my teams work wil lbe done out of our parent company in europe and my team won't be needed anymore. Now I'm planning to meet my boss early next week to discuss this, but am in two minds whether to look to jump ship. My boss will most probalby reassure me and the fact they paid a significant amount for me to be headhunted into this job, they're still paying the agency their cut of my package for me, that I'll be fine. Howeever I came to do a specific role and I'm not sure that I want to do anything different. What would you do? Get your cv out there, while running the risk of being quizzed over why I'm leaving after 6 months? Or stay put and just keep quiet? One thing against me if our senior director and I don't get on, we've fallen out again today. So not sure my bosses word is good enough....
  16. Have I mentioned that Blondie comes home in 3 days????
  17. Ok I am completely terrified of going to the dentist and ended up there today as two of my teeth that have root canals have now got abcesses. I've got antibiotics and need to go back on monday to see how they are If they've not settled I may have to have them both removed which would mean I have no molars o nthe left hand lower jaw. Someone said if that happens I should consider inplants. Aside from the costs, has anyone had this done? And how bad was it
  18. David and Jay And the UK Parelli team, including Rachel and Phoenyx who i think made us all cry..... well maybe just Sarah, Lindsey and myself anyway
  19. Am about to go out and face the weather, joy of joys. I plan to do ground work and maybe ride. Am on the hunt for a bareback pad to improve my seat. Some pictures from Your Horse Live on Friday. I didn't photo Charles Wilson who was brilliant, I was completely inspired by him! My fellow cowboys for the day, my OH and my friend Zoe. David Deptford showing us how to do spins on his stallion, I think it was Jay he had with him on Friday. David and Paul Hayler giving a Dressage and Western demo, about how similar the two are.

    Tortoises

There is a rescue, but I can't remember who they are. I'll have to have a look, they had a stand next to me at a fundraising table top sale in Wales. Wendbert was with me she might remember, but I remember they had all sorts of tortoises, different ages and species including a huge one! Apparently there are quite a few needing homes as they live so long and a need for responsible owners.
  21. You beat me too it Fran! I think Egg has to go to the KatieBob household!
  22. Evening all, when I get chance I'll add photos from today. And yes I think we all got a little tearful at one point! Its never too late Lindsey to start, I went through a bad patch a few months ago about how I'd let Easta down by not doing this fully earlier and how different she would be today etc etc. But its journey and we're on that journey and I love spending time with both my horses. Oh did I mention... ONLY 7 DAYS TIL BLONDE ONE IS HOME!!! So my soon to be 3 horses again. Am riding out tomorrow so keeping fingers crossed for dry weather. Am off now too look for bareback pads OMG!!! Where's Sarah Wiccs? I HAVE FOUND WESTERN BRIDLES WITH PINK BLING ON THEM! Just don't tell Lindsey
  23. Not as thrilled as you are I'm sure!
