  1. Come on Murf. Keep fighting!! S x
  2. So glad its not cancer. And that treatment has been started. It sounds similar to what Cleo has and she is responding really well to treatment, so fingers crossed its the same for him. The steroids do hit them hard, and its been a case of things getting worse before getting better. But as the steroids have been reduced (very slowly) the real Cleo is coming back!! Sharron x
  3. Thinking of you all at this difficult time. Sharron x
  4. I know I dont post very often on here. But I am going through a similar problem with my lurcher Cleo. She has primary auto immune thrombocytopenia and anaemia. Which basically meant her body was destroying its own blood system. She has been very poorly. I went to the University of Liverpool (and still going) and cant recommend them enough. I am also insured with Petplan and not had a single problem with them paying direct to my own vet and the University. Both vets have been brilliant and even the University just ask me for a claim form, and then let me know about the excess that needs paying. I was even mid claim when my policy was due up for renewal and considering I had already claimed £2500 and was only just beginning the treatment the policy only went up by £2 per month. I will always be insured with Petplan for all my animals and would recommend them to anyone! Cleo is only 4 (nearly 5) and its been so tough to go through. The steroids really affected her, and changed her personality. Sometimes I didnt know if I was doing the right thing, as she seemed so miserable at times. The bad days were so hard and seeing her the way she was has been so difficult. But she is getting weaned off the steroids very slowly and the old Cleo is coming back. She is happier in herself if not very fat now (but she is starting fat camp soon, and I do know its the steroids, but a fat lurcher isnt a good look ) If you asked me on a bad day was I doing the right thing? I wouldnt have known how to answer. But with her lying behind me on the couch legs in the air and the greeting I got when I came home from yes... the answer.... Hell Yes!! Hope this helps somewhat! Sharron
  5. I have a 2 bedroomed house in Kirkby in Liverpool to rent and is very pet friendly! I would be interested in adding this to a database if there was one as I would particulary like someone who might struggle to find a house to rent otherwise. I would hate to think that any of my friends would struggle to rent with having more than 2 dogs, and that person must be someone else's friend. Sharron
  6. Tess had been scared of the fireworks and had managed to literally break down the living room door, and pretty much rip the dog flap off the door and get out. She had done this once before and went to the neighbours house. But unfortunately the neighbours werent in this time and we do not know where she is now. Tess is extremley friendly and a really easy dog to have about. She is cat and dog friendly. If you need any more information just ask. Thank you so much for all your help. (Me and Caroline are in Chester and Jo is in Dover - but we are in touch by phone all the time) Sharron x
  7. Jo is one of my best friends. I know that she has posted over 400 leaflets in the area and is doing everything she can do. Tess is one of the most beautiful staffies in the world. If you know of anyone in Dover can you please let them know. S x
