  1. We have just come home from two weeks skiing in the States, on Sunday when most were watching the Superbowl, we were on Animal Planet watching the Puppybowl . It was great, and all the puppies came from the local animal shelters and there was lots of information about adopting from the rescues. It was definitely far more entertaining than the Superbowl
  2. Happy Birthday for yesterday Michelle - you never told me it was your birthday, I would not have dragged you over to Macclesfield if I had known I did give you a lovely birthday present though - all your Oldies Club accounts back
  3. Skiing - this time next week I should be on the plane to Colorado
  4. The wonder of steroids, she is still very doddery but has just come into the front room with her stuffed duck in her month Still a long way to go but at least she is feeling a bit better
  5. Unfortunately her temp is higher than it was on Friday and she has not reacted to the antibiotics or metacam so we have had to make the assumption that the meningitis has come back and she has had a steriod injection
  6. Now you mention it, his legs are slightly shorter than normal, but is is also incredibly fluffy so probably a bit longer than they look I have thousands and thousands of pictures of other peoples dogs, but I have to nag to get pictures of my lot. I will have to start nagging harder . Berts is a very special boy, and very well known in the flyballing world, not normally for the right reasons
  7. Been back to the vets, she has a temp of 103 but we don't think its meningitis back as she is moving her neck well. She has some antibiotics and we just need to keep an eye on her, but she is happily munching some kibble and chicken at the moment so she isn't too bad
  8. Pumpkin is not a happy girl . I managed to lure her out of the crate this morning with some chicken which she ate fine, I put it on the floor to make sure she can lower her head so I don't think it is the meningitis back again. She looks like she is in a lot of pain, she tottered very slowly down to the garden but struggled to do a poo and she gave up, it looked like it hurt to much to make the muscles work. I will give the vets a call in a bit
  9. It doesn't help when you have a pesky auditor asking silly questions
  10. Last week we went away to the Lake District for our annual week with my family, total chaos with 11 adults, 7 kids and 7 dogs! Our cottages are close to Greystoke Forest a great place to walk the dogs as there are miles of tracks. We took our three and my sisters collie up there one day and for once got photographs of our own dogs instead of the 1000's we have of other peoples dogs Pumpkin sitting prettily Wondering where the ball has gone Annie didn't see where it went either It's in here somewhere Bertie trying to work out what they are looking for Playing with the lead it far more fun Quick Annie and Bertie it might have gone down the track Sisters dog Callum not really caring as long as he has his stick You wouldn't think that he and Annie were cousins
  11. She is back home and snoring away in her crate We did take some nice pictures last week so might have to do a post
  12. the vets have just called and a couple of her enzymes are higher than normal but they are still happy to go ahead so I am trusting their judgement
  13. I am about to take her to the vets but none of the dogs look very bright this morning. I am hoping it is just that like the rest of us their body clocks have adjusted to an extra couple hours in bed over Christmas and nothing more serious! Thanks for all the thought
  14. Pumpkin my Toller is finally being spayed tomorrow. She went down with meningitis when she was only 9 months old and was on steroids for almost a year. She has been perfectly fine since last April and went straight into her season with days of coming off the steroids with no ill effects. As stress can bring the meningitis back we were advised to wait before we got her spayed to ensure that she was fully recovered so she had another season in October and is going to go under the knife tomorrow I know she will be fine and it is a very routine operation but I can't help worrying that the stress might cause her to relapse, so any 'keep away nasty meningitis' thoughts which are spare would be gratefully received
  15. Peter and Delia from the Pods flyball team have a 5 unit caravan club site on Anglesey called Tai Lawr (you need to be a member of the caravan club to stay there). It is the most dog friendly site I have stayed at, acres of dog walking area with a stream and flyball and agility training if you want it. We go regularly last time with our flyball team so 4 couples and 18 dogs!!
  16. Think I need to join this as I want to loose about 3 stone, my main problem is that I am a very fussy eater so find dieting hard. I have done weight watchers on-line before and found it suits me so will probably do that. I have though found something that is working for me since the start of December I have tried to reduce the amount of wheat I eat, I am eating rye bread (although I think it is a wheat/rye combination). I still have my staple diet of pasta and garlic bread but eat whole wheat pasta and bread. Since then I have lost about half a stone and I haven't changed anything else and had my birthday and Christmas! My first goal is another half stone in next three weeks as I am off skiing then!
  17. I found it all very easy, sat at the computer, ordered my food and nice Mr Tesco delivery man arrived last night absolute bliss. I will have to go into town tomorrow morning to get some fresh rye bread from the bakers but that is it
  18. Really please to be able to help, Steve has done a really good job and they are so expertly modelled Question is, have you enough room in your suitcase for them all If anyone has a look at our website could you possibly give Bertie a vote, he is currently number one picture for the week (Dav Div 8 091), if you click on the link it will take you to the picture and you can give him a vote. I have decided as it is my website my dog needs to be number one dog but he has a long way to go
  19. I am amazed how good a liar my husband is, there was no hot air balloon ride (which I am quite relieved about ) and we have not stayed at a different place each night, but my suspicions about where we were going were right. We got on the Eurotunnel early yesterday morning and drove up to Ypres (somewhere I have wanted to go to for a long time). We had a lovely potter around the town and then went up to one of the First World War cemeteries which was very interesting/sobering. Then a drive up to near Brussels to stay with my sister :) . Today we have been with my sister, brother in law and nephew and niece over to Germany to a gorgeous town to their christmas market. It was wonderful and it was snowing so very christmassy. Tonight we are going into Brussels for a meal. Apparently tomorrow we are getting an early shuttle back to the UK, going to a hotel which will provide transport to whatever we are doing in the afternoon, and he has something else booked for Monday, but I don't believe a word he says anymore:laugh: So far it has been an excellent weekend
  20. He is now trying to bluff and double bluff me, so I am not certain I am going in a hot air balloon - it is getting very confusing, but very exciting. I will have my i-phone so I might update as it is happening and of couse loads of photos
  21. It is my 40th birthday next Monday and on Thursday evening my OH is taking me away for a mystery weekend. All I know is that it starts next Friday morning (weather permitting) with a hot air balloon ride, and we are staying in a different place each night . He said that he has organised quite a few different things over the weekend, Friday and Sunday will be busy days and Saturday and Monday more relaxing. I have a few ideas what we might be doing but don't want to find out if I am right as I am really looking forward to the mystery of it all and not worrying at all about being 40
  22. The same thing happened to me during the postal strike, they hadn't realised it would mean no deliveries, so totally understand your frustration and fury. Still thinking about you, it is the not knowing which is so hard
  23. Very perfect pictures This is mine, it was taken about a year after we got Bertie and we had gone back to Wales for a holiday. We met of with Fionna from Lizzies Barn for a walk on the beach. Berts looks so carefree on this picture, I like to think he had realised he had a great home with us but all was well with Fionna
