  1. Were you at Mottram last weekend, I tried to look out for you but was a bit busy sorting paperwork and the keyrings for starters. Hope to see you this weekend
  2. Please arrange for it to be sunny, I am wanting a nice relaxing weekend and no mud - thankyou

    Anglesey

OK so the BBC website says the weather is going to be over the next five days BBC weather, but this site says it is going to be UK weather. Think I am going to believe the BBC especially as I don't care about after Monday as I have to come home for work and will be sulking
  4. That sounds very similar to Annie. I have managed to get Monday off work, so I am going down to Anglesey for the weekend , OH and the mutties are staying all week . Might see you there, which team are you with?
  5. Hi and welcome We had a dog on our team which did this and we tried a couple of things which seemed to work. In training we made the jumps double width so when the dog looked down the lane it could see it had more room so it was less scary seeing the other dog run towards it. Also in competition we ran him in at an angle so he couldn't see the dog coming towards him. Don't know if that will help, it worked for us. Not a problem I have with my Annie, she is incredibly focused going down to the box. It is just coming back that we have the problem as the dog in the other lane is far more interesting, and has been for the last three years, maybe one day she will get it
  6. Well done , you are in the first division next week at Mottram

    Starters

Just done the running order for Mottram - you have managed to avoid each other there, one on Saturday and one on Sunday And we are being brave and running Annie in sanctioned so you will both be spared that Ohhhh he is gorgeous, I met him at Middlesborough (didn't meet you though) Jayne was holding him whilst you were somewhere else
  8. If it ran its photo will be amongst this lot. Racing Herts were in Div 5, which unfortunately is the only div we haven't got split into teams Daventry photos
  9. We took the photos at the Daventry show a few weeks ago which Racing Harts were at. We would be happy to supply any photos for the website if it raced there .

    And Mottram is our show
  11. Bertie is the same, but we have put it down to a low attention span rather than lack of fitness. Now in training he only does a few runs to keep his interest, as soon as I can sense he is about to get bored we stop and try again later. Brockie looks like he will be a cracking height dog , and very gorgeous with it
  12. Hi all, as I have just posted on the Fathers Day thread I thought I better come on here to say hello . I am Cathie and have Annie a BC and Bertie a saluki/collie cross from Fionna at Lizzies Barn. Most of my weekends are taken up with flyball though I sometimes wonder why I bother Annie is brilliant in training and starters competitions but gets far too hyper in competition and wants all the balls especially those other dogs are going to get . But she loves it so we keep on trying, we are in our third year already, maybe by the time she is 10 she will have calmed down enough Bertie took a long time to get it, finally this year it seemed to click and we got our 200 points a few weeks ago. Unfortunately he has now decided it is all too much like hard work and hasn't done a complete run since - oh well he is happy and that is all that matters.
  13. We got ours from Canine Spirit, I know they are expensive but they are excellent and do have lots of catching points on it . Come and find us on Monday, I think Annie is racing but Berties will be available to borrow.
  14. Thanks Jayne and hi - good to see you at the weekend
  15. I have been lurking on here a while but decided to join when I saw the thread about the harnesses as we use them, so it is a perfect opportunity for me to brag about my boy. Bertie, my Lizzies Barn lurcher, officially became an official flyball dog at the weekend when he got his 200 points . Last year I honestly thought he would never get it as he wasn't the slightest bit interested in a tennis ball. During the year we tried fly 'sausage fat soaked'ball, fly tuggy, even fly 'stuffed border collie' (much to the amusment of the crowd at the game fair we were at) which was the most sucessful, but he never managed flyball . But this year it has seemed to click with him and he is becoming a very steady, reliable dog although he does slow down during the day. Admittedly he does need my OH on the box and me running him otherwise he is not interested, but he has his 200 points and beaten Annie my BC. But not to leave Annie out, she loves flyball and has been doing it for two years now. Unfortunately she is still in starters as she gets too excited in the arena and runs amoke . She is now perfect in starter competitions so we keep trying her in our third team in the warm ups and she was perfect in them at the weekend too. So we tried one race, and we thought she had it, but just before the last jump she decided to go and see the other dog, then go the other arena where another starters was taking place , but it is still a great improvement and I have high hopes that she will soon be there
  16. Annie and Bertie both have those harnesses, if you would like to try it at Eggborough you are more than welcome to borrow one. We have a small and medium. We find it perfect for Annie who is a little madam who is inclined to run around instead of coming back to us in the arena so it is great for catching her .
