  1. Yes Ki will be there racing with the Hotshots so if Kimba is running in your team in Div 2 the Dobies will get to race each other!
  2. We (The Hotshots) are racing at Sheffield on Dec 9th, it's a bit of a trek for us coming all the way from Hertfordshire for 1 day but I am looking forward to it My baby boy who is 18 months on Dec2nd will be making his debut in open competition and I just hope he behaves himself I apologise in advance to any other teams in Div 5 incase he doesn't! My GSD will also be racing in our team in div 5 and it will be the first time that she has raced over full height in a competition since having her TPLO surgery earlier this year but she has been doing it with no problem in training so hopefully she will be fine . We decided that as we are travelling all that way and would have all of the dogs with us we may as well put both our teams in even though we won't have our usual line up avaliable for the second team.
  3. As has been said above it is the "drawer movement" that the vet will be looking for and this can sometimes only be felt under sedation, X rays don't usually show the ruptured ligament. Our GSD ruptured her cruciate earlier this year but it took 3 months before we got a diagnosis and that was only when it went completly She had intermitant lameness and x rays didn't show any problems, they were even sent to a specialist who couldn't find a cause. When the ligament went completly you could see her knee slipping out of place. She had TPLO surgery in May and is now fine and has even started to do flyball again despite having a massive plate and 12 screws in her leg. The worst bit for us was that she caught MRSA when having surgery and the treatment for that badly damaged her kidneys, but despite lots of low points and us thinking we would lose her she defied the odds and is bouncing round like a pup and even with every thing she went through her leg healed perfectly If your dog has ruptured the cruciate and they advise surgery look up the Bella Moss foundation to see what precautions you should take to guard against MRSA as it's always better to be informed.
  4. I am so glad I saw this thread because I have been saving for a while to get together the £200 my vet wants to neuter my dog, he is now booked in at the Mayhew for just over a weeks time at a much more affordable price, not sure that he will be so happy about it though
  5. There is a community centre in Bushey Hertfordshire which is used for dog training, it would be big enough for what you need, the address is : Bushey Community Centre Falconer Road Bushey Hertfordshire WD23 2AH I am not sure who controls the hiring of it but I guess it's Herts County Council.
  6. I'm going. The Hotshots Hit 'N' Run are racing on Saturday and the Hotshots on Sunday, can't remember which divs but I know they are the 1st div on each day because it means I have to get up early, we are camping though so i cant really complain I am looking forward to it because it will be 1 year ago that the Hotshots ran in their 1st tournment at the same place so it's our anniversary
  7. Your Anglel could be a sister to my Lily, they are so alike Lily sends lots of get well Licks to Angel Lily
  8. I had better remember to pack my waterproofs and wellies, when we were last at Daventry earlier in the year the mud was absoloutly terrible, hopefully it will not be so bad this time. We are racing on Saturday so hopefully won't have to contend with thunder otherwise Kelsey would probably just run out of the ring and hide We (Hotshots) are in Div 7, we started out as bottom seed but as some teams have pulled out we have moved up to 3rd from bottom.
  9. Lily is doing much better now and the vet is very pleased that the infection seems to be under control I think the Reiki definatly helped her and she was allowed home on Friday. We just have to hope that the infection stays under control for the next few weeks so some more Reiki certainly won't go amiss
  10. Anniegirl thanks for adding the pics they are all great although if I had known there was a crop option I definatley would have taken it
  11. We are at Daventry I will let you know which Div when we find out. I will have to buy a pic with him in to keep him happy
  12. Can you please send some Reiki to my GSD Lily. She is in the vet hospital with MRSA which she contracted after TPLO surgery, she also has compromised kidney function due to the meds she is on. She has been there since Friday and we aren't allowed to visit untill the infection clears so I would apprectiate any help in speeding up her recovery because I really miss her.
  13. My dogs are in div 12 Mason is in pics 096 (with me looking quite strange ) 102,103,108 and Kelsey is in pics 106,107,111 &113. OH is a pit put out because he is the only one of the team who is not actually in one of the pics and he is the captain. I said it must be something to do with cameras and breaking etc Stephanie
  14. Just another update on Lily. She had been doing really well after her op and using the leg really well. Last night I noticed she wasn't using it so well and within a matter of hours she wasn't using it at all, it was horribly swollen and red. She is now in the isolation ward at the vet with a drain in her leg which has to be changed under sedation each day, she is also on very strong antibiotics and a drip for fluids We are not allowed to visit her because of the isolation and Wednesday is probably the earliest that she will be home. They said that we caught the infection really early so that has avoided any damage, I still feel like poo though and I am amazed that it came on so quickly.
