Well, the vet has just phoned and it looks like diabetes! I'll know for sure tomorrow when the last test comes back. So, if anyone has any experience of diabetic dogs..... I know we have someone on Wiccs so I'll post there too. Lordy, I HATE needles.

I thought it about time I introduced myself, having just been brave enough to start posting after lurking for over a year! I found my way here from the Wiccaweys forum. I am lucky to have 13 year old BC Polly in my life although sadly she isn't very well at the mo. She is my first ever dog as circumstances never allowed me to have one before. She is a lovely old thing but the worst excuse for a sheep dog you could ever wish for. Scared of sheep, hates wind, rain and getting her feet wet... Other than that she is perfect.... And of course, the obligatory piccies! Looking demure - a rare opportunity! Not so rare 'collie with ball' picture. I aren't going to look.... Oh all RIGHT... My tongue again Giz the treat! And finally, being a tart as normal! I'm waiting for the vet to phone with test results but I'm sure it will be failing kidneys, so any advice will be greatly appreciated. Having lurked for so long I feel really at home here and no, I don't think this forum is cliquey at all! Thanks for reading. Cheers Penny

Hi all, I have been lurking here for ages having arrived via Wiccaweys. I've been plucking up courage to post for ages but a call from my oldest friend (from age 5 at junior school, I'm 53) nudged me into action. Her 6 year old pointer, Wooster has been diagnosed with soft-tissue cancer and I would appreciate some Reiki heading his way. I have a 13 yr old wonky border collie who keeps scaring me to death but like the Empire, strikes back. Piccs to follow. I think this is a great board. Thanks for your time.
