  1. Morning all, Am going to bed for a very long time (hopefully). Completely kn*ckered, turned down a £260 job last night cos I knew I didn't have the energy to make Glasgow and back with a parcel, had daughter off school yesterday so managed about 3 hours on the sofa as had spent the morning doing chores and taking poorly cars to garage etc.Am now kicking myself (£260 for one night!! Grrr) I could have had the weekend off
  2. I sure hope it was a line of typing you were snorting..
  3. Morning to everyone. Look, I managed to get in here without O/H sneaking in, YAY!!!!!!!!!
  4. My anger is cured YAY!!!! Did an hour of work and then was given a parcel run to Ipswich. When I went to pick the parcel up from the depot I was lucky enough to pick up another going to Bedford as well, so Willow and I went Ipswich first. My stress levels soon dropped - there's nothing like driving down the A14 with a muzzle resting on your lap. Mind you, Pink Floyd and U2 might have helped slightly too... Willow was a very good boy and the mechanics at Ipswich invited BOTH of us into the workshop for a coffee, it was a shame that their phone rang and it was the guy who books our taxis to say I should have been told to do Bedford first, as the parts were for a coach that had to be in Calais by 10am this morning.. oops Not my fault, it was the idiot that picked the parts at the depot, he told me Bedford didn't need them 'til 4.30am DOH! Now Willow and I are having our quiet time. I swear blind the O/H has stuck one of those tracker thingies up my bum while I was sleeping cos every time I come home for a break, he's here to annoy me. I popped in at 9pm tonight and he had snuck home and he did it yesterday, and the night before, and the night before...
  5. Hmm.. okay.. maybe not okay I have serious anger management problems today.. like I have lots of anger and absolutely no management skills of it whatsoever Have just had a rant at Mum, who has got the same problem, everyone keeps mithering her too and she says she feels her heads not big enough to cope with it and is about to explode lol I think I feel a blog coming on... though probably best not to include expletives about work or O/H in case Bonny or Mark read them.. On a lighter note, we think Willow has been hiding an ickle secret from us. We think his mummy or daddy may be part Beddy as our Wills is turning into a werewolf.. He now has hairy shoulders, guard hairs on his back and flanks and tufty sideburns. Oh, and he's getting a silver goggle effect around his eyes as well heehee Damn I have so much to type and I've got to go, I will have to update Willow's thread later as he met a Gracie lookalike this morning and I have to tell you about the springer twins that he hates and his girlfriend.... lol
  6. Evening all, Haven't been on here much since Friday, had jetlag over the weekend, fell out with my base operator, exhaust fell off the taxi, other car doing the dying fly and each time I've finally got on here my O/H has turned up unannounced like a bad smell (I don't do RMF with him reading over my shoulder!) When I go home for breaks, that time is "ME" time (well actually it's me and Willow time) and I like nothing better than to read what's been going on in here or else Willow and I cuddle up on the sofa with the light off in the back room but the kitchen light on and radio 2 on really low and we snore for Britain for half an hour or so. This week, each time I've just got the puter on and he either finishes his run early or turns up out of the blue on the way to another drop. IT'S DOING MY HEAD IN!!!! GRRRRRRR Have missed everything as a result , I was going to offer to move Peter down the M6 and the b***er turned up and scuppered my plans, I missed Georgia Mae's arrival into the world and I wanted to do Willow's update as well. And I've done diddly squat. Blast - now my Mum's just rung and says she wants my daughter NOW and by the time I get back from dropping her off it will be time to start work (7pm) and I can't be late or the base op on tonight will send me home cos he's my ex boss and a complete t***er. Damn!
  7. Eek! Have just let Willow out in the yard and he's done a bluey green playdoh looking number two. Is that the charcoal biscuits he had today, or do I need to start panicking???
  8. I think I'm having a bad night. My printer ate the paper and I can't get it out, just when it's important. I ran the bath, got distracted, pulled the plug a little cos it was too full and forgot about it til it was empty so had to run it again. Poor Willow hasn't had his walk yet, my jacket spuds I forgot about too til they burnt and I set fire to the ash tray and I only have about 15 minutes before I have to start work AAAAAARRRGGGHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. I'd try asking the squirrel family on here, I know when Granny Squiggs was fostering Willow he was bald and she used to bath him and then oil him (she made him a special coat to wear round the house when he'd been oiled) but I don't know what oil it was (probably olive oil or tea tree oil) and she swears by sardines and pilchards too. Other than that, you could try buying a bottle of Seleen from your vet as this lifts the scurf out, you shampoo first with your normal stuff and then use the seleen afterwards.
  10. Hi all, Happy Birthday Molly Willow is back from the vets and has had an all clear on his stitches. Hugh and Theresa gave me a lovely bottle of shampoo for him and we had a natter for over 20 minutes. There's a horse fair near me soon and they know the guy that runs it. And the naughty man didn't tell them that they were selling adult dogs and puppies there so Mr and Missus vet are going to pull a few strings.. good for them In case any of you missed the post I put in recommendations, they are doing cost price vacs, neutering and chipping and will take vouchers too and are rescue friendly - in fact, if there's any rescues interested in advertising, they're putting together one of those continual showing TVs and told me they'd be more than happy to promote any rescue on it. (Whilst I was there I noticed the Northants greyhound rescue newsletter on their coffee table). I put a linky bit on my post earlier this morning as well because they are really trying to get the public's attention regarding the amount of animals destroyed each year and are trying to promote rehoming as a much better alternative to buying. P.S. Does anyone know where they can get greyhound/lurcher/whippet collars from in the original style with the wide neck but in canvas not leather as they are trying to stock these in the shop part but are having difficulty getting hold of them. If so, feel free to pm me with details and I will pass them on to them. Catch you all later, Emma.
  11. Hugh is a brilliant vet, he has tended my animals for years until he moved but has come back to the Rugby area and has opened his own practice with his wife Theresa. They are keen to promote responsible pet ownership, and are putting together a CD rom for people interested in buying a dog which will list ALL breeds, their life expectancy, ailments particular to each specific breed, behavioural problems associated with each breed, how much exercise etc to help would be dog owners understand better a breeds needs before rushing out and buying a dog. They are keen to promote rescue dogs for rehoming as a much better alternative to buying a dog and have opened their practice with the hope that when they retire they will do so with the knowledge that they've stood up and been counted in the fight to stop unnecessary farming and breeding. Oh, and they have a lurcher lol I always like lurchery people!!! The link for their practice is here ( Animal House ) and they do cost price vaccinations, neutering and chipping for dogs, cats, ferrets, guinea pigs and rabbits. Prices We are happy to accept RSPCA and other charity vouchers towards the cost of treatment: Here are current rates for neutering:- All inclusive of V.A.T. Bitch Spay (under 25kg.) £65 Bitch Spay (over 25kg) £80 Dog Castrate £60 Cat Spay £30 Cat castrate £25 Rabbit spay £40 Rabbit castrate £35 Ferret spay £40 Ferret castrate £35 Guinea pig spay £40 Guinea pig castrate £35 This includes, cannulation, pre-operative blood testing, buster collar, pain relief and post op check-up.
