  1. The first update from Tara's foster home is very positive! 'She is doing brilliantly. I cant believe she is not homed already she is such a fantastic dog cant fault her. She has decided to mother my son which is so sweet xxx' Tara is now in a foster home with a 7 year old child. Although her history was that she 'wanted to attack the baby' I had a very positive feeling that this was a load of old rubbish. All she wanted to do was observe the baby. This new addition who she was not allowed anywhere near. Now she is enjoying child company which is all she wanted in the first place. Now we need to find her a perfect new home. Emma
  2. This is Tara who arrived in rescue recently, she is a 7 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross and came in as an unwanted pet. Tara was due to be put to sleep but we took her in to stop this happening. Tara has lived in a crate for the majority of her life and has been used as a breeding bitch for most of her life. She was unwanted after she jumped up against the new babies empty cot after escaping from her crate and the woman felt this meant that she wanted to attack the baby. Tara has got a wonderful temperament with people and makes a very good house dog. Unfortunately Tara is not good with other bitches, so would need to be walked on-lead, which she is happy with as this is all she has ever known. She needs a home as an only pet so she can get all the attention. Tara cannot be homed with children as she may knock them over. She has no food/toy possession and loves to carry a soft toy around. Tara is being spayed, first vaccinated and microchipped on 16th December. She is also had her ears flushed as she had an untreated infection in them and was wormed and treated for mange and fleas as she had all three! 3. Reggie is a Staffie cross of approx 9 months old who came into rescue as a 5 month old puppy. Since then he lived very happily with a family of children and he is proved to be a great family pet. Reggie is not too keen on other dogs or cats, so he needs to go as an only pet. Reggie is fully vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. Furry Friends Animal Rescue Tel: 020 8407 1080/0797 356 9371 Email: [email protected]

  5. This is Alfie... Alfie is an 8 year old male neutered staffie looking for a new home. Alfie was rescued through a vets after being taken in by his owners to be put to sleep. Alfie's owners had a large and young family partly consisting of four young children. The children got older and started to pinch him, twist his skin and pull his ears. He was a very good boy and put up with it, but eventually growled at one of the kids to back off and so he was rushed immediately to the vets for showing aggression to the children. The vets were aware of the situation and asked the owners to give them 24 hours to find him somewhere to go. They put out an appeal and although there was alot of concern there was nowhere for him to go and so he was put into emergency boarding where I work so that he wouldn't die. Once I met him I was involved and could not stand the thought of him being pushed about from pillar to post and finding himself in different places with different people with no definate plan as to where he would end up, so I agreed to take him in and home him through the rescue. Alfie is a very affectionate boy although extremely thin. He is being built up on Arden Grange and is loving that! He can get over excited and nibble with his front teeth, but this is not meant maliciously at all and if you tell him to 'Calm' then he will sit and have a gentle cuddle (as shown below)... Alfie walks well with other dogs and shows no aggression towards other dogs. He is now looking for a loving and stable home for the rest of his life. Emma (Surrey area) 020 8407 1080/0797 356 9371
  6. Sadly not. He wasn't caught and I don't know where he is now. Emma
  7. Thank you for updating Sarah. I do run a rescue during the evening and at weekends and during the day work full time, mostly trying to save death row dogs. Sadly I have not watched tv for about 4 months as is my life. Emma
  8. I have been contacted tonight about a 4 year old Staffie who is due to be put to sleep tomorrow morning at 9am. He is currently living in a home and has been fine since he was young. However, now due to many human babies being born in a short period of time, he has got stressed out and showed signs that he was not happy. The owners took him to the vets today to have him put to sleep, but the vets requested that they take him home and give them a day to try and find him a place to go because he is such a nice dog. So far they have found nothing. If anyone can help, please contact Niall Lester on 0793 138 8558 asap. This dog is due to die first thing tomorrow morning and there is nothing I can do about it as kennel funds are non-existant. Emma
  9. I was contacted today by a man who previously rescued four St Bernards from a bad home. He is not a dog lover but they were in such a mess that he felt sorry for them. He is ignorant to dog care and didn't realise about them mating when she came into season and so 12 pups arrived by one of the bitches. 6 were stolen by burglars and the others he gave away plus he managed to rehome one of the St Bernard adults. He now has three St Bernards, one of which he wants to keep. He would like to rehome the other two because three of them are too much for him, not least because his new baby has heart problems and is in and out of hospital having operations. Whilst this is all going on, he is sleeping on the floor with one of the dogs...I didn't get into details why this is so!!! The ones he is trying to rehome are a dog and a bitch. They are both entire. Both are vaccinated and the male is microchipped. The male is about 5 years old and the female is about 3 years old. This is quite urgent as the female will get pregnant next time she comes into season and they could be quite closely related. They are in the Hooley, Surrey area. If you can help please phone me on 020 8407 1080/0797 356 9371 or email me on [email protected]
  10. Can anyone help a 10 month old Border Collie pup who was recently rescued from Wales? It was a private rescue situation. The people have got her home and she keeps messing in the house. She also howls when they leave her. She is not spayed, so any rescue taking her on will need to do this. She is white and blind in one eye. The people cannot cope with her and are returning her to Wales, but are concerned for her safety (considering where they got her from). If any rescue can help please call Shallon (Sutton RSPCA) on 020 8669 1356 for more information. This dog needs to be moved within the next couple of days.
  11. Tara has had many well wishes for her impending situation. She has also had some presents arrive in the post. A very cute pink lamb (I have still managed to keep this away from my jealous Spaniel!) and a pink paw-print blanket. My brother mentioned (with the slight hump!) that she is getting more mail than him! She has also received cards and money for her bank account - there is no father to pay maintenance anymore so she has to start saving! Winnie also received a black paw-print blanket, but on request this will be given to Erwine Jnr. I will get pics of them as they 'come out' all wet and covered in slime! This has to be done, partly because I am going to take pics of every aspect of their development and also to remember who was born when! Emma
  12. I never realised this thread was going on. I thought (for people who haven't seen her pic on other sites), this is Tara now. This is my favourite picture of her. She reminds me of a drunk! Here is the most recent picture taken of her belly... And her with my old girl Sindy... Her meeting Charlie (another rescue dog looking for a home at the moment)... And her just enjoying the sunshine... Emma
