  1. There will be contact nos and details on your local council website. AnnS
  2. Well worth getting a quote from local guys though, they often have promotions on. I have blinds on 3 sides and when he came I haggled and got them supplied and fitted for £300. I just kept saying the amounts he gave me were too expensive. Did you realise that Argos supply the tracks and fittings kit as well as the blind slat packs? What would worry me is the cutting them if they are not the correct length. Be awful to have them uneven. AnnS
  3. Mine were fitted by the company, drilled into the frame above the glass, just the same as a normal window. About 2" above the glass and about 2" from the "ceiling" so not right at the top if you see what I mean. Just the track held on by brackets. AnnS
  4. Sounds like a prison. How about letting just one room, then you'd have only 1 new person to get along with/ live with. And look for a part-time job/agency work, at this time of the year with holidays there should be quite a lot of options. AnnS
  5. Poor dog. I really think if that's what "children" of that age can do they should be taken into care and their future seriously considered. AnnS
  6. Owner was a bit silly to have left the dog at risk of theft or injury. Child's parents are at fault also. Sound like they aren't responsible enough to have children. We were away at the caravan for the weekend, caravan backs on to a field of sheep and lambs, had nodded off and woke up to the sound of sheep going frantic, some little **** had gone into the field and were chasing the sheep and lambs with sticks. Where were the parents? Sitting drinking. AnnS
  7. I have a similar one but have only used it for the puppy, it's handy because it folds up but I think a determined bigger dog could easily topple it. Why not just go for a crate, at least you can stack stuff on the crate or in it during the day. AnnS
  8. How about working, even on a temp basis for the summer in a kennels or cattery, lots advertise for staff for the summer and it may lead to something. Could you set yourself up as a dog sitter/walker? If you are getting job seekers or whatever, make an appointment with an adviser and make them help you, that's their job. Or some voluntary work which would give you some experience in something different. Lists are a really good idea as it's often easier to see the good things when they are written down, make a list of your talents, bet there's loads of things you are good at that you just take for granted. Good luck AnnS
  9. Might be a kinda daft idea but could you put an ad in the local paper asking if anyone who witnessed the accident could come forward. AnnS
  10. Say you've been to the dentist and can't eat. Or take them out for a meal.
  11. Was just about to ask the same thing. I re-use my supermarket carriers for poo picking. I can't chuck the poo directly into the wheelie bin so have to put it in something. AnnS
  12. Not sure if this is still up to date but this one is in Clydebank http://www.loansdean.co.uk/ AnnS
