  1. I have pulled my achilles heel a couple weeks ago and it flippin hurts. Anyone done similar and what treatment did you get if any at the docs? I have to remember not to stand flat footed and either walk around in shoes with heels or on my toes. It is not helped by clumsy dogs always wanting to be literally on your heels in case they miss something!
  2. Marge, I am so pleased to hear Mr T has a new found zest for life! I hope your coldsores heal quickly now. Owl, glad your mum is ok. Hopefully she won't give you any more scares. Alicia, you did make me laugh with your comment about harnesses. Happy gotcha day Pierce. Mags!! I didn't realise your jump was so soon! Hope it all went ok Sandra, its not good Glen being bossed by your girls. He needs to come and live with me! Poorly car hell is getting worse. Not only is new car potentially in need oof a new ECU, the power steering also failed meaning I couldnt drive it (related to the ECU problems. But I had trusty old astra in today to do a couple of bits only to be told the head gasket is on its way out. So I have two cars and not a good one between them. I still have to insure both and this month have MOT'd both and now have to tax the other one too. Now where am I going to find the money to get one of them fixed! I hate cars! At least Paul managed to drive poorly new car 30 miles to the dealer so I can ring them Monday to book it in to see what exactly it 'might' be. Thought I was going to have to pay for tow truck too. RMF, I am going to see a bloke called Dave tomorrow and am pretty excited about it.
  3. Marge, I hope your tablets work quickly. Its probably all your stress that has brought them on. Owl, sounds like you are all having a much deserved rest. Alicia, I looked at the clock today at 10.20 and was thinking of you when I was at work. Griff, I hope the dog warden can manage to catch the stray. Sounds like her could really do with some home comforts. And maybe your dog has forgotten his manners with his friend. My friend and I used to walk ours together all the time (neither are dog friendly and it took a lot of work) and she was the only dog Neo ever played with outside the house. We always have to reintroduce them slowly now we don't see each other so often. Alex, sounds like you are planning another BUSY weekend! Both of my cars passed their MOT without much trouble. Astra ready to sell and new Stilo ready for caravanning. Stilo has now decided to shut down everytime its put into reverse! Something wrong with the ECU we think (had it in the garage again yesterday)and I have been told it needs to go into the dealers. Sounds like mega bucks! I hate flipping cars. Good job I still have my trusty astra to get me to work/shopping etc. I am taking it over to my dads as he has the diagnostic kit and also the special Fiat software which the garage didn't. Hope he can find where the problem lies so I don't have to give hundreds to the dealer for hours of searching.
  4. Yes, but not tinned which is healthy extra. Flippin well done!!! I have slipped off the wagon and clinging on by my nails at the moment! Really must try and get to weigh in this week!
  5. Alicia Your mother is no longer suffering. Thinking of you Griff, do you know how you damaged your shoulders? Izzie Not boring at all! I am also intrigued by Owls story!
  6. So sorry Alicia. As if you don't have enough to deal with already. Thinking of you both
  7. So sorry for your loss. I am glad that Sonnys passing was quick but such a shock for you.
  8. That all sounds great Jacqui and very sensible. Right along the lines of what I was thinking for our kids. Thank you for explaining.
  9. Alicia, its understandable that you are maybe not eating so well at the moment with everything you are having to deal with. Don't worry about it. You can start again when life is more settled Vonny, hope you had a good holiday You will soon get back on track. Sandra you and me both.
  10. Sorry for your loss. Run free Bob.
  11. Can you explain a bit more jacqui? Sounds like a good idea if its what I think it is? As we are not in our first marraiges, we both have step-children from each other and I want to ensure that the other is taken care of should anything happen to both or either of us without having arguments later. Maybe there is some paperwork at your mothers house? Would your brother know her solicitor? I think the older generation often tend to stick with the same ones.
  12. You were just so excited to see free tickets on offer!
  13. Sandra, its says in the title Thurs 30th June. If it had been the weekend they would have been snapped up by now. I have always wanted to go but can't afford the tickets!
  14. Trudy, can you get him used to a piece of ribbon first in case you need to lead him anywhere? ie vets. Saffy has been walked and I came home to the lush smell of garlic cooking. Step daughter has come over to cook her dad dinner today as she doesnt have money to buy presents. I am having pasta as she is doing spag bol with meat for them. Think I will be pinching the garlic bread though! Everyone seems to be out today walking their dogs so I am leaving Neo until its quieter later on.
  15. Not what you need right now! Are you boys of any help? Its about time they were told to grow some balls and take some responsibilty!! I hope your mums time left is as painless as possible. If its any help, we found that when MIL went it was a relief that she wasn't suffering any longer. Alicia, I hope the docs can get to the bottom of what is making Rays dad so poorly. Michelle, its a very sensible but difficult thing to do. We said after MIL died that we were going to sort out our wills and make sure everyone knew exactly what was expected etc so no arguing and bitching like my BIL! Marge, glad you enjoyed your spuds. Have a nice day out today. Alex, don't blame you for getting rid of the Ivy. I hate the stuff! We have it climbing over our fence from next door. I always get Paul to hack it back with the hedge trimmers! Trudy, nice to see you back. Your new addition seems to have come a long way in a couple of months. Well done for taking him on. Keep us updated on his progress. Yesterday we spent the afternoon at MIL house digging up her beloved roses and brought them back home and planted them all out in pots. Just hope they take now. Today I have been to the allotment and done loads of weeding in between the veggies which are growing OK despite being neglected. A few of the cabbages have been hammered by the birds and are on their last legs. Must get some more netting to cover them over! Aching now! Just time to take the dogs out before dinner.
  16. Alicia, you are not being self-absorbed. Its somewhere you know you can come to offload when others around you are suffering. Hope the docs can get to the bottom of what is making Rays dad so poorly at the moment. Sandra, I know the spay op is a lot more harsh than boy neutering, but I had to take Neo over the hills after two days as he was literally doing circuits of the walls! Marge, glad the lotty has had the desired effect. Bet the spuds are delicious! Jazz Know how you feel.
  17. Marge, I really hope you can get your old gentleman sorted. It doesnt bear thinking about what may happen if he isn't protected! Can the police not help in any of this situation? Maybe these people are claiming benefit they shouldnt be? So many people on the 'take' these days rather than work for a living! We had the poor old chap killed up the road a couple weeks ago because he wouldnt give his hard earned belongings to some cheap thugs! Make sure you stay safe too Marge Michelle, did you get your assignment finished? Jazz, how is your mum doing? Alex, glad you havent got a poorly head. Not fun gardening with a hangover Alicia, I do hope it isnt as bad as feared. It is a very difficult time for all involved. Thinking of you all I couldnt make up my mind what to do today. Local carnival or to the allotment? It started pizzing down so put paid to both those ideas so did some housework instead! Now waiting for Paul to get back from Kwikfit. We hit a pothole in the road in Cardiff and he noticed a big bulge in his tyre this morning. Good job it didnt blow out on the motorway!
  18. Alex, can we have a new pic of all of your garden now please?
  19. Happy birthday Mrs B. Do you have to make yourself a birthday cake?
  20. Jayne, well done on spotting that ladys tumour. Hopefully she will get treatment quickly and be back to full health soon. It doesnt bare thinking about what might have been for the eye test! And glad that you got to tell about the senior person who is cherry picking and that you were backed up by other staff members. Maybe something will get done about it now! Alex, I enjoyed your reminiscing.... Hope you don't suffer a wine head in the morning! for Molly. Hope she is back to her bouncy self very soon. But not before the morning Alicia, hope your blood tests went ok and you have sorted your appointment. Suzeanna, what a pain your OH is having with the dentist! Hope he gets his teeth sorted before his holiday so he can relax properly. Abby and Kev. Welcome baby Felix. As Amy said I got to the concert very early... taxi had been booked by accomodation for us to ensure we could get there on time. Myself and Amy were sat on opposite sides of the stadium but we did text each other. It was AMAZING!! Want to go again! It felt like a Monday today after having two days off work. What a nice surprise to now get another two days off for the weekend!
  21. . oooh Where are you sitting? OMFG, you could buy a new car for that! No idea. One of the two things I detest... aubergine... Eeeew! I used to go belly dancing. Its a lot harder than it looks. Two whole days off work! Cardiff tomorrow for Take That, staying over in lovely B&b on a farm then sight seeing for a few hours.
  22. suzeanna, can you at least suggest that she homechecks for the pup. Alicia, sorry to hear about your mum. Have you been in touch with Social services about her nursing care? She should not be left without proper care in her condition! I would be giving someone a rocket!! Alex, glad you went to the doctors. Do we have to sign autographs now your arm is famous? If you are not planning on stopping at the house, could you plant the big rhodos then take cuttings to put in pots which you can take with you when you move? Make sure you have PLENTY of coffee! I have been to the dentist today. No other treatment required thank doG as have car number one in for MOT tomorrow, with the other one to follow very soon after! One more day in work then I have two days off work and we are off to Cardiff to see Take That!!
