cindere528
As some of you know, my son is due to go to work on the QE2 in about 3 weeks. His employer is Carnival Cruise Lines which is an American company. He needs to obtain a C1 Visa from the American Embassy & he has an appointment there on Thursday this week. However, he is worried because he has a drink-driving conviction from about 5 years ago. He wasn't sent to prison, he just got an 18 month ban & a fine. I've looked on the Embassy website & on the website of the legal firm who deal with problems obtaining a visa, but they are not very helpful. Does anyone know whether or not this will prevent him getting a visa? Edited June 24, 2006 by cindere528
pboae
My BiL got a visa with a couple of minor convictions (stealing milk and taking booze into a football match) from a few years previously. It was quite a drawn out process but the convictions weren't a big issue.

cindere528
I've now found out that he needs something from the Police showing details of his prosecution. This documentation will take 6 weeks to obtain. His appointment at the Embassy is in 2 days time & he's due to join the QE2 in 2 weeks.
