~ Personality ~

Generally: Fantastic amiable boy. Friendly and cuddly. Adores people. Social and balanced.

Mali is a truly wonderful boy, he ticks all the right boxes and needs little to no work to be 100% perfect. He has a lovely balanced nature and is nice and centered. He is super friendly with people, but in a gentle way, and is incredibly sweet. He loves his cuddles and is great with children of all ages, though we would like to see him homed with kids over the age of 8. Mali is a truly lovely boy with a placid, calm, sweet nature and would be a fantastic dog for a first time hound owner.

~ In the Home ~

Generally: Housetrained, not destructive, ok to be left with canine company, quiet and mannerly./i]

Mali is used to living in a home as part of the family. He is fully housetrained (though one or two accidents at the very start is normal for any dog), doesnt countersurf once told no, is not destructive and is used to being left with canine company during the day. Again, this fabulous boy ticks all the boxes and doesnt have any areas that need work. Hes pretty much perfect!

~ Other Animals ~

Generally: Loves dogs, canine savvy, gentle and playful. Can live with confident cats.

Mali loooooooves other dogs and is great with them. He would definitely be happiest with another dog in the home to keep him company, especially if his new parents work during the day, and he loves having a playmate to run and goof around with. He is very good with other dogs and knows how to read them. Mali is excellent with all canines regardless of size, type and gender, so really he could slot wonderfully into an existing pack, or be a lovely, low maintenance companion for a resident pooch.

Mali used to live with cats, but did enjoy chasing them on occasion! As such he would only be suitable to live with a very confident kitty who would tell him where to go if he did try to chase. Please note that we only place dogs in cat homes around the Norfolk area, but if there is no cat involved in the homing, Mali can be homed throughout the UK.

~ Out and About ~

Generally: Walks to heel, travels well, ok for offlead, social & friendly.

Mali is a total couch potato and does not need a huge amount of exercise. He would be very content with two 30min walks a day and perhaps a chance to stretch his legs offlead in a safe area a couple times a week. Mali had excellent recall with his previous owners, and just needs some time to develop a bond with his new family before he can be let off lead in safe areas away from public roads and livestock.

Mr Mali walks like a gem on the lead and really a small child could easily walk him. He never pulls and is very happy to trot alongside you. He also travels well in the car and settles nicely for long journeys.

~ Where Am I? ~

Mali is currently in foster care in Norfolk. He can be homed anywhere in the UK provided we have a homechecker available, but please note that you may be required to travel to his foster home to meet and collect him. Please also be aware that we only accept cat homings in and around the Norfolk area, but if there is no cat involved in the homing process, it is much more flexible. If you have any concerns about this, please feel free to contact us.

~ Want To Adopt Me? ~

Mali is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

If you are interested in adopting Mali, you can contact me (Tam) via email: [email protected], or speak directly to Bronwen by phoning: 075 000 62648. Emails are usually replied to within 24 hrs.

There is an application form for adopting a Kerry Greyhound, and we will ask you to fill it in as the first step in the adoption process. To speed up this process, we recommend you do this before emailing/calling. You can find the form, as well as further information on our homing procedures, on the Adoption Page: http://s300889640.websitehome.co.uk/uk/adoption.html.

Thank you.

Kerry Greyhounds UK is a voluntary organisation based in Norfolk, England. It focuses on rehoming unwanted Irish greyhounds and lurchers, as huge numbers are bred in Ireland each year and homes are few and far between. KGUK operates through a network of volunteers spread over Ireland and the UK. We can look after approximately 30 dogs at any one time in both kennels and foster homes.

Each dog is neutered, vaccinated, & microchipped before being adopted (unless stated otherwise).

We assess the suitability of all home offers, and we have homed greyhounds in all corners of the UK. If interested in one of our hounds, please feel free to contact us via the following:
