CASPER

Meet the very stunning Casper. He is a 2 year old ex-racing greyhound boy. Casper is absolutely beautiful – no photo does him justice! He is a big fawn boy with THE biggest, most heart melting, amazingly deep eyes we’ve ever seen! No one can resist this boy’s big doe expression!

Casper came to us with his brother Milo, who is also looking for his forever sofa. In an ideal world we would truly love to home these hounds together, and they certainly make a breathtaking pair, but we will home them separately if needed.

Casper has a fabulous personality and is really just a big soft teddy bear. He loves his cuddles and would stand beside you until the end of time if you kept scratching his chin. He loves being around people and is very content to just be in your presence, he isn’t a very demanding boy.

Casper has been very good with the other greyhounds he has met, and hasn’t caused an ounce of trouble. He is currently in a foster home with another greyhound girl and a couple of sheepdogs and is amiable with them all. He may need to be tested more thoroughly with small dogs before going to live with them, and we can do this prior to adoption if needed.

In the home, Casper is an angel to have around and has no problem sleeping in his crate during the night. He is housetrained and is just starting to explore around and get used to living in a home. We hope he will pick up some toys soon and start to play.

Like most greyhounds, Casper is a total couch potato and does not need a huge amount of exercise. He will be content with two 30min walks a day and perhaps a chance to stretch his legs offlead in a safe area once or twice a week. Although Casper is a big boy, he walks like a dream on the lead and very rarely pulls.

In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family with children, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the elderly. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.

Casper is currently being fostered in Ireland and will be transported via Kerry Greyhounds to the UK or Europe when a suitable permanent or foster home offer comes up. This will be organised and paid for by Kerry Greyhounds, and we ask only for a donation to help cover costs. Please note that adopters will need to travel to our nearest collection point to pick him up, and if you are in the UK and wish to meet before adopting him, he will be fostered in the Norfolk area.

Casper is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

If you are interested in adopting Casper, please email me on [email protected] for our adoption application form and information pack. Emails are usually replied to within 24 hrs. Thanks!
