owl
This is the situation: A little JRT (no surprise there) went awol in Regents Park, London, 3 weeks ago and there is good reason to believe he has been camping out there ever since. Hasn't been seen but has been heard. The park is locked at night, so plenty of chance for a terrier to have the place to himself and scavenge leftover food and hunt the mice round bins etc. The plan is to trap him but we need to find which bit of the park he is mainly frequenting or has a den. I was asked if I could bring Wispa up, transport has kindly been offered, but I have decided that it would be much better to find a suitable dog and handler locally as they may need to be out for more than one night. Plus we are in the middle of packing for house move so don't want to do much out of area, and now have another jackie missing in Ceredigion which we are also after. I have suggested that owner searches for dog clubs in SE area, especially anyone doing tracking, or working trials. Has anyone got any suggestions, brilliant ideas or cunning plans please? Ruthi (borrowadog)
You could try Berkshire Search and Rescue. They mostly look for lost people, of course, but they might be persuaded. Or any of the other search and rescue clubs in the area.
owl
Could try, but have had little luck with SAR groups in the past. Something to do with insurance.
