bonniebird
Hi all, we had a leak last night and our leather sofa got really wet. We have taken the cusions off so that it drys out, will it mark the leather, or will it dry out ok? Any advice? The leather has a massive dark wet area at the mo Thanks Karen
bonniebird
It was our new dishwasher and I am worried about salt marks
safneo
No idea but I would imagine it will mark if there is salt in the dishwasher. Can you claim against your house insurance? Why did it leak? If it is faulty I would claim against the washing machine company for having your sofa professionaly cleaned
bonniebird
Nah, brand new machine, first time we used it, fabulous clean dishes, it was my husband plumbing it in wrong, we think its fixed now, not like him, he's usually good at all that stuff! Thanks though
safneo
You can get proper leather cleaner (rather than polish). If you cant claim if its marked, try and get some but be careful that the salt doesnt scratch. We used these at work for supplies
Ruthi (borrowadog)
You can still claim on your insurance for the damage, even though it was 'self inflicted' - after all it was an accident! They can only refuse to pay out if the damage was deliberately caused. I once got a whole new carpet because of a cigarrette burn. I never let anyone smoke in my home again, but the insurance company actually volunteered that I should claim when I thought it wasn't covered! Tisaann
Do you know what type of leather it is? And is it the whole sofa that got soaked or just part? The company I work for does leather repairs if you want to PM me for the name of the company then you can have a look on their website
