Laura_E Posted February 7, 2010 Report Share Posted February 7, 2010 This is a problem everywhere, but it doesn't surprise me that south London has been highlighted as an area of particular prominence. Unfortunately, the types of people that trade these poor animals in this way have little regard for the law, so bringing in legislation relating to age of ownership etc is unlikely to have any effect. The bottom line is we need tougher sentences when it comes to those that abuse and mistreat animals, a 10 hour community service order is hardly going to deter people.
