elricc
Asking for help for a friend whose 11 year old dog has become diabetic, she is in the vet on a drip and is very distressed, pulling out the canula, and getting the muzzle off to rip at the driip etc. The vet will allow her home when she is re hydrated. Any tips of types of food, care, warning signs, general experience etc Thank You Laura

daunting
Found this article on it - hope it helps. Canine Diabetes Also heard that a high fibre diet helps too - but best ask vet for advice on this.
Gnasher
One of my friends had a cavalier with diabetes for several years. I think the main thing once he was stabalised with his medication was to keep him to a pretty regular routine so no sudden long walks and no huge food treats and with that he was fine. He did sleep upstairs with them and a couple of times woke them in the night when he needed sugar and was going low but basically he was a heppy chap and they all adapted pretty well to the routine.
