  1. Can someone please tell me to act my age  last night I started belly dance again. At the weekend a neighbour was wittering on about a zumba class and said she had no one to go with so muggins volunteered to go with her. Went round to call for her tonight and she cried off so idiot brains here went on her own as I was in the gear and had psyched myself up to go (part of me had wanted to cry off too as it's a cold, frosty night). I think I'll be feeling it in the morning but it was a good laugh.

    Stupid from Northampton

  2. He's not depressed, he's being manipulative and is punishing you because he can't get his own way. You don't get depressed because your wife won't live out your fetishes.

He should be supporting you if you are depressed and bending over backwards to make home a nice safe haven for you, not messing with your head even more with his emotional blackmail.

I'm sorry if this sounds harsh but I wasted nearly 20 years of my life having my strings pulled by a controllling sociopath and I'd hate to think of anyone else going through the same ordeal :GroupHug:

  3. I luffs OK Go, their songs are a bit odd but their videos are always brilliant.

Nice Mr Postman brought my latest ebay purchases, little snuggly fleece lined pouches for the piggies and even ickler one for the hammies to keep them warm this winter

I've booked in to restart belly dancing from Monday.

  4. Hope the scan was all fine Abby :flowers:

Jules - you're friends husband sounds like a right a*se, I hope she can fleece him

I am p*ssed off, at 10.30 today, my nose started running again. Yet another cold  I've probably been lurgy/cough/cold free for about 10 days in the last 10 weeks. I looked in my 'medicine' drawer earlier, I've got Frontline, chook nutri drops and some plasters  Have also found a swig of Night Nurse which I'm saving for bed time.

  5. Just a thought, but could there be a hidden switch somewhere for the extra bar - ISTR that bar heater thingummies sometimes have an option to not have them all on for economy?

There is were 3 big switches to click and nothing happened on one of them. I am however the proud owner of heater wot works on all 3 bars  and the lovely peeps in Argos even went and rummaged through their just arrived delivery to see if they had a replacement as they were out of stock. However, while I waited I might have bought some more stuff

Good news about lost and come back again doglet :flowers:

Tomorrow I intend to have 'a conversation' with my immediate boss and my big boss - they are both really nice but very similar types in that they just don't communicate and you have to wring any info out of them. I'm feeling under used and a bit in the dark about stuff that is going on. There is an internal-ish job going that everyone else in the department but me was told about. I want to apply for it but they have to approve my application and I'd still be indirectly working for them, but could make a massive difference.

  6. Are you planning very far ahead for your anniversary Spins :flowers:

I have solved the riddle of my dead torch..............might help if I used the right charger  I get soo confused with my chargers, I have too many and think I ought to instigate a sensible labelling and storage system rather than leave them all out in random places

A few weeks ago I bought a little halogen heater for just in case extra warmth (especially with my dodgy boiler), tried it out tonight and one of the bars doesn't work, I chucked most of the packaging out but still have the receipt. I blimmin hate having to go back to shops to exchange stuff, especially as I know they'll whine about the lack of 'original packaging'

Final moan of the night - Dex lurves to sleep on my bed during the day but has been known to destuff duvets and pillows so now I fold up my duvet every morning and put it and my pillows in a safe place and some blankets on the bed. He's left everything alone for months but today the feckin sod has made major inroads into destuffing my mattress :mecry: He might be fretting cos of the clock changes as I'm not home before dark.

  7. Photos now!!

Go to Cats and other animals

I'm so cold I might go to bed especially coz I found my ultra fleecy arctic conditions jim jam bottoms - shame I haven't got a top to match

Hate the dark and cold weather, when the clocks go back I go to work in the dark and come home in the dark  and my big torch seems to have died, I'd charged it up and went down the garden to see to the chooks and it lasted about 2 mins then no light  It's on charge again for morning feeding duties and the bliddy thing had better work.

  8. :GroupHug: I'm really sorry about your mum. There's not a right or wrong way to grieve, everyone gets through it in their own way. But if you feel like talking to your mum then why not, I still talk to a very dear and much loved friend who died 20 years ago as I've not yet found anyone who understands me like he did :GroupHug:

and the ruling that people who are looking for work cannot do more than a few hours a week of voluntary work always struck me as daft.

I'm not sure where that comes from - there is no limit as long as the person follows the 'rules' for claiming their benefits (such as being available for interview and actively seeking work).

Personally, I think that those who want to volunteer while looking for work probably already do so, and it will cost too much to try and get an enforced scheme off the ground.
