  1. Casper would like to thank you all for his welcome, he has been here a week now, and is really settling in, he's come out of his shell a lot, and is definately going to be a cheeky chap

Meg has always shown a huge interest in cats, i'd no idea if she thought of them as friend or food though  We once met a big old farm tom cat, she didn't try to chase it, just wanted to play and assumed the 'play stance' butt in the air front legs on the ground........ it didn't work though, she got swiped  and she ran off, other than this, she has seen them out of the window at home and sat crying at them. So bringing a tiny wobbly kitten into the home was a big unknown, luckily after she'd got over the first excitement bit, things went well.

The first photo was taken after just 2 hours, which was much better than i thought, i was expecting things taking a week at least. Now they are like old buddies, i'm so proud of my monster pup

Casper is deaf, we thought there was something different about him when he first came, as the week has gone on and he's settled in better, we've been able to confirm this, so it's going to be an interesting journey for us all. He'll probably be quite pleased though that he doesn't have to listen to her singing and talking/shouting at him when she is trying to play   because she is very vocal when she plays.

  2. Meet Casper, who came here late last Friday night, he's tiny, and a bit wobbly but Meg monster loves him, so he's going to stay here.

after the monster dog got over trying to eat me, i took a nap....

  3. Happy 3rd Bridge Birthday Toppo

This month would also have been your 15th birthday and gotcha day, so here are some special birthday/gotcha day thoughts too.

My little star, gone from our lives but always in our hearts, i hope you shared a treat or two with all your bridge buddies.

  4. He is luffly Sarah.

Meg says he is innocent, it was the compost pixies that wrecked the plant pot and they planted the evidence on him............ just like our croc pixies that eat one of each pair of crocs

You have to watch out for those pixies, pesky little gits they are

  5. That made me smile and that's not easily done :). Thank you!

LOVE the pic, your dog has a special something about her!

Thanks, i'm pleased we could make you smile :flowers: Meg definately has something about her! bless her! She is a loveable rogue.

Hi Melp, i've been fine thanks, been busy with family stuff, getting myself educated  , and things. I'm doing holidays and amusing the kids at the moment which has been good. i'll have to get my act together and come online for more than 'edjucashun' stuff once they've gone back.

  6. We've been awol for ages, finally managed to find our way back, and thought i'd do a quick Meg update for those that have asked.

As most of you know nothing to do with Meg is simple  she is definately a character and a half, I lurve her to bits though, she's a very special girl, but definately a once in a lifetime experience!

Tonight with it being nice and warm, i have had the back doors open, it's been quiet, apart from an annoying squeaking noise, but i didn't think a lot about it till Alan asked if i'd seen Meg..... she wasn't asleep where i assumed she was, so i leapt out back, to find that the annoying squeak is Meg jumping up and down on 'her' trampoline, not unusual for her, apart from tonight she is not alone  she is jumping about with her new best friend, a hedgehog! The poor thing was probably feeling seasick, i rescued him, and set him free in nextdoors garden, he toddled off, quite relieved i think! I turned to come back home, and fell flat on my face, down a huge hole, this is by far the biggest hole so far, its about a foot and a half deep  and a good two foot round, it's huge! even by Meg's standards! Meg has a habit of burying things either to hide them or save them till later, everything from shoes, treats, food bowls, clothes, you name it she buries it, usually only in a shallow hole, 3-4 inches deep, i think tonight she was trying to bury her new friend, and he was probably trying to walk off, so she dug deeper and deeper trying to contain him, finally giving up and going to play on the trampoline. I shall have to go out and re-landscape my 'garden' tomorrow.

So for those that asked, yes she is fine, still loopy, and still agrophobic but getting lots better, (we can now walk round the neighbourhood, as long as we don't meet scarey people) her tail has repaired, though it's not completely under control, its wag sort of wogs at times, matches her legs really, totally unco-ordinated. I've never known a dog quite like her, she has yet to manage to scratch her head/ears with her back foot, it's entertaining to say the least watching her try! how she still has her eyes in tact is quite amazing! She no longer swims in the pool after her attempt at drowning herself which is a good thing, as she was getting to be a danger to herself and anyone in the vicinity.

She is coming up to 2 years old now and is starting to settle down a bit, not a lot, but a bit is an amazing achievement for her!

This is the only recent picture i have of her at the moment it's not brilliant but you get the idea, she isn't as fat as the picture makes her look, she is still a skinny ribs. Here she is doing a nice stay, pity i chopped off her feet oops!

    meg2.jpg

She sends you all a big hello and a sloppy kiss, especially for her Aunty Coryn.

  7. Meg broke her leg last year, she was meant to have 6 weeks crate rest, but she hated it, and was able to wedge her leg in the crate to get to the cast and remove it, so we had to settle on 6 weeks rest with no crate. Luckily even though she is only young she likes to sleep a lot, and it wasn't a problem keeping her quiet in the house.

No idea how you'd keep an active dog quiet though, low fat treats in a kong, but not too many because if he's inactive he may gain weight which is bad news on recovering limbs.

Sorry i'm no help, but we'll wish him all the best for his op, and a speedy recovery :flowers:

  8. Once a fortnight here

I open a bag of dry food, and leave it for Meg to eat, it takes her roughly a fortnight to get through a 1.5kg bag.

She doesn't do bowls, (she picks them up, carries them about, dumps the food, then chews the bowl up, even metal ones, or china ones! ) but is happy to help herself from the bag, so i let her.

She has a half slice of toast in a morning if anyone makes it, or she'll finish off some cereal. At night she has any leftover dinner if there is some, but her main diet is her dry dog food, she can't stomach wet food.

  9. everything went fine, he was back from theatre about 1pm, and in recovery doing well, they moved him to the progressive care unit last night, and hopefully after doctors rounds this morning he'll be moving back to the cardio ward. Now we just have the recovery bit to deal with.

Thanks for all the good thoughts, and reiki Muriel :flowers:

  10. I've just spoken to the hospital, Alan is first on the list so will be going down to theatre at 7.45am , i wanted to speak to him, but he's off having something done, i'll not be able to see/speak to him till friday now :(

  11. Thanks Muriel, i've packed him off with a load of echinacea and golden root, arnica 30c, plus his other medication.

Now we just have to wait and see what happens  ...... i don't like waiting

  12. Can i ask for some Reiki for my OH Alan please.

He is going into hospital in the morning for a heart bypass operation, he spends tomorrow settling in and having tests/observations, then they operate on Thursday, all being well.

Any reiki and spare good thoughts would be much appreciated.

    Thanks :)

  13. Just to clarify, this is for Gibraltar, nowhere else at this stage?

Gibraltar use English Law, so if they can add as easily as they have done then......... (or have i got the wrong end of the stick? )

The City of Gibraltar is a self-governing British Dependent Territory situated at the southern tip of the Iberian peninsula at the entrance of the Mediterranean sea.

The Head of State of Gibraltar is HM Queen Elizabeth II and Gibraltarians are British Citizens. The Queen is represented on the Rock by the Governor who is also Commander in Chief of HM Forces stationed in Gibraltar.

    Legal System

Gibraltar law is based on English law. Although the Courts apply English common law and equity, much of Gibraltar's commercial legislation has been enacted to provide a favourable climate for the financial services industry. For example, Gibraltar law on banking secrecy, and the confidentiality of off-shore company management is much stricter than that of the United Kingdom. The Supreme Court of Gibraltar follows the rules of procedure of the English Supreme Court. Appeals lie to the Gibraltar Court of Appeal and from there on a point of law only to the Privy Council in London. As a territory within the European Union, European Union legislation has the same effect as in any member state and references to the European Court on questions of law can be made. Most Gibraltar lawyers qualify in England.

  14. Steve you need to take your sofa to a sofa neutering hospital, they will eradicate its innards and return it to you. Though afterwards you must beware of where you sit, and visitors must be ushered to other forms of seating for fear of disappearing into its bowels.

    Just like mine...........

    nutters.jpg

I can safely post pictures of my sofa, i got it off ebay, it was cheap (£50) and came with papers (reciept), its a year old, and has just recently been neutered, its made out of plastic not fabric, and definately not dangerous leather like Allies  it's not made in Sweden either, looking at the quality of it, i'd say it was made in taiwan

  15. Could Meg have some reiki please, she's damaged her leg, a small bone chip, and ligament/tendon damage, she's on 4 weeks total rest with a splint and support bandage to see if it will heal without the need for surgery.

    here she is....

    thank you :flowers:
