  1. I bet RMF will heave a sigh of relief when my studying is all over, then you won't have to listen to me whinge and moan and panic and stress any more

Nah... its quite entertaining waiting to see what dietry delight you are going to add to the 'if I pass I will eat'.... your hat and a s*** buttie so far. Whats next

  2.

RMF : I wish it was this time next week then my exam would be over. In work today and then for the following five days I will be studying a minimum of 6 hours a day and stressing lots. It's my first exam at this level and I'm dreading it.

So do I... my op would be over and done with and I would be going for post op check before hitting London for the weekend

Part of my roof comes off today. Everywhere is covered in dust sheets so hopefully I can control the mess while all the work goes on

  3. Cliffy did neither, hiw weight stayed the same, and small dogs really

clap it on quick if your not careful, no extra barking either but the litte sod

definately didnt want to leave

Ah yes but he was so adorable he was mithered to death by the staff all day. It didnt give him a chance to bark or put weight on and with such little legs, a walk down the lane and back wore him out

I shall be waving off the contents of my house today as they go to storage. Tomorrow the builders take 1/3 of my roof off and break through the side so they can come and go without falling over the rotties

  4. My brain is like mush, I forgot - was it any good or just too sweaty for words

Its been great for evenings when its cooler and I can pack without doing too much damage. its too hot for a hot day to wear for any length of time but perfect for cooler weather. Thanks :flowers:

  5. I need to finish packing away all my belongings as the removal men are taking most of my furniture to storage tomorrow. On wednesday the builders will be evicting me from the upstairs of my house while they take the roof off and do the new one. Its amazing what crap I have found, what crap I have binned, and what stuff I thought I had which I seem to have lost  I seem to have mislaid a pile of ciggies and my knicker and socks drawers seem to have been breeding as I have way too much of both  Mega binning moment is about to start

  6. two weeks in kennels hasn't done Rosie any good at all as she's put on loads of weight, barks incessantly, and is much less affectionate than she was before. I'm hoping she'll get back to normal soon.

Out of interest, would you prefer she came back a bit tubby or a bit skinny? A few of our customers comment on dogs weight gain, but I always assumed that was better than the dog or cat not eating enough and looking like they pined? As for the barking, apparently its something that stops again after a few days. A few customers say their dog never barks at home but they are riotously noisy when they are here. I assume its the fact other dogs are barking as well when in kennels.

  7. well the grey skies have gone again and the blue sky is back. The poor greyhound volunteers are trying to second guess the weather as we have a stand at the Stockton Heath Festival today but not a lot of cover if it rains.

  8. morning. woke up at 6 and it was lovely and sunny out. Way too early so I went back to bed. got up again just after 7 and it was grey and miserable and windy and its trying to rain. Still packing away the contents of the house ready for the roof coming off next week

  9. Now having a nosy on Amazon to see wot you're talking about like

You don't mean a Gelert camping shower thing do you?

yep thats the one. Fill it with water, hang it out in the sunshine and at the end of the day nice warm water to shower in. I got one for sam to try out when I went over there and thought it was worth a go

  10. we did toy with the idea that shonky wiring and plumbing was a heath robinson method of making a heated shower ( house is cold water only ) but decided against it laugh.gif , actually we are going to use a number of solar showers like the one you donated last year to supply heated water when needed which is an amazingly cost effective solution and very eco friendly to boot

I think I got that off amazon. with all the sunshine over there I would imagine they would work very well.

  11. sorry should have explained the wiring is in a shower room at our new clinic that we are not using ( because its dangerous ) we are getting the dogstar house/clinic sorted but as its our ( the 3 trustees ) money and not Dogstars ( charity ) we have a restricted budget so we are getting the required work done in stages.

So far this week I have had 2 sparks working on the rest of the house so thats now safe , I am currently still staying with my adopted family at MEF where they have a shower that does not have bare wires poking out of the wall and a light fitting in the line of the shower head laugh.gif so I can be clean and safe

Good. Was just about to sugggest you went back up to MEF for your showers etc rather than risk zapping yourself. A fried squirrel wouldnt be much good out there with so much going on

  12. Morning.

I am another one who just doesnt get Lady GaGa and cant see what the fuss is about. Some of the songs are ok, but this strange dressing up, bizare footwear and attitude tend to just whooosh straight over me.

  13. Oh Di :GroupHug: masses of good wishes for your dad. I hope that you and your former very good friend can get over any recent silly blimps in the past, shove them aside and realise that you do really care about each other :GroupHug: :GroupHug: :flowers:

Thank you. It must be nice to be a nice person like you... but Im a totally not nice person and as long as I have a hole in my @rse that will never happen  Im sure the feeling is mutual too. So far I have refrained from getting personal, and thats about as nice as I can manage, as I am a total bitch :flowers:

  14. :GroupHug: Tikka. How lovely that Dex gives you so much joy. I hope the vets have done a grand job patching him up for you.

My dad has been referred to a cancer specialist in Manchester today. His treatment had looked pretty good last time, but it would appear its back and agressive. The practical sod was making me ring the tax office today to fix a problem, sort out the online banking and set up the VAT online, just incase he dies so Im not totally clueless with that side of the business. It kind of puts into perspective the total insignificance of the asswipe who has been sniping at me for the last few days. Some things in life are important to me. Somoe people really are not.

  15. Morning :tired:

I am wibbling about a meeting a select few of us are having with our Managing Director this afternoon (2 long hours). I hate being in situations where I am likely to open my gob and say the wrong thing.

Im sure you will be fine. If it gets a bit heavy going, treat it as an interview and imagine them naked on the loo.

  16. We call them holidays in wales. its the only chance of sleeping and in another bed. Someone cooks for you and everything. It will be absolutely fine.

That very thought did cross my mind  They said if I wake up at a reasonable time I can come straight home... otherwise I shall stay in over night. I quite fancy a good nights sleep and no reason to get up at the crack of dawn to work the next day

  17. Morning. Its trying to rain here but only spitting. Need a good downpour to save me having to water the plants and flowers.

I got my date through for my shoulder operation. A week on Friday  Never had an operation, or an anasthetic before.

  18. Crikey Di, what are you having done to your house. You are in danger of ending up with a heap of bricks

I went from a nice cottage garden

    100_0557.jpg

    to this...

    initial holes dug

    partially filled holes

    IMG_0776.jpg

    slab down, brickwork starts tomorrow

    IMG_0779.jpg

dogs checking out the new slab is safe to dance on

  19. morning. I dont have any grass to mow anymore. I have a building site where my garden once was  Today I have to continue packing away my house contents and my clothes and tonight I have friends over to help me shunt furniture about. The roof will come off in about 10 days time, then the breakthrough of my walls. I wonder what possessed me to think all this was a good idea
